The worst experience ever! We went in and we had been to an event earlier in the day. We were quiet and reserved but someone next to us decided we were not what they seemed as suitable neighbors. No foul language or inappropriate comments were used. However management decided to not observe the situation and provide derogatory comments to use. We will NEVER patronize this dstablusjment

The sole reason this review is 3 stars instead of 2 is because of Jessica. Wish I could give 3.5. Dinner on a Sunday night at 4:20PM took 90 minutes. We sat at the bar. Ordered the Vermont Breakfast & American burgers. Our medium & medium rare burgers were both medium well :(My husband was so hungry, he didn’t want to send it back and wait all over again. Burgers were still OK& had great flavors. We waited almost 30 minutes for milkshakes. Jessica was amazing handling a busy bar counter– she saw that our wait was long & went above and beyond to make our shakes herself. Shakes were tasty! Jessica was personable & attentive to every customer at the bar as well! Will probably return, but not anytime soon.

Our burgers haven’t arrived yet but quite frankly they can be of McDonald’s quality and it would not deter me from returning to this wonderful bar and enjoying all these fantastic local St. Louis beers.

I went in on a later night and I didn’t really know what to expect being new to the area at the time, my mind was blown the first time I went there. I have gone subsequent times just for the ice cream alone. The boozey shakes are pretty interesting and the burger variety is really fun.

First time and last time: Fried pickles: solid effort here. Tempura style batter. Pickes were good and def homemade. Slightly spicy. Unfortunately this came out after the burger so I didn’t get much of a chance to enjoy them. American Burger: the patty was adorable. Like a little meatball with a flattened top and bottom. On top of which was a fried dollop of Mac and cheese. Both were bland. Super bland. I was expecting lots of flavor from this combo but unfortunately it just didn’t deliver. The bun was good. So there’s that. Banana split: got the brownie chunk and cookies and cream ice creams. The ice creams were good but drowned in a ton of whipped cream. Deserves was the highlight of the meal. It wasn’t amazing but relative to the rest of the meal, it was a stand-out. Service was good. Fast.

If you like burgers, beer, or milk shakes. This is THEPLACE! We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon, the place was busy, but not crowded. We sat at the bar, so I tried a draft beer(they have a huge selection of local taps), having a 9oz option is great since I’m not a big drinker. We both had burgers, I had the Poivre, which was aged sirloin, with goat cheese and bacon jam. My companion(14yr old daughter) had the Wicked Apple burger, which featured a pear and apple compote. They were awesome! We shared a large order of fries, which was more than enough for the two of us, and amazing! Bartender serving us was great and helpful with questions and discussions on the menu. Pretty much exclusively burgers, broad choice of meats, and veggie patty options, a few interesting salads and great fries. Big selection of liquor, adult milk shakes, and other interesting cocktails, and a complete ice cream/shake shop. You cannot go wrong.

How have I not reviewed the Range yet? One of the few«Bailey’s» restaurants you’ll find around STL. The biggest thing I love about these places is the«Farm-to-table» food. Menus revolving around the season, locally sourced meats for the burgers, and heck, even the tap beer selection is local! I enjoy the selection of unique beef, bison or even goat burgers, as well as trying the variety of dipping sauces for your fries. You feel like you are dining in a cleaned up barn while here… and I mean that in a good way. The décor appears to have been salvaged parts of farm houses and barns. Adding to the home on the range feeling and something I’ve never seen anywhere else(other than an Amish family restaurant) is the long«family-style» table running through the middle of the building. It encourages sitting next to strangers and making new friends! I love it. Before arriving, they do not take reservations, so don’t bother. Also, parking is on the street if you can find a spot. Otherwise there are plenty of lots and garages within walking distance. Enjoy!

I was trying not to entirely plan out what restaurants I wanted to hit up, and this was a spur of the moment choice based on its location and that I hadn’t even seen it prior to looking at what was near my hotel. For how dead it was on my walk over, I was pleasantly surprised there were a lot of people on a Friday night. The set up inside reminded me of a more industrial version of Flip here in Atlanta. I sat at the bar since I was by myself and of course had to get started with the beer menu. Pretty much every single beer is local or from MO, and there is a 9 oz option so I was amped to get to try a couple things. I had Stone and 4Hands collab Sorry Not Sorry, which I knew I could get at home but honestly I’m sure it was cheaper here, and then Citrapolis from Modern Brewery. Both were really good, yay IPAs. For a burger, I had Dave’s Chop House: aged sirloin, steak sauce, bacon jam, smoked gouda, and rosemary cream cheese. For sounding like it has a lot going on, it didn’t taste like it. I’m still not sure if that is a good or bad thing, given all of this stuff. The gouda and the bacon jam was probably the most potent. Still a damn fine burger. I also got fries and love that there are sauces you get to choose from, as a huge fan of mayo with fries, bonus points that they come with the most options. I had the chipotle mayo with mine. I desperately wanted ice cream too because as part of their little battle thing, blood orange cheesecake was one of the options and goddamn do I love blood orange and cheesecake. But I didn’t want to throw up in City Museum so I refrained. This is a solid place for a burger and I love that whole burger/ice cream battle so that you could really could always come here and get something new. While we have tons and tons of burger places here in the A, I would loooove somewhere to do something like that! Definitely a solid burger spot and they must make bank by being an awesome spot downtown that it can be hopping while everything around is dead.

OMG this place is amazing! I had the PB&J and French fries with the Rooster sauce. So dang good. The place is a bit smoky from the burgers cooking and I’m pretty sure I smell like a burger but so worth it. We sat upstairs which I was glad because downstairs is just a bar and very long community table. I got a milkshake to go because everyone on Unilocal said to :) and it was great! Baileys and espresso! Will be back!

Our experience was a cascading parade of errors. First of all, their burgers are too flipping small. Seriously, where’s the beef? They messed up my order, cooking my bison burger to medium temp when I asked for medium rare, and gave my husband the wrong dipping sauce for the fries. The waiter took ten minutes to take our order, and forgot to give us water, and even napkins when the food finally arrived after almost a half an hour. Two burgers and an order of fries, not worth the hassle, and mediocre quality at that. I was not impressed when this place first opened, and I’m less impressed now.

Nice selection of burgers(basically different flavored toppings) in a nice space with parking next door. Service was really slow at the bar, and the hostess staff working the door were distracted and disorganized. The burgers were good despite not being cooked to temp requested. Fries with siracha mayo and ketchup rounded out a decent quick lunch. 3 stars is a fine rating for fast casual, and if they tighten up a little on the service side they’ll earn another star easily. I missed out on trying their shakes which is still bugging me… they looked good.

They definitely put some thought into this décor. Nice vibe. Only one vegan option for burgers(I think, anyway), but a good fig salad. The sauces for the fries are good. All in all good but not great. The burger was pretty dry. The 4 Hands Brewery Single was a great beer. The Julep was also good but not great. Far too syrup-y.

My fiancé and I visited Baileys’ Range after the Braggin’ Rights game this week. We already had dinner earlier in the night so we came in for some craft beers. We each had a 4 Hands beer. They had two great barrel-aged options that we weren’t able to get at the brewery earlier in the day. Yum! We shared the pretzel appetizer and a scoop of homemade salted caramel ice cream. Everything was delicious — fresh and local.

I guess it is a burger and shake place. I was served a burger about the size of a hockey puck. I ordered it medium and it was served well done. It was just too dry. The burger was supposed to come with catsup, mustard and mayo on it. If it was I could not find it. I ordered a side of French fries and it was served with the house made catsup. The fries were good the catsup was bad. Very little flavor compared to your favorite name brand catsup. I was disappointed in the catsup as much as the burger as it was touted on the menu as having all these wonderful ingredients. Which like the burger condiments was non detectable. The venue was old industrial hoping to look modern. It looked really tired and old to me. We were seated on the second floor which is accessible by a very narrow and steep stairway. My thought on the stairway is hope there is no fire because you will not escape this place. Was asked if I would come back and no I would not. Just did not meet any expectations I had. And the bill was $ 100 with tip. Nope they got me once.

The burger was pretty good(i.e. average) but I still can’t get over the absolutely pretentious lack of bottled ketchup. The reason the Heinz company is full of millionaires is because they simply do it better, and there’s no shame in that. Your ketchup is too sweet… And do you have any idea how hard it is to eat a burger, let alone fries, without actual ketchup??? It’s basically impossible. It pretty much ruined the meal for me, making every single bite less enjoyable than it could have been. It was like *bite* «sigh» *bite* «sigh» over and over. I’ll pass on this place. Ketchup enjoyers, bring your own packets if you must go. Sitting through a meal here is painful at best without it.

While visiting St. Louis, my wife and I met a friend at Bailey’s Range. We asked him to think of a place that 1) was downtown 2) had good cocktails and 3) had a good craft beer selection. This hit all 3 marks. I was very impressed by the beer list. It was almost entirely local breweries: 2nd Shift, 4 Hands, Broadway, Civil Life, Ferguson, Modern Brewing, O’Fallon, Perennial, Schlafly, and Urban Chestnut. My friend Stephen and I ordered several half-pints so we could try more. Together we had Public House Revelation Stout, Perennial Jack Rose(my first braggot!), Perennial Suburban Beverage, 2nd Shift Ratsalad, Schlafly Tasmanian IPA, and 4 Hands Chocolate Milk Stout. My wife came for the cocktails. She was very pleased with the unique cocktails she tried: strawberry basil lemonade, a mojito, and some rumchata shots. We also tried some of the french fries. The fries were good, but what made them so unique is the homemade ketchup. The atmosphere of this restaurant is great. Essentially, there is one long table running through the middle of the restaurant(and there is also more seating upstairs). This seating kind of forces you to interact with your neighbors. The lamp shade over the tables are old milk cans. The paintings and decorations gave off a 50’s diner burger and shakes kind of place. While we managed to rack up quite a bill. .. the prices were reasonable!

A 2.5 star Meh-A-OK really. I had high expectations based on all the reviews, but it looks like my decision to eat at 11pm isn’t the only thing questionable here. I got the whiskey bbq burger, which was $ 12.12 before tip. The burger itself was not made-to-order. I asked for it medium, but came out well done and dry. The fresh, house baked buns weren’t very fresh, but I can’t blame them for that when coming in so late. I was the only order in the kitchen, so it wasn’t like the chef was overwhelmed with other orders. The sweet potato chips were cold and soggy. Overall, it was an expensive mediocre burger. The only good that came out of this was because it was a small burger, I probably saved myself a few hundred calories.

I’ve been here twice, both times as a party of three. I had Dave’s chop house burger the first time and had it cooked medium rare. It was bloodier than the typical medium rare and was not as good as I had anticipated. I ordered it after reading the rave reviews, but it just didn’t really wow me. Thinking that my first experience must have been a fluke(because really, the Unilocal reviews indicate otherwise), I came back again with two other friends. This time I ordered the pb and j, which is also another favorite among Unilocalers. I asked for medium rare again(true carnivore here) with a side of fries with ketchup and their signature rooster sauce. Boy. The burger was absolutely delicious. I don’t even like goat cheese, but every ingredient blended so well together that I actually enjoyed the goat cheese. I also like pickles so having a pickle on the side was a nice touch. The fries were very delicious and the rooster sauce did not disappoint. I would suggest ordering an additional sauce that is lighter if you’re also going to order a mayo based sauce. Our service was a bit slow even though the place was pretty empty. Even still, I’ll most likely be back with a designated driver to sample their impressive alcohol /boozy drinks selection!

This was my third visit to the this place, yet it was the first time my burger was even slightly interesting. It was more than that, it was great! I always wanted this place to be awesome, but every burger I ordered was under seasoned and bland. Not to mention the high price! You pay upwards of $ 10 for a burger patty that is only slightly bigger than a slider and you don’t get a side with it. Now I’m willing to pay that when the meat quality is top notch(which I believe theirs is) and when the flavor is amazing(which it hadn’t been until yesterday). So, maybe it’s time for me to give this place another try. I have actually always been a fan of their fries, their house made sauces and their onion rings. Their ice cream was never really my favorite. I really prefer a creamier ice cream and I feel theirs is on the ice side. However, I think I’ve come to appreciate their special brand on ice cream and accepted that it’s just different. My favorite flavor is cinnamon and my husband really likes the cookies and cream. I got to sample their chai and that was delicious as well! Annoyances worth mentioning: The service! I’ve always had servers with decent attitudes, but they’ve never been terribly attentive. I always feel like I’m looking around for them and waiting for them to come back. I don’t know if they’re understaffed? The noise! This place is super echo-ey and super loud! It made it pretty hard to carry on a conversation. Parking. It’s not easy or cheap. Community seating. I’ve been at the community table two out of my three visits. Both times I was lucky enough not be sat right next to strangers. But it’s still nit my favorite style of seating… Over all, I know I’m going to go back to this place. Especially since I finally found a burger worth paying for.
