The French dip beg is never a disappointment! Servers are always very attentive to your needs.

So, I had to think of a place to have my mother’s surprise birthday party. This place was top of the list because of the party room, which could be used for as many people as I needed. So, when I called them to schedule the party they were helpful and helped me pick out just the meal that I knew that my mother would like. On the day of the party they let me come in little early to decorate and helped me get up the decorations plus the two waitresses that attended the room were friendly, helpful, and kept everything nice and full. The food was delicious, and awesome!

If you are vegan, do not eat here. In fact, if you have taste buds and like to be treated well by your waiter, do not eat here. Recently, my boyfriend and I met my family at Smugala’s for dinner. The waitress was extremely rude when we asked about vegan options and told us she would bring us a pair of tweezers to pick the cheese out of the pasta sauce. She didn’t even entertain the idea that anything else could be vegan and simply told us that everything either had cheese or milk in it. Then, she was completely unavailable when we wanted to order a drink. We settled on a wrap, which consisted of canned vegetables drowned in some kind of oil. It was so awful that we sent it back and settled on a liquid dinner after finally receiving our beers an hour later.

If I could give zero stars I would. First off, the service was horrible. Waitress barely did her job. Second, when I order a buffalo chicken pizza I want it to taste a buffalo chicken pizza… not a thin crust pizza smothered and drowned in cheese that I can’t taste anything. And when I ask for buffalo sauce because I CAN’T taste it, I get an attitude from the waitress and charged for the sauce(that was non existent on my pizza). Third, I brought along someone with a severe milk allergy. He asked for NO cheese on his pizza and they still put cheese on his pizza. No apology or anything for the screw up. And it took so long to get the new pizza everyone at the table was already finished eating. WILLNOTGOEVERAGAIN.

A solid pizza place. Good pizza we didn’t even have to wait all that long before it was brought out.

Was a long time lover of SMUGALA’S! Our kids grew up in the restaurant… but have to say… it has gone way down hill. There is better Pizza down the street at IMO’s or Helens and the service at the bar has really gone down hill… and when I say that I mean the carry out. I have had problems with my bill 3 of the last 5 times… and the server is less than cordial in correcting. They used to have great service. but not the same. All in all a little pricey for a Pizza and Wings joint

YUM! I’ve only been here once for a happy hour with some coworkers. Smugala’s has amazing daily happy hour specials! Take a look at the chalk board wall when you walk in. I’ll definitely be back for the monday wing special! I had a couple beers and a chicken ranch wrap which was delicious. It came with a side, i made the mistake of getting a side caesar which was not good. Next time i’ll opt for the fries which looked tasty. I’ve had their pizza once at a company meeting and it was delicious, everyone at my office is obsessed. Cant wait to go back and try some appetizers and definitely some of those wings.

Seems expensive for what we got 4 large pizza over $ 100. Pizza was just ok. They are trying to copy imos.

We love Smug’s. We usually check out the pizza of the month. Our favorite so far has been the Spicy Luau — I think it should be a permanent menu item. We also love the value of the B1G1 between 2 and 4pm on weekdays. Overall, great pizza and pub food, reasonably priced, and convenient.

I have two kids and they’re at the stage where they can either be angels or terrors when we go out to eat. It is VERY important for me to pick a restaurant where I know it’s family-friendly and we won’t be glared at if the 2 year old decides to flip out. I have driven past Smugala’s for years and finally decided to give it a try. It’s not anything fancy and it’s definately for families — don’t come here expecting a quiet dinner. They have a tiny arcade area and I confess that 40% of the stuff in there didn’t work right but none of the kids seemed to care. It was nice to be able to send my 6 year old in there and let him go crazy for a while and know he wasn’t bothering anyone. The thing that sold the place for me was the service. Our waitress was SONICE. I could not get over it. My 2 year old decided to be fussy and we had to take turns walking him around the restaurant. I was at the other side of the restaurant and she found me and let me know that the food was at the table. She brought crackers out right away so the kids would have something to eat. She was super kind and very patient. I loved it. That was the key for me — I’ll be back!

I have been going here for years when I am back in stl. The pizza is delicious,(90% of the time) but once in a while it has just been bland. Smugalas always seems to have some sort of drink or food special during any stl sports or Mizzou game. Checkout their website and they have all the specials there. I always capitalize on the 50 cent wings and dollar drafts. If you are a wings fan this is the place to go. They are just bliss. Pretty meaty and well tossed in sauce. Hot wings are great but the honey mustard just blows them out of the park… Ask them to mix the two sauces together and your life will change!

The service was peppy and the food was fine, but the noise was really too much to take. Our party of nine had to shout to one another to be heard. The choice of Smugala’s was our friend’s — I’m not super partial to St Louis-style cuisine. I’m not saying that it’s terrible, it’s just not my thing e.g. the toasted ravs, the provel, the super-sweet sauces. However, my hot wings were zingy in a nice way and husband enjoyed his burger. So, I don’t want to dissuade anyone from giving this place a try, but as for me, I’d only return at the request of someone else.

My office ordered take-out from Smugala’s. I tried the Gyro… I’m a sucker for these. It was good, tasty, fresh, and filling. And not overdone with a ton of sauce. It came with a side of veggies and ranch for dipping.

Great buffalo sauce! Try the wings or the buffalo chicken sandwich. The pizza is also wonderful, and this is a great place to go for Blues games! The only negative(which is why 4 stars instead of 5) is that sometimes the waitstaff can take forever to get your food.

I’m not quite sure if Smugala’s is a place I would like to sit back, relax with a beer and watch the game… or child birthday party hell. There was a little of both going on when I went in for lunch on a Saturday. I was surprised at the extensive menu. I thought it was just a pizza place, but the menu included sandwiches and burgers as well. It was a tad on the pricey side, but the lunch specials are a good deal since they include a soda. You had your choice of a 9″ one-topping pizza, wings, or toasted ravs with a salad for around $ 9. They weren’t stingy with the portions. The side salad came out in a fairly large mixing bowl, so you can mix in your dressing without lettuce flying all over the table. I liked that! The pizza was good, although slightly over cooked… and the wings were fantastic. Also, the service was top notch. This place could use some updating. It definitely shows the wear and tear, but it wasn’t bad for lunch. And — parents out there — they have a game room to entertain the kiddos so you(and the rest of us) can eat in peace. Overall, it’s worth a try.

I’m definitely a fan of Smugala’s. Pizza is St. Louis-style, though the crust is a tiny bit thicker than one you’d find at Imo’s and I think the cheese is a provel-mozzarella mix. Toppings are plentiful. It’s good. Try the buffalo chicken pizza. Chicken, bacon, red onion, and buffalo sauce. It might seem weird, but it’s great. Beer selection is decent. Not massive, but it has some of the better common beers, like Sam Adams. They also have a pretty strong liquor list with plenty of mixed drinks and shots. Specials are nice. I often carry-out, but service has been good when I’m there, both waiter and bartender. They have a number of TVs and a few arcade games. If you are a soccer fan, Smugala’s is your place. During the season they have a package where you can get tickets to AC St. Louis soccer, two drinks, and a ride to and from the stadium. I think they also offered specials during USA World Cup games(admittedly it’ll be a while before those are back). Smugala’s is a great place for STL pizza, drinks, and general good time-ness. I’ve been going to Imo’s a lot less often since I started getting food from here.

The staff is very friendly and I like the flat bread w/bruschetta. To really enjoy this one, you need to catch them on a pizza special night, as it can be a little on the higher priced side than one might expect.
