Tony and the entire Vivint crew did an amazing job installing my solar. Tony explained how the program worked and didn’t try to tell me I would save millions but showed me how I can save a decent amount on my PG&E bills. The crew installed the system in a few hours. The crew was very respectful and kept my property clean. They showed me how the system worked and Meade sure I was happy with the installation. I can’t tell you how happy I am with the system! I save a good deal of money on my electric bills every month! I did have one problem with a leak in my roof after the first rain. I made a call to customer service and with out even a question about how the leak happen, Vivint had a tech at my house repairing the leak. The leak was fixed and the sheet rock replace. You wouldn’t even know anything happened. Vivints customer service is second to none! I have never been treated with more friendly service and respect! I like the company so much I now have their home alarm system. And that my friends is another 5 star review!

I don’t like these guys. They sent a sketchy sales kid to my house, who claimed he was working with PG&E and the Utilities Commission, or some such nonsense. I wasn’t home at the time, but that’s essentially what he said to my SO. Then he tried to get into the house for a drink of water. He was asked to leave immediately without his water. A few days later, he came back when I was home. After listening to his introduction, which included a lot of language designed to confuse me as to whom he worked for(«we’re working with the state and with PG&E to get everyone converted to solar») I asked him to leave and informed him he would be trespassing if he returned. He copped a huge attitude and said I wasn’t listening. In fact I did listen, but it’s my house so I get to decide when to stop listening to complete nonsense. These companies are the lowest. Instead of delivering an honest product for a price, they’re pocketing solar subsidies designed to encourage individuals to buy panels, and then leasing the panels at high rates under false pretenses. Often people who fall for this are not saving anything over conventional power. Plus, they’ve eliminated the possibility of installing their own solar panels for the next 20 years as solar prices decline. Perhaps worse in the short term, they’ve attached a leased system to their house, making it harder to sell. Many people do not keep a house for 20 years. Many people buying a house do not want a leased system. Leased systems do not add value to a house. I know people who have passed on houses precisely because they did not want to assume a solar lease. Would you buy a house with leased furniture if you had to take over the lease? A leased car in the garage which you didn’t choose or maintain? It’s a bad idea to go for this scheme if you want to sell your house in the next 20 years. You can pay a large penalty to break the lease, and the company keeps the panels which your taxes paid for. Or your can convince a buyer to take over a lease which they will certainly be hesitant about and probably read very carefully. WSJ did an article about Arizona’s regulation of solar companies recently, and I suggest you read it if you are considering leasing a solar system. Vivint’s sales tactics suck, Vivint’s solar leases suck, and Vivint can stay off my lawn.

Neil and the whole Vivint crew have been amazing. Neil stopped by our place to tell us about the solar option that Vivint offers. It wasnt a good time(fire truck parked outside our house) so he waved and came back another day. We talked for a few minutes and scheduled a short meeting to go over how much they could save us. A meeting and an inspection later the panel are installed and we are saving on our power bill. Neil is easy to talk to, never was pushy and very knowledgeable.
