I was shocked to see the Carly S. review of the best doctor I have ever had. Dr. Ellena has been my main doctor for over 17 years. His bedside manner is soft, compassionate and totally caring. Even the nurses and office staff, share his positive approach to patient care. When medical issues have required a specialist, Dr. Ellena has always gotten me in touch with best and most qualified within my current insurance plan. I have and will continue to recommend Dr. Ellena to friends, coworkers and to my fellow Unilocalers who may be in need of a new doctor. If you did not notice, when Carly wrote her review of Dr. Ellena 6 out of her 9 were 1’s.

I am writing this review with the hope of sparing someone else the utter exasperation and disgust that we have experienced after dealing with this doctor. Having been a long-time patient of his, I can say that he started out seeming to be a wonderful doctor. However, as time has gone on and we have had situations that have increasingly required more frequent dealings with him, we have found that he has been a serious disappointment as a physician. I cannot begin to say how many times there have been tests but no results, requests for refills but no prescription, repeated phone calls to the office but no return call, and an overall sense of being hurried & rushed out during appointments. As I believe most people would agree, when medical issues arise we want our physician to be thorough and attentive, but when simple requests for services needed by seriously ill patients require repeated phone calls to the office AND the exchange and many days later still nothing, this is unacceptable from a physician and shows a serious lack of patient care. Unfortunately, trying to address these matters with him seems futile because he becomes hostile and defensive, yells & screams, and refuses to acknowledge any responsibility. Needless to say, we are still waiting for the genuine concern and a humble apology. This is truly a sad commentary given a long-standing doctor/patient relationship, but I would definitely NOT recommend this doctor to anyone. I believe the quality of patient care is sorely lacking and patients are left feeling as though they really don’t matter.(In response to «Steven» above, I suppose like most people I’m not as quick to speak out about the many people/businesses who provide wonderful services but, on the other hand, am much more compelled to warn others when they are patently awful. Sparing someone a bad experience, or at least warning them to proceed cautiously, always takes precedence in my book.)
