This is the spot to sit out and chill… get a glass of wine or a bottle and just chill.

We came here after dinner at the Tavern. We just wanted another glass or so. I like having a variety of wines like this in a store available for purchase and then uncorking! We got a bottle of zinfandel from a California winery I’ve visited(Sextant) and sat around a table and drank. You are allowed to take the rest home. I enjoyed the surroundings — open and clean with bottles of wine for sale and consumption and art as the décor. It was minimal but nice. I think the person working told me they deliver as well?! Win! There was also a Unilocal deal as well!

What a really cute spot!!! My husband and I decided to spend a night out in CWE. Before we went salsa dancing and to improv, we stopped here to have a glass of wine. I was able to use a Unilocal deal($ 14 for $ 20). The only downside is that you can’t use the Unilocal deal to buy a bottle of wine, but I understand why. My husband ordered a glass of scotch and a beer, while I ordered a glass of red wine. All of the beverages were great! At the end, we bought a really good bottle of red wine for $ 14. They seem to have quite the selection, ranging from pretty cheap bottles(like the one I bought) to more expensive bottles($ 30+). I’ve come to decide that there is something here for everyone! The servers are also really friendly, attentive, and helpful, which makes this place even better. The ambiance itself is really clean and sleek. There is a bar along with a few tables throughout. The place is decorated with various artworks(which are nice, but pretty expensive for my taste). I’d say one thing that they could do to improve the space would be to add some comfier chairs. Most of the chairs(while looking great in the space) were not that comfortable. Finally, in addition to the $ 14 for $ 20 deal, you also can get a free glass of wine when you check-in(one per group). I plan to use my deal when I visit in the future. In sum, a great place to stop by in the CWE for date night. I’d highly recommend buying and splitting a bottle here before you hit the town early in the night.

Great wine selection and very personable, knowledgable staff(love the art they feature, too). We have been coming here since they opened and it remains one of our favorite places in the neighborhood.

Great atmosphere and excellent selection of wines with a nice backdrop of art in the background. Very place to chill out and drink some wine. I hear they are soon adding a more loungey feel which I think will be even more excellent.

It’s wine. It’s art. What’s not to love? Answer: Nothing. I rotate between a few local shops for my wine, and Vino Gallery is one of my favorites. It’s so fun to browse their(pretty big) selection of wine and then take a look at all the art on the walls. They have a seriously great selection, and most of it’s under $ 30 or so. Your wallet will thank you! Aside from those things, they usually have a cool discount table if you want to be even kinder to your wallet. The staff is really helpful and will help you pick out exactly what you’re looking for. They also have little gifts here and there too, which is helpful if you’re picking up a host or hostess gift. Pro-tip: They have group classes on Tuesdays that are super cool and educational. They also have wine tastings after 5pm and all day on Saturdays. You officially need no more reasons to get to the Central West End to check this place out.

Attended an art show here, the employees were lovely. Tasted a couple different wines that I wouldn’t usually try, very knowledgeable about the wines they were serving. I found a large selection on very reasonably priced wines that they had available. The wine was good, the art show was magnificent.

Love this place. Alex and Rachel were very helpful and very friendly in everything from helping with the wine selection to helping us serve up some desert. I would highly recommend this place to everyone and anyone. Stop in and see them.

I really love this wine store. The staff is excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. We had a group of 8 for a birthday party and we opened some excellent wine and reasonable prices. We even trucked in our own desserts from MO Baking Co and they were gracious to help us serve the group. We joined their wine club — 2 wines/mo for $ 35 — and we’re looking forward to receiving our first selection.

My husband and I are frequent customers at the Vino Gallery. The owners are great, and really get to know the types of wines that you like and your price range just by observing your purchases. Not knowing all that much about wines, we frequently just rely on Rachel’s judgement in picking out what to buy, and she hasn’t made a bad suggestion yet. We haven’t done the wine class yet, but we’ve learned a lot just from talking with her and going to the free tastings on weekends. Their by-the-glass prices are very reasonable, and it’s a nice place to relax with friends after a long day or week. I also like that a lot of the wines they carry are small-production wineries. You won’t find these at Schnuck’s. The Wine Club is also a great deal. For a reasonable monthly fee(as determined by graduate students — we’re not made of money) you get two bottles of wine a month and 10% off purchases. And they hand-select your wines with your tastes in mind, and often include recipes to go with them. They’re a great business!

My bf and I got a groupon for the Intro to Wine class as a gift. The class was really great. The owner made the class serious, but fun enough for me to actually learn quite a bit about wine. What I remember from the class now is an entirely different story. The samples were plentiful, and the art was beautiful. I really appreciated learning about wine, and all the helpful little hints she gave about deciphering where a certain wine is from were pretty cool. I’m not a fancy-schmancy wine know-it-all, but the selection in the store was great too me. There were spirits, wine and select beers, and we also got a wine discount from taking the class. The service was great, and there was leftover wine at the end of the class. In addition to the art being beautiful, the hardwood floors and open layout of the store were a great backdrop also.

Nifty little wine shop nestled in the CWE on McPherson. They sell a wide variety of wine from all over the world and they have locally made artwork on the walls for viewing and/or purchase. I didn’t find the staff to be pretentious at all, by the way. The gal who does the wine tasting class(Rachel) is also the owner and she’s a little bit excited about wine. Okay, maybe that’s an understatement. She’s REALLY excited about wine. I could see how some people might mistake her enthusiasm for being pretentious because she was talking about being a sommelier and all of what that entails. Yes, French words do make for some pretentious-sounding convo, but I think that can’t be helped, heh. I also appreciate her sense of humor when my boyfriend showed up at the end to collect me(lol) and when I asked him to smell some wine he exclaimed«wow! That smells nasty!» and she replied, «Well that doesn’t offend me… I didn’t make it!» lol! As far as the class, it started at about 7pm on a Thursday night and it went until about 8:25pm. They had a few rows of chairs, two on each side, and a projector in the front. We tried three different glasses of wine… Riesling to start with, then a chardonnay, and finally a sirrah(I think?)…so two whites and one red. I learned quite a bit about wine during the lecture and I was glad we only tried three wines because my stomach was fairly empty(went to dinner afterwards) so I probably would have been tipsy or sick if we’d had anymore. I think the lecture covered most all of the points I’d hoped it would, so I was pretty satisfied there. At the end, everyone got up, tried the red wine, roamed the store, and asked questions. The artwork is really nice but probably over my budget. I like that there is a pretty wide selection of wine available for purchase so you’re not just stuck with really cheap stuff or really expensive stuff. I found it amusing that she mentioned some people recycle their corks there randomly so she’ll go outside and see a random bag of them on the stoop from someone who was walking their dog in the morning, lol. I am definitely going to start recycling my wine corks now after learning about the cork shortage. Oh yeah and another great thing about them? I bought my Groupon for this like way over a year ago but the person who I bought a gift one for(who was going to join me in the class) was really busy with school and couldn’t go. So every time I made a reservation to go to this class with her, I had to cancel right after. Not really her fault because she was busy with school, but I was worried I’d never be able to do this class because it was way past the expiration date on the Groupon. So I am really glad they still honored my purchase after so long, lol. Also noteworthy, everyone who attends the class gets a 5% discount on any wine they buy that night. Seems kind of low but I guess they don’t get much foot traffic since they’re kind of off on their own and not surrounded by business next door… they’re a bit farther down on McPherson and not, say, next to Pi or anything. I think they had a discount for artwork too but I think it was only like 10% or something. I’d probably go back some Saturday because they have wine tastings for free. I’d like to go back to learn more about wine and especially food pairings. She mentioned they had a chocolate-wine food pairing event for some private party that weekend… sounds pretty good to me. Wine. Chocolate. Can’t go wrong, right? LOL.

We all see things differently — I find the VG staff to be friendly & outgoing. They listen to your likes and dislikes in wine and guide you to new & exciting experiences. As for the class on Thursday night, I found it to be informative. I found the talking patron to be rude. There are no excuses for bad behavior. The«you’ll impress…» comment, I found it to be a humorous opening. If she lost you after that comment, perhaps you’re ADD. I have shopped multiple wine shops in the St Louis area and find this staff to be the most friendly and knowledgeable. *This was my first Unilocal Review
