This place not only had amazing service! They are also vegan friendly. I had a pizza with vegan cheese and toppings that the server helped me decide. DELISH.

A great pizzeria right down the street from the hotel where we were staying. We ordered the Kirkwood on a thin crust(also known as the St Louis style crust). The crust was robust and crispy with a sweet red sauce. Our server Pagie was great! Definitely recommend

St. Louis-style pizza is a thing. It’s a thin cracker-like crust pizza cut into squares instead of wedges. However, on our hunt for pizza on a recent trip to St. Louis, we didn’t find a lot of places that serve it St. Louis style. What I did find was perhaps one of the most intriguing pizzas I have ever come across and I made it a must-have during our visit. The Bookmark pizza from Pi Pizzeria. The Bookmark is a thin-crust pizza with kale, roasted root vegetables(listed on the menu as parsnip, carrots and rutabaga), ricotta, flake salt, and Mike’s Hot Honey. I have had a few people tell me it doesn’t sound too appetizing but I assure you, they’re wrong. It is quite pleasing and delicious! I happen to be a big fan of Mike’s Hot Honey as well– it’s honey infused with chilies. Most restaurants I have seen use it as an ingredient are in the New York City area so seeing Mike’s Hot Honey at Pi Pizzeria in St. Louis was a special treat. And it was excellent on a pizza with vegetables normally deemed as bitter. The deep dish pizzas offered here are all made with a cornmeal crust as is the flatbread served with hummus. A perfect choice for a light appetizer before pizza. Don’t forget to save room for the apple pie with a cornmeal crust or the chocolate skillet cake. A full bar is also available to serve your thirst.

Great pizza! I’ve been here several times and had the Chicago style and the thin crust. Both are amazing and I highly recommend you give this place a try.

Stopped in after a baseball game and didn’t have to wait for a table. We ordered a small salad to share and a deep dish pizza. The salad was flavorful and well dressed and the small was perfect for 2 to share. The deep dish pizza was also very tasty and the tomato sauce on mine was particularly flavorful. If we were locals we would be back!

Still not impressed, but I have been back to this location many times since my initial review, in part because the owner reached out – though I was unable to redeem the voucher he sent me because none of the employees working at the time knew how to accept it – and due to the restaurant’s proximity to my workplace. The employees have always been very courteous since. My experience with the bartender in the initial review was thankfully an anomaly. The food is sometimes pretty good and can justify the prices, but other times I am left disappointed. I know I’ll be returning since my co-workers like this place, but will avoid the soup & salad lunch deal. Might be better to stick to either the large salad or a stand-alone soup order.

Really good pizza. Nice atmosphere and beer selection. And tonight they had great music playing! This appears to be a place for the locals, it got very busy around 5:30. Service was good.

President Obama loves this pizza, so I figured I’d give it a try. My husband and I came here for lunch on the weekend. Tip: Arrive before noon to beat the crowds. Our server suggested that we try the garlic bread. It was unique because the bread comes from a local baker. We were instructed to apply the roasted garlic first, then add the butter. The garlic bread is not bad, but we should have ordered a salad instead. They all looked amazing! We were encouraged to share a large deep dish pizza with the cornmeal crust. I love that you have the option of splitting specialty pizza, so we had ½ Berkeley(mozz, zucchini, portabella, red pepper, kalamata, onion, garlic) and ½ Western Addition(mozz, baby spinach, mushroom, onion, ricotta, feta, garlic). Both were equally delicious! Pi Pizzeria is a popular pizza in St. Louis and I hope they will expand their brand to the west coast.

I can’t say enough nice things about the décor and atmosphere of this restaurant. It has a very modern industrial look, a huge window for a wall looking out into the street. The bar is hip and its premium spirits are displayed from a shelf descending from the ceiling. They also play modern classic rock, alt rock from the 90’s, which is fairly unique and appreciated. The restaurant is noisy but not too loud, very good acoustic balance. The food: I would highly recommend getting a salad to start. It was perfectly plated and dressed. The flavor combinations were brilliant with bleu cheese crumbles, dried cranberries, sliced almonds for texture, and an exquisite raspberry vinaigrette over the bed of super fresh roughage. It blended so well together, just amazing. Beautifully plated too. Our main course was the Kirkwood deep dish, which is just a deep dish pizza with meatballs as the topping. This isn’t quite Chicago deep dish, close but not quite. The cornmeal crust is just a bit too thick and the mozzarella isn’t generous enough. Too much crust and not enough mozzarella kind of sinks the pizza in my eyes. It’s good, just not quite Giordano’s or Lou Malnati’s. I had no issues with the service, our server was Jackson and he was knowledgeable and friendly. Great tip on the salad, Jackson! Great atmosphere, GREAT salads, but the deep dish is so-so.

After an event at the convention center, we popped over to Pi across the street to warm up and fill our tummies. The pizza was excellent, brought out nice and hot. However once the pizza came, the waiter disappeared. Our drinks were not filled as much as one would hoped and the only time he came back around was when he thought we were done so he could box it up. So hopefully they can improve this aspect because their food is delicious!

I kinda think about pizza like I think about s*x. As long as I’m getting it I’m not super concerned about the quality… But hold up! Pi made me think twice about my philosophy. This was so thick, delicious, cheesy, and warm that maybe I shouldn’t settle for that dang totinos pizza. Now granted it did take a little more time and money but boy was it worth it. Much better atmosphere to enjoy my pizza than usual, had to wait for it longer than most pizza, but in the end when I saw that baby sprawled out in front of me I could barely hold back my excitement. After enjoying that hearty slice of pizza I’ll think again about putting just anything in my mouth. Thank you Pi for helping set some standards in my life.

Guys… This is the real deal here. I ordered garlic bread with cheese to go(menu unseen). We expected bread slices with painted on garlic spread and some sort of light cheese drizzled on top. I was stopped in my tracks when we got back to our hotel and opened this Heaven sent, fresh, garlic bread loaf with heaping baked in chunks of fresh mozzarella cheese. That massive glove of garlic on the left(I’ll post a photo in tip section) is the size of my palm. I opted to wrap it in a towel to discard it at the lobby bar so staff could toss it outside. The dipping sauce is a mix of garlic and whipped butter(I think) and equally amazing. Very rich for a snack but I’m sure this would be even more incredible right out of the oven. One piece in and I’ve asked that God have this waiting for me at the pearly gates upon my arrival. #wortheverymileonthetreadmill #teamgarlic

Second time going to Pi while visiting STL. Obviously I recommend, since we went back! The pizza is so good! They have great specialty options, or you can make your own, of course. I had the Grove on Gluten Free crust.(See pic) –Delish! The husband chose the Hill deep dish. Also Delish! Brother-in-law & sister-in-law had the thin crust with pepperoni and banana peppers — also Delish, and they are what you would call regulars. The only negative(which I did not take stars away for), was that I ordered a GF pale ale(was super excited that they had Omission — my fave), and they brought out a lager, which though was immediately corrected, both beers were out of date and skunked. I realize that not many people drink gluten free beers, but… I’m still paying for it, so I would like it to be fresh. Highly recommend when visiting STL to stop in here for a great Pi!

Ordered the deep dish Kirkwood. It’s ok. I guess in my heart of hearts I will always be a New York thin crust guy. The sauce could use the addition of reduced red wine to balance out the flavors. Also the pizza slice cutter they bring you is not ambidextrous. So it’s awkward for a lefty to use. I feel discriminated against. Certainly not bad pizza, but I will look for another pizza joint downtown.

Great place with great food. However today the hostess needs to find a personality and a new job. She did not greet us, just grabbed 2 menus and walked to our table and put the menus down. Never a smile, never a word nothing. Her body language is obvious she does not want to be here today. Since being seated I have watched her seat 4 more tables and the exact same thing has happened. Even customers look at her as she walks away then at each other like… Well that was rude… Can’t go wrong with their ford though, it’s always good.

Pi is known all over St. Louis and for good reason, their awesome pizza! Pi is a refreshing slice of heaven in an area full of crappy«STL style» pizza. Make sure to try the Central West End, the combo of goat cheese and prosciutto is to die for.

Don’t come by yourself. The place is big enough and plenty of room for a crowd. A personal pie minimum price is is $ 17 so it’s good to split the bill with another as the pie was a decent size. The bathroom is no where close and is literally in the next building, down the hall and around the corner. I came midday so service was prompt. Just a little on the pricey side.

Brought the boyfriend for a Sunday night pizza date recently, as he had never been. Pi’s food is always solid in my book and it puzzled me that he had never been to any of the locations yet — so, we went to the MX location since it’s the closest to Soulard/Benton Park. Being barflies, we sat at the mostly empty bar and received amazing service and conversation with the bartender(the name Dani comes to mind — I think she mentioned working at this location for several years). She was spot on and deserves some kudos for her attentiveness and cheerful demeanor. I whined to her tearfully about the pi bites being changed to include kale and something else(mushrooms?). I didn’t order them because the pi bites I wanted were the good old fontina round-and-then-later-oval shaped bites of yore that were cemented in my mind as perfection and needed absolutely no changing. Small disappointment there, but this revelation led me to order an old favorite, the large BLT salad, which was freakin’ delicious(peppercorn ranch!) — needless to say, it was gone quickly. Boyfriend ordered a beer and I was sipping on the safe choice of Prosecco. We ended up ordering a large thin crust — half Central West End and half Chef’s pick, which consisted of lamb and other toppings reminiscent of a Gyro. I had zero complaints about the CWE(arugula and goat cheese belongs on everything in my book). Boyfriend worked his way though a decent amount of the Chef’s Pick. He did excuse himself from the bar at one point citing stomach pains, and then the next morning expressed to me how terribly his stomach had hurt, among other unpleasant details, after eating the meal the first time and then again after consuming the leftovers. I had had no qualms or digestive issues with my side of the pie, and wondered if some ingredient or perhaps the lamb on his side was maybe just a little off — there would be no way to prove this, but it can be an occasional unforeseen reality from time to time. Or, maybe something on there simply didn’t agree with him. We agreed that it was likely an anomaly(Pi is known for using quality ingredients), but he did tweet something about it on Twitter and got a very quick response from Chris, which was appreciated. People should note — Pi pays attention. Following the pizza, we ordered the Apple pi al a mode. I was slightly disappointed that the salty caramel had been changed from Serendipity to another brand which was definitely still good, but man oh man, it was nowhere near that previous salty caramel I was familiar with. But the portion was huge and shareable and we thoroughly enjoyed it, despite rarely ordering dessert when we go out. There was one more weird thing, totally not Pi’s fault: the fire alarm went off in the building during dinner, which caused an alarm fixture to flash like a seizure-inducing strobe light for what felt like an hour. It was a bit disruptive sitting at the bar where you were eye level with that thing. I heard some people walk by and comment to the effect of «how many times is this going to happen?» and«again?» Yikes! We’re not terribly phased by strange occurrences during a dinner service after we’ve had a few rounds of drinks, but I could definitely see how some people would get annoyed by that alarm light quickly. Overall, our experience here was good, the service was great, and the few hiccups we encountered were not enough to keep us away from trying a second pizza outing there.

This place is awesome! Great food, great service! We started our night by ordering GF pizza from dominos. When they fell through, we scrambled to find a place and wandered into PI. We were blown away at the amazing food. Their GF crust is better than a normal pizza crust; and their toppings are tasty. The best part of the night was our server Abby, who was friendly, quick, and knew exactly what to recommend. We’ll never order dominos again!

This is 5 all day !!! Glad that this is as good as the Delmar location 5⁄5: Large Western Addition: Instead of using flour dough Pi uses a cornmeal crust which is actually great. It’s always prepared just the way I requested it … light on the sauce. The chesses are wonderfully married with the spinach, mushroom, onion and garlic. If you’re a lover of deep dished pizza with a hipster flare, then Pi is the spot!

This place is A-OK solely based on the food. My brother and I got the Western Addition. It was really cheesy, which is a good thing if you like cheese, but I personally don’t like the cheesy. It was too much. The cheesecake and pie is REALLY sweet, which is good if you like sweet foods, but I personally don’t like(HAHA). I guess I like everything in moderation, but this place was in the extreme side of everything. Not a bad choice, but could be better!

Pi Pizzeria is definitely legitimate Chicago-style deep dish(unlike many places that advertise subpar deep dish at exorbitant prices). If you’ve never had deep dish before, this is a great place to try. You won’t be disappointed. Surprisingly, the more veggie-heavy offerings here taste better than the ones with meat. GET: — the Western Addition(the unanimous favorite) — the Delmar(BBQ chicken and deep dish surprisingly work well together) — the Southside Classico,(it does not have very much sausage though, just warning) — customize! PASSON: Kirkwood, Berkeley PROS: — Pizza comes out in 25 minutes(as opposed to 45+ minutes at other places) — You can order online for pick-up — Attentive and friendly service — Full bar — Right outside the Convention Center metro stop CONS: — Long wait time at peak hours(ovens might be limited; they can’t seem to handle bottlenecks very well) — While it’s legit, it’s not(and don’t expect it to be) Lou Malnati’s

As a california resident, I’m freezing here. And if I’m freezing, I want hot food, and a hot bath. Pi Pizzeria only provides the hot food so I’m going to have to figure out the hot bath part on my own. Upon entrance, you’ll see that this place looks more like a sports bar than anything else, meaning drinks to go along with your pizza! Go ham(Not literally but maybe also literally). After an unsatisfying deep dish pizza experience back home, I wanted to try it again here and Pi Pizzeria did not disappoint. The crust was wonderfully thin and crunchy and the toppings were buried underneath the glorious sauce. You’re able to order two halves for the price of one so I tried the Western Addition and the South Side. I enjoyed the food and ambiance and hopefully the next time I try deep dish pizza, it’ll be in Chicago. Until then though… Places like here will do just fine.

Long story short… this was my first time enjoying pi pizza after watching my family enjoy it while in DC a couple years ago. I was sick, they weren’t. Ordered the Greek salad which was an excellent blend of creamy and salty with a perfect balance of olives, artichokes and feta. I could have eaten that all by itself and been perfectly happy but of course I didn’t stop there. We also ordered the garlic bread which was crusty with a melt in your mouth soft middle. It comes with the garlic butter on the side that you slather on yourself. A large thin pizza was a perfect amount for the three of us. We were hungry. Luckily they allow you to go halvsies on toppings so my daughter ordered pepperoni and bacon while I got mushroom and red peppers. The crust was the perfect«thinness». Not a cracker and not too flimsy. We were able to polish all but 2 pieces of it off. Polite and quick service.

We tried Pi for the first time on a Thursday night after arriving late to downtown St. Louis. Pi is located across the street from the Embassy Suites Downtown, and we wanted something quick when we got in. It wasn’t busy, so we were seated right away. It is a big, clean, open room with decent ambiance. The menu is impressive — they offer lots of beers(none domestic, only local/lager/specialty type beers) and their menu is good. Something for everyone. I had the Kale salad(excellent dressing!) and the beer cheese soup. my only complaint for the soup is that it was REALLY salty. I normally enjoy salty things but this was a bit much for even me — I didn’t finish it. Someone at my table had a flatbread and said it was excellent, and someone else got the deep dish and said the same thing. The deep dish pizza is prepared in a similar way to Chicago style deep dish but isn’t quite the same. Our server explained that their crust is more corn bread based and I didn’t think that made sense until we got the pizza — the crust had more crunch to it than a dough-ey Chicago style pizza. Different, but still very good. Our server was very nice and attentive. He explained the menu well and was very pleasant and helpful — his name was Jackson. He did a nice job and made it a fun experience. Food was reasonably priced and didn’t take very long to be prepared, but we were there late and on a Thursday night.

The pizza was alright. I had to get the deep dish cornmeal crust because this is what they’re known for. I got a half and half because they both sounded delicious. One half was the Delmar, which is like your bbq chicken pizza, and the other half was The Grove, which is salami and spicy sauce. The Delmar was my favorite half because it was a little tangy, and had a lot of flavor. The Grove was just alright. I thought the spicy sauce would carry it, but it just tasted like regular tomato sauce. Keep in mind that they’re making these from scratch too, so it’ll be about a 20 some minute wait after you place your order. It’s not bad for a freshly made pizza, especially since the restaurant itself is pretty modern looking, has tvs, and the bar is in the middle. The cornmeal crust is unique, and it comes off cleaner than other places. Chicago deep dish is really buttery/greasy, and flaky. I prefer that type of crust, or even a Pizza Hut deep dish, where the crust is oily and crispy. Besides my preference in pizza crust, it is a little pricey for just pizza. My small deep dish pizza was $ 18 before taxes and tip, which makes it about $ 24 in the end. That’s pretty pricey for a pizza that only feeds one. Food is a-ok, restaurant is very sleek, but the price doesn’t make it worth it to me.

Excellent pizza. This place was almost full when we came in, but we were seated quickly. Staff was friendly, always paid close attention to drinks, and gave great recommendations for pizzas. Also, we got there just in time for Happy Hour: 3.14 for a beer, much better than what we had at our hotel. A friend and I ended up ordering an East Loop(thin crust), while our other two friends ordered a Western Addition(deep dish). Both were excellent; I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty the thin crust was.(I don’t usually like thin crust pizzas). The chicken was cooked just right, and I loved how everything tasted so fresh. Also, the small pizza is more than enough for two — deceivingly filling! Excellent dinner spot. I’ll definitely be coming here next time I’m in St. Louis; this place is great for small groups.

Sorry Pi… but that was the 2nd time I’ve received horrible service during prime time! And the time before was just ok. My visit was prime time Friday night on Washington Ave, you should have been all over me. But when the hostess could barely muster a «2 of you?», followed by some mumble inaudible speak, walk us to a table(without checking to see if we were following), plop the menus down, and walk away without a word… not exactly welcoming. But hey, let’s get past the fact that it was empty and the staff was doing chores and busy work… let’s talk about the 10 minutes we sat at our table completely unnoticed. Not much to say, other than we walked out, got 20 feet away, before we walked back JUST to tell you that we’ve left and won’t be back. Dear Pi, I’ve had your product before, it’s really really good and I’m going to miss it. But you clearly have proven you don’t appreciate my business or patronage. PS…I’m a local on the block and will be sure to let others know of my disappointment. Three Point One Gone!

Great thin crust pizza, good wings, and a decent beer selection. This play has a nice open, modern décor and is appropriate for casual dates, family outings, and anything in-between. As far as pizza goes, I’ve had the East Loop and the Maplewood. Both were amazing… they have perfected their thin crust! It’s so tasty and is the perfect balance of crunchy and chewy. Their Oven Blazed Wings are a good dry rub and the yogurt cucumber sauce that it’s served with is tasty and a nice change of pace from your typical ranch or blue cheese. My only reservation with this place are the PEI mussels. They were AWFUL. Just awful! They must not have been cleaned well because they smelled TERRIBLE! I didn’t even finish the appetizer, and I couldn’t get the smell off of my hands for over 24 hours! YUCK! Seriously stay away from them and you’ll have a good meal!
