There were a group of 4 guys for this trip. The food was ok, not over the top best BBQ and not the absolute worse. I felt that I would want better for the price. Our waiter was the most annoying I have ever had. I am not sure if he thought being monotone semi-rude, semi-trying to be cool was the best approach, but all he did was annoy us and make me want to eat faster and leave, tho his actions of loudly cleaning floors and tables didn’t make us want to eat slowly nor hang around for dessert. I would try it again, but never with the same waiter we had.

It may be a chain but the ribs are decent. I got the St. Louis Ribs & Meat Combo($ 17.79) with brisket, which had some fat deposits but still managed to be slightly dry. The ribs, however, were perfect with a nice smoke ring, great flavour, and came off the bone easily. I went with the hottest sauce Wilbur’s Revenge, grilled on, and it was very spicy! Normally I don’t like cornbread too sweet but in this case it helped cut through the spicy ribs. The green beans were bland with a lot of water at the bottom of the bowl and I could have skipped them. The collard greens were ok. Next time I think I’ll get just the ribs and collard greens again along with the mashed potatoes. Service was good but afterwards I noticed there was a similar lunch option to my order and was surprised that it wasn’t pointed out. That’s on me too, I didn’t even see the lunch menu hiding under the drink menu.

I never would have imagined that I would be craving BBQ so much that I’d look for it in Michigan. I didn’t have super high hopes for this place since I’m from Texas, but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Texas Brisket BBQ Sandwich with the garlic red-skin mashed potatoes. The brisket was cut up in small chunks and didn’t come with any sauce because there are five different sauces at each table. I chose the Texas Pit sauce. It was good but it was a little too spicy for me. The mashed potatoes were good too, though I’d probably get fries next time. The only thing I thought was weird was how the menu mentioned that the sandwiches came with a side of fire pickles. I thought this meant I was getting a side of fried pickles with a spicy dipping sauce. What I ended up getting was three pickle slices with some red stuff sprinkled on them. Maybe it’s a Michigan thing? Oh well. I still left satisfied and I probably didn’t need another side anyway. Overall, I’ll most likely stop by again to try their famous ribs and possibly the brownie that looked so amazing on the dessert menu.

This place is great! Haven’t had a bad experience here yet and it’s pretty consistent. Service is usually pretty good, but the food is fantastic. The brisket burgers are some of the best I’ve ever had, especially the Dave’s Favorite Burger, but the steak fries are also great in their own right. Absolutely worth stopping in here.

The rib tips and fries appetizer is always burnt, which means it’s usually no good. However, I love love love the Georgia chopped pork on their loaded baked potatoes at lunch, or on a sandwich topped with cole slaw at dinner. Their corn muffins are great! I am a die hard fan of their garlic mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese.

The food is pretty good here. However upon arrival to this place at 11am, I know not to order the ribs. If you do, you’ll get ones left over from the previous day that just are not up to par with what you’d expect to pay $ 25 for. The burnt ends are awesome. The sides too. When you do get a rack of ribs that are freshly done, you’ll enjoy them!

I love this place! Why? because there is never a long line, and you can eat like a complete pig and no one cares! We usually get the platter for a family. It has corn on the cob, beans, chicken, brisket, ribs, cornbread and cole slaw. The corn is awesome, the beans are ok, but we usually don’t eat them– they put too much pork in them… the chicken is bbq-ey awesome, the brisket is my favorite– but it’s a hit or miss– sometimes it’s just perfect, and sometimes it has a lot of fat on it and the pieces are small…, i don’t eat ribs, but they say they are good– the kids eat them up! The cornbread is the BEST!!! Sometimes we will order extra because it’s that good! The cole slaw is also tasty! We get out of there spending about $ 60 for 4 people. Not bad. You get sauce all up in your finger nails but its cool. There are about 6 different sauces at the table you can use ranging from mild and sweet to super spicy. Our wait staff has always been very friendly. We stop here almost every time we are in Saginaw– which is about every 3 months.

Perfect! Where else do there BBQ onsite, all others are frozen and thawed. Love the assortment of sauces. Maybe a bit over priced on cocktails, or a bit skimpy on serving size. All in all a total 5 star.

Good tasty bbq. I tried their two meat platter and was pleasantly surprised I didn’t much care for the corn bread muffin or bread and butter pickle but I did enjoy the beef brisket and rib tips. And we had one of the sweetest waitress very friendly and helpful and I just can’t say enough about her she is what made the whole lunch experience well worth it for us. And the manager even came by gave us both punch cards for future visits awesome indeed. I’m not giving it the best rating because I’m not a fan of their cornbread or pickles. But I recommend this bbq place for some down home bbq.

Pretty darn good restaurant, good prices and good service. The restaurant was clean(which means a lot to me!) and it has easy parking. The serving sizes are big, I always have left overs. :)

I’ve been to Famous Dave’s only a handful of times, and its so hard to mess up smoked meats. I’ve had a variety of things on this menu, chicken wings, brisket, ribs, burgers… all really great. Plus, the staff is actually really nice and we are greeted pleasantly when we walk in. I love everything about this place.

I’ve given so many tips, thought I would finally give this restaurant it’s due. The ribs are fantastic period. One review said they did not like Famous Dave’s. they had chicken and brisket. When you go for spaghetti you don’t eat Chinese(if it was on the menu). Although they have chicken and brisket and other things, this is a rib house! Order ribs! I lived in Florida 29 years and Sonny’s was the place for ribs. This place tops that. My husband is not a barbecue person, but he likes these ribs. I have nothing to say that’s negative about this place. It’s clean, nicely decorated, wait staff are very friendly, cater to your needs, and the ribs are super good. What else could you ask for?

I don’t understand why folks like this place. I’ve been here twice and was disappointed both times. This week I ordered a brisket and chicken combo. The brisket was not slow cooked like one would expect and was tough and fatty. Obviously they don’t know the concept of «low and slow». The BBQ chicken was very mediocre to boot. I would never go back especially at the prices they charge. They may have been great at one time and won some awards but it looks like those days are long gone now that they are owned by a large corporate entity. On a positive note, the cole slaw was good and the BBQ sauce was pretty tasty, but I went home hungry.

Went for lunch on a Thursday. The restaurant was doing nice business, but not too crowded, which was great! I’ve had ribs on my mind for 3 days, and this place had 5 stars on Unilocal! Not rocket science… I got the 2 meat lunch plate with ribs and hot links, and my friend got the ribs and catfish. The ribs are«world famous and I completely believe it! They were St. Louis baby back style spare ribs, and were delicious. On the table were 6 different kinds of sauce… and I enjoyed most of them. But I also ordered the Pineapple-Habanero on the side, and it was ridiculously sweet and hot and perfect! I had to add a few drops of their XXX hot bbq sauce, but that made it wonderful. The hot links(wow! They aren’t red!) seemed hand-made with great flavor and spice, with just enough heat to make my sweat a little! Awesome! The catfish fingers were deep-fried on the outside, but soft and tender on the inside. No complaints from a picky eater! 5 stars!

Great BBQ. Great Service. For an appetizer I always go with the wings! They’re my favorite wings around. Always come out hot and perfectly crisp yet juicy. You can choose them to be tossed in one of their famous BBQ sauces or traditional buffalo. I’ve had both, and I love both. My suggestion would be to do half and half-BBQ and buffalo. If you’re not in the mood for wings, I suggest trying the chicken and wild rice soup. It is creamy and delicious and so obviously homemade. The chili is great too. I would like the chili more if it were a little spicier, but that’s just a personal preference. If this is your first time in, for dinner go for The Feast! It’s a huge sampler of ribs, chicken, pork and brisket. A great chance to try it all. It also comes with two sides– all of the side dishes are great-and corn on the cob and cornbread. Huge meal that feeds two or choose the Feast for 4, which obviously feeds 4 people. They also have great combos and sandwiches. The burgers are also some of the best around too. I really do just like this place, especially for a chain restaurant.

I’ve been here a handful of times, and all at various times of the day. I can say, I have yet to ever have bad service or bad food. Their ribs are always fantastic, but even their sides are great. And their Corn Muffins are enough for you to ask for a take home pack(which they do sell) — very moist and tasty

Great place for rib’s. Apparently world famous. The quality of food is great. Meat practically falls off the baby back ribs. Also, the food is complimented with 6 different types of sauce. My favorite is «Devil’s spit.» If you get the family meal(for 4), it’s served on the underside of a trash can lid. Creative. Portions are good. The best side dishes are the corn(fresh and sweet) and macaroni and cheese, which is a little spicy. Environment: lots of people. Waiters are happy. If busy, they may mix up orders.
