UYE – Let’s Meet and Eat

The place looks really neat inside, our server was good as well. Yet our food arrived mostly cold, or barely warm. The burger was very juicy but fries and my breakfast potatoes were cold. I never salt my food because I don’t like it salty but here I think they forgot to salt it altogether. Not a big deal since you have salt on the table. Suggestion: bring the food HOT and 5star guaranteed next time.

Tried this place for the first time and it was great! The service is good and the food is good as well. Their special potatoes were delicious! It wasn’t your topical cube potatoes hash browns. It has somewhat of a herby blend to it. I got the breakfast burger and I was very please. Living in Elk Grove/​South Sac, there isn’t much brunch places around so this is a closer and good option for brunch. There is also much more than brunch. I didn’t explore the menu much since it was my first time but it’s for sure not my last.

My first official unofficial Unilocal event and I had to RSVP «YES» since Meet & Eat is steps from home. It was a Thursday night; I left work late and headed to the event thinking, «Man I earned my wine today». I quickly shot down my inner craving because there’s more to life than alcohol on a weekday when you’re trying to impress strangers.
I arrived ready to Meet and Eat and was eager to give this spot another go since the weekend before they were clearly overwhelmed by the crowds. My fellow Unilocalers arrived and quickly learned it would be a prohibition style meal. Imagine my delight when I realized these folks know how to get a weekday party started i.e. We need booze. Heads were quickly put together and the soirée moved to Pangaea. I’m bummed I couldn’t follow the party to Gunther’s and Hideaway but I have to save some fun for next time. All in all a great introduction to the UYE scene and I look forward to the Meet & Eat take 2 with libations. Thanks William for being an awesome host!

Meeting and Eating but no Drinking??? A UYE without alcohol??? Ok so it wasn’t intentional but uhhhh no… we’ll be moving this party elsewhere on the double!
This was a night of visiting three places I had in my stash of bookmarks: Pangaea Bier Café, Gunther’s (I know, right?!), and Hideaway. Bing Bang Boom we knocked out all three when our group assembled at Meet & Eat but were told the bad news about their liquor license :(And we all know how Unilocal Elites like to get their drink on…
So Pangaea had my personal fav, Chimay, ON TAP. That is a rare find. I saluted the Belgian monks that brew this amazing ale and enjoyed it alongside bites of flatbread (yum) and their disappointing mac and cheese (not their «usual» mac n cheese from the looks of others pics).
The night moved on to hot fudge sundaes and 50 – 50 freezes across the street at Gunther’s and more beers and giant jenga at Hideaway.
All in all a great night with the usual suspects and a couple new faces. I might not win the best chauffeur award given my certain flare for unexpected U-​Turns (hey this is not my hood people) but I enjoyed the adventure and made sure my yeeps got home safe. Yeah I’m that kind of friend ;)

I am glad we had an alternative plan even though this place is just not ready for us yet. Well there was a total of 8 Unilocalers who showed up to this event, and kudos for showing up to this fun night! Well the reason we left is because they don’t serve booze yet! Say what?! yea no booze!, and after a long day we need a drink to chill and compliment with our food too. Since they haven’t got their alcohol license yet we had to find a new place.
I am sure some might got disappointed, but majority wanted a good beverage to pair with their food and this didn’t serve our purpose. We changed the place to Pangea, we meet and eat so hey!; we did what we were suppose to do. It was great meeting some new Unilocaler friends! I love the Sac Unilocal community for knowing how to change plans at the last min and party it up.
We ended up eating and drinking and catching up with some Unilocalers. Afterwards we went to Gunthers and had to break a Unilocalers cherry with showing her what gunthers got! Its a chilly night so Chocolate fudge it was! I got an amazing pumpkin bon bon and man was it addicting and hit the spot! yes pumpkin ice cream covered with milk chocolate! 3 bites max for 85 cents isn’t too shabby i say. Great dessert for the night!
Then we were ready to continue the turnt up! so here we ended the night at hideaway bar! great time hanging in the patio and then went back inside since we were doing a lot of second hand smoke and the chilly weather. We had a Unilocaler dd 5 of us home. So we are safe and sound! Thanks B.W. for the funny moments in the car… xoxo… and the stinky egg bomb moment… Cough… (D.O)…where we almost all got suffocated for a few mins. This UYE was chill. We didn’t get to sit in a booth. The help, at Meet and greet, seemed too busy to ask if I wanted a Beer. But I soon found out that their well was dry. Really (LOL)! That’s what I said, so after a quick regroup we went to Pangea. It was my first time there and the well was running full at Pangea!
After a few wobble pops my sweet tooth kicked in and lucky me, Gunthers is right across the street. I have a love for great service and great friends. Hopefully, the next time at Meet and Greet the service will be closer to ice cream! Thanks to William and the rest of the Unilocal crew, I had fun on another Thursday Night!
