Sen, during the summer is a scene. In the winter, it’s quiet and getting a table is easy as 123! Waiting for food, isn’t a problem either. While dining at Sen, try the pork bun, shrimp shumai, spicy tuna was avocado, and special tuna roll, I believe it’s called the«Dragon» role. Service was great, as there were only about 6 other people in the restaurant. I’ll return here, during«winter in a summer town!»

My go to menu items. Shrimp wonton soup and beef chow fun — super simple dishes but well made, fresh and delicious. Great for take out if you are staying on or around Santana Row.

Only average Sushi at much higher than average prices. The tables are tiny and packed very close together. The music is intrusive and the service is slow. Basically a good place to avoid.

One of the only sake sommelier’s in the region and Jesse Matsuoka is awesome. The man knows his stuff inside and out. He has a passion for food which is great. Luke Ferrara is the chef and prepares the dishes ever so delicately. We started with the wagyu beef and it was ever so tender. Next was the port buns also a favorite. Uni from Maine mind you was sweet and fresh. I highly recommend visiting this place out east.

one of the best restaurants our east. the food has gotten sooooo much better since I first started going to s Sen 5 years ago. the service has improved tremendously and its just a fun place, with great food and drinks! i’ve was there twice in the past two weeks and just had an awesome meal both times and a great time overall. Definitively highly recommend it! their garuda and tiger rolls are great as well as the spicy tuna roll, sticky rice, shishito peppers, rock shrimp tempura, etc are. all excellent! definitively a must!

very salty beef and too much rice in their sushi. The pork bun was pretty okay.

The food was great, as usual. Jumbo shrimp shumai, and Garuda roll are two of my favorites. I was really impressed with the service yesterday. The hostess Jessica handled a particularly rude, loud, super-obnoxious customer perfectly. He was putty in her hands. My server, Warren was attentive and helpful — quite possibly the nicest person on Earth. The food and drinks are expensive, but typical for The Hamptons.

Short version: Consistently great food and attentive staff. You do pay a premium for it given the area. It is not the best place to bring young kids. Long version: I have been a long time regular at Sen. Over the years it has become like a second home to me. The food is consistently fantastic. While the prices may be marginally higher than other places around, I gladly pay the premium for consistency. I have probably eaten roughly 500+ meals there over the years and have never had a bad meal. I have had such good experiences there that I even rented out both Sen, and their previous location next door for my wedding reception and cocktails. The amount of detail that the Sen staff took care of for my wedding was beyond anything I could hope or expect. The most common complaints people have are the price point and the fact that it isn’t child friendly. My counter argument is that most of the products are brought in from the city. Given the distance it travels, I understand the higher price over some of the places in the city. As someone who has two small children, I actually enjoy the fact that it isn’t kid friendly. It is nice to get a break from people’s poorly behaved children who scream and throw food all over the place. If you have well behaved children who can sit still, there is no reason your kids can’t enjoy the restaurant.

So surprised by the the poor reviews on here! I love this place. It’s a bit pricey — but it’s good sushi + Sag Harbor — it’s going to be pricey. Not offensively priced by any means. The food here is fantastic. Fun, interesting menu. A mixture of all your classics + their own inventive dishes. Staff is all very friendly. We’ve been early so haven’t had to deal with too many issues at the door. Servers and managers have been wonderful. This will become a very very regular stop for me.

Well, let’s start off saying they are unique. Their sushi is «authentic» which is opposite of every other place in the area(confusing). Most of us know sushi as a sushi roll, which here is called Maki, not sushi. Then there’s sushi, a piece of fish over rice, boring, and sashimi, a piece of fish, even more boring. I guess this is popular otherwise it shouldn’t be on the menu. Another guy who wasn’t our server, explained the difference. We sat outside and were neglected. The staff, and host/hostess were more interested talking among themselves than coming over to our table although we stared at them through the window. I don’t want to come back here.

Mediocre is the best I can say for food and service. Expensive for what it is but that is a function of location. Their miso broth is actually quite bad which is the base for their ramen noodle soups. Avoid.

Okay so I would say the service was a 2 but the food was a 3… however the people dominate my review. As soon as we sat and started asking questions of the waiter he was obviously annoyed and told us that everyone called out tonight and to stick to the menu and no accommodations could be met… it was kind of like just be happy with what you get considering we’re serving. We ordered a lot of different items; the beef negamaki definitely stood out… so much so that we tried to order it again and when we did they said it was the last serving; I mean cooked beef, really?! The rolls were decent, everything we ordered was just okay/the sake was great but the attitudes and overall atmosphere was stiff and starchy… have no desire to ever go back! Sag harbor, you can do better…

Love this place!!! Definitely on top as one of my favorites in Sag Harbour and probably the only place that has decent Japanese food. The pork bun is a must try!!!

Not what it used to be. This was the first summer that I did not enjoy my experience here. The menu has changed — several of my favorite rolls are no longer offered — and the quality of the food has also gone downhill. The Sen Salad was a staple — the dressing was made in house earlier that day(and you could tell!) and overall a great way to start dinner. This year I was shocked by not only the size(tiny) but the relative bland taste of the dressing and the water that had collected at the bottom of the plate(ie, the greens had not dried before being plated). The sushi was also a letdown. One roll out of six we ordered we really enjoyed — the others were just so so. Sen sushi used to have the freshest fish and most inventive rolls. I hope management reviews all comments from this summer — it doesn’t look like I’m alone — and makes the changes to return to the top of its game for next year ! At that price point it needs to.

5 Stars all the way! This place rocks. Edamame was fresh, al dente, perfect. Miso soup perfectly flavored, just the right touch of saltiness. Spicy tuna crispy rice was amaaaazing. Also sampled a same and had a glass of wine, both of which were gulpable! Great selection, fresh, delicious. I’m pleased, and I am hard to please! Service was also great with two servers keeping an eye on me, and chatting me up. :) wonderful experience here. It gets packed after 6pm though, so get in early. I came at 5:39 like a smart cookie. :p

I was highly recommended this restaurant by a bartender in East Hampton village. Last night I went and waited half and hour to be seated because it was so packed. When I finally sat down I tried ordering some sushi and the waiter told me that there was a 45 minute wait for the sushi because they were so packed and understaffed. 20 minutes later the waiter comes back and tells me that the sushi bar has been closed due to the fact that the sushi ran out. Very disappointed at this restaurant. I recommend to go to Zokkon which in a very nice sushi place in East Hampton by Red Horse Market.

I was looking forward this place and boy was I disappointed. My mom and her bf said they were completely satisfied with their food; mom’s bf said the sushi was wonderful. The beef negimaki was all the rave as well. I didn’t do my usual tasting because I was trying to save my mom’s bf money. So, I ordered a sweet potato tempura roll which was not cooked right at all and not served with eel sauce. When I asked for eel sauce, they tried to pass off siracha instead and yeah, that doesn’t go. I also ordered a spicy yellowtail roll with extra scallions and crunch; most places make this by mashing everything in a bowl — they literally just took a chunk of yellowtail, no scallion, pieces of crunch and put in a roll and threw some spicy mayo on top. Gross. Upside is the service and free tea.

Popped in recently for a bite after a movie. Good, solid fresh food. Started with the ramen noodle soup– perfect for a chilly night. Big tender pieces of pork belly, spinach, mushrooms and bamboo. The broth was hearty and rich. I sat at the sushi bar– the sushi chef gave me a little plate of local razor clam sushi. Incredibly fresh and a very nice touch. For my entrée I had one of the special rolls that night– the Tornado roll. Spicy tuna wrapped in rice with Japanese shredded potato, lightly tempura’d on the outside. To die for! Served with a side of spicy mayo– I was in heaven. I also ordered wild ocean trout sashimi — tender, lean and fresh. The service was friendly, efficient, and knowledgable. I’ll be back soon to try their Tasting menu, which is their version of a price fix.
