A bar with the best people you can call your family. Everyone is welcome and you will know everyone’s name.

one of my fav places for a cold beer. has a nice décor patio with chairs to lunge at. have some nice neighborhood kitties to play with and visit. nice friendly bartenders. fast service. great ice cold cups for my beer. price is low. has a pool table and dart board inside and a juke box and plenty of room to sit and a few tables on the side. sometimes the bar provide bar food and bbq food too. will be back again.

This bar has to be the best little place in town. I live in the neighborhood and this bar is a must see. Huge outdoor patio with a big barbeque area. The people here are very sweet and super nice and also respectful. I have always had a pleasant experience here. This is my favorite spot to have a couple beers with a few cool friends. This is a beer and wine bar which cuts down a lot of the nonsense that you would see at other places. Come on in and get the coldest beer in Sacramento!!!

So I came to this place to just play pool, since I don’t live very far. Also, it was hot, and I just wanted a place to unwind from a long day and play pool with my boyfriend. After we paid for pool and lined up the balls, the owner tells us that we have to at least order a soda or we will have to leave. Excuse me? You advertise beer, wine, and POOL, but there is nothing stating that you HAVE to order a drink in order to play pool(I also didn’t want to drink on a school night, nor do I drink soda). Extremely unfair treatment on behalf of the staff(except the bartender lady, who was friendly), rude patrons trying to defend their hangout, cussing at people who just wanted to come in and play a quick round of pool, in the neighborhood. So lame.

Update on the fantastic Beer & Wine Bar. I still love this place. Now into the Winter time they don’t have someone out there BBQ some just bout everyday. If u like spicy food then your coming into the right place for John C’s Mexican/American spicy dishes in the Summer. Yet still there’s food or snacks

When I first got in here, I thought that the crowd might not be my style. It’s an older crowd. But the people here were really great. Super friendly. Mike, the bartender was so helpful and so friendly. The live music outside was fun also.

A no-nonsense beer bar with clean lines and polite bartenders. Definitely bares the stamp of a well run family business. A large outside area and VERY smoker friendly ;) Makes me proud that simple places like the Hub are still going strong.

The Hub is the nickname for Boston… short for«Hub of the Universe». The Hub is the fictional name of the café on That 70’s Show. The Hub is also a smokey neighborhood bar in South Sacramento… Love the name… The Hub. The bar… not so much. It’s bright! Not a lot of signage or dive bar kitsch on the walls. It’s also a smoking bar which is always a disappointment for me. The smell of old staIe cigarette smoke mixed with fresh cigarete smoke isn’t exactly a mood enhancer. I also have to dig out the K-Tel lung scraper. Lots of smoking bars for dive bar night these days. I even went outside for some fresh air and then all of a sudden everybody who was inside smoking came outside to smoke. What?! The Hub needs more kitsch a cool jukey and less smoke. I give the Hub 2 carcenigenic stars.

Well this is my first review, so I figured I might as well give it to a place that no one had commented on yet. The Hub is a beer bar tucked in the back of a run-down strip mall on 47th Avenue, midway down on the south side of Sacramento. Heard about it for awhile, so I thought I’d pop in for a beer on what I hoped would be a quiet Wednesday afternoon. Wrong. The place was mostly full around 2:30, and more people kept rolling in. One pool table, couple of televisions, cold-ass bottles of domestics(and probably Corona too), and the working-class crowd that South Sac is known for. No jukebox that I saw, they had tunes piped in on the house stereo. Oh yeah, they got a beat-down smoker’s patio in the back with a HORSESHOEPIT! I love that. Friendly older guy working the bar, and the patrons seemed cool as well. I’ll have to come back here at night to see what the crowd is like after the sun goes down.
