Silver Bear Jewelry is a fantastic little shop located in The Hill. They have a few cases of lovely silver jewelry that is in a wide variety of styles. Best of all, it is not too expensive. They also carry a wide array of dishes and kitchen items. The most impressive part of the store was the tv that featured a video of a working artist throwing pottery on a wheel. They have a nice selection of pottery to choose from. There are also books on St. Louis and on Italians. There was a nice spread of food for visitors, and I am guessing that they do this every Saturday, but am not sure. There were two women and a man working, and they were all very friendly. Even though the store was packed, they made sure to greet everyone and to make sure that everyone was well taken care of. Almost all of the jewelry is American Indian in design, and they have a good representation of many different types of American Indian jewelry. There are also some more contemporary pieces, and some really cute pendants with words in Italian in glass with silver around it. They had these gorgeous wall tiles that were done very well, but were too expensive for me. They were about 4“x7″, but were around $ 60 each. Alas, maybe one day.
