Kind of hit or miss. If you ask for Mac & Cheese instead of coleslaw on a meal, you’re still gonna get coleslaw. There just doesn’t seem to be any way around it. Food tastes good though.

When i rate fast food it is based on how it stacks up to other chains in the brand. This one is bad. 10 pieces in the 12 piece bucket and the following picture is one of them. And no, no one took a bite of the chicken before we got it, or after for that matter. Just an indication that the quality control is lacking. As far as chains go, well it would be like rating a MCDonalds. If you haven’t had KFC before, you are not really missing out on good fried chicken. But, it is a very famous fast food chain and i recommend trying it at least once in your life. Just don’t go to this one.

I decided to try out their new $ 5 meal. This is a slightly dated, worn looking restaurant. But don’t let that deter you. The servers were friendly and as prompt as possible. Who ever did the design/work flow never worked there though. The workers were constantly going all around to complete not only my order but ALL the orders. The chicken was good and fresh. The portion of mashed potatoes was more than enough. In fact, I was very full for $ 5. I haven’t been to a KFC in ages but if I go again I’ll go here.

For me the location of this KFC seems a bit odd. You know, typically you find fast food in groups of 2 – 4 near each other. This one is kind of by itself at the intersection of Big Bend and Shrewsbury. Other than that its a normal KFC. The chicken satisfies that craving. Last time I went they were very generous with the portion size of the potato wedges which was nice because the meals are kind of expensive(for fast food). I think we spent like $ 19 for two value meals and an extra chicken strip for the baby. They were fast with the order and friendly enough(I mean it is fast food and the bar is pretty low). I would go here again if the craving strikes but nothing is so good that I wouldn’t be open to other chains.

Wasn’t expecting anything special, but learned that there are no chicken pot-pies available at this location. If you’ve never had one, they are great!

When: March 6 Why: Traditional Sunday Dinner We decided we wanted to have a traditional Sunday dinner, so we choose fried chicken. It is amazing how a television commercial promoting 10 pieces for $ 10 pushes you over the edge.(Next Sunday, I’m cooking a pot roast myself.) I remember when all KFC had was the original flavor. Now you get to choose between, original, crispy and grilled. We mixed our bucket with original and crispy. For an extra $ 6, I got to add two sides and four biscuits. I love the Cole Slaw. In fact I have been know to buy large containers, place in a «cover dish» and take it to a pot luck picnic. We selected Mash Potatoes as our other side, fried chicken and MP’s just seem to go together. I’d prefer a nice white milk gravy, but their brown is seasoned well. What made this KFC stand out was the customer service. The young ladies behind the counter were cheerful and actually seemed to be enjoying their job. Brad loves thighs so I asked the young lady if she could make sure we got two thighs in each flavor. She giggled at the way I asked her and said she’d do her best. I didn’t care what the other six were as long as he had his thighs. She made it happen. For those of you who are doing math and figuring 10 pieces is a lot for two people, don’t worry. Four pieces were left over for lunch the next day.
