I am surprised how nice this place looks inside as you wouldn’t suspect from where it’s located. Dark wood and beautiful bar full of whiskeys made for a lovely warm pub atmosphere — without all the distracting TVs(there was one in the side room we were in). My dinner companion enjoyed a whiskey, but thought the 8 draft beer choices available were good ones. He ordered the Welsh rarebit special which looked fabulous, was huge, and disappeared off his plate fast. Chicken and extras made it way better than traditional rarebit, and we were told it will be a regular on the new menu coming up in mid June. I had the seasoned fish tacos which were cooked nicely and presented well, but could have used more seasoning! The French fries were impressively perfect though, with a light non-greasy crust, and the rarebit’s side salad had fresh strawberries and quality goat cheese. White chocolate complimented, not overpowered, the warm bread pudding, and the other desserts sounded wonderful(bourbon ice cream!). Service was good. I asked about having a party there and Manager Dan and Chef Zack were a pleasure to speak with and willing to please. I think we’ll be back.

My husband and I love the cask ! So friendly and always good food and drink. We were sad when Eleven mile house went out but very relieved that we had another favorite spot to frequent. The cask aged Manhattan a must. The shrimp and grits were excellent ! We’ll be back !

The place is very nice on the inside… you forget you are in an older strip mall. I started with the dry rub wings. The wings were big, and the rub was good. For entrees, the wife got a burger, and I chose the vegetable flatbread. The burger was good. The flatbread was less than stellar. We sat at the bar and the bartender was pretty busy as she also was waiting on a bunch of tables. She waas nice, and keep checking on us, but I think they were a little short staffed this past Saturday.

I will be back! Everything about this place was awesome… food, drinks and atmosphere! Had the opportunity to chat with the owner and he certainly knows his stuff. I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews about speed of food service but I thought the service was great. Especially since most everything is made to order. I’d highly recommend checking this place out, especially if you enjoy a good bourbon and/or scotch!

Great restaurant with a fabulous whiskey/bourbon menu. I come in on a regular basis always get good service and almost everything is made fresh. The Owner Dan is a great guy and will do what it take to make your visit fabulous.

What a cool place. Friendly staff and really good food. Happened to be there on a night where they had a band and for me, it was nice to be at a place where the band played good tunes but at a volume you could still chat with people. Just a cool all around atmosphere. I’d definitely check it out if you are in the Kirkwood area.

I was definitely not impressed with this place. The food was subpar. The place has a better atmosphere than its old tenet, but that is all I can really say about it. When we were in there, the dining room crowd was mostly older ladies. Nothing really stood out as impressive.

A wonderful find! If you drink bourbon, you will love the selection – everything you’ve always wanted to try. Food is good, too Been there twice. First time, it took a while for the waiter to appear; but he was wonderful – worth the wait. Made honest and good suggestions. Helped make our evening delightful. Went back with three different friends – we all loved it. I had great salmon and one friend said that the fish tacos were the best she ever had. I highly recommend.

Revising my original review listed below — changing my 5 stars to 2 … because of the last 3 visits were not great experiences. Visited for Sunday brunch — our waitress overcharged us for the Mimosa drinks — as she was taking our order … She stuck her finger in her ear and was digging in it — I almost threw up. The next two visits for carry out orders were awful — the hamburger burnt on the outside and raw on the inside(see photo) — I called to tell them … They requested we return the burger and they would make us a new one — the new one so burnt I could not eat. Sad to say … I will never waste my time or money on this place again ever! We placed an order to go … We arrived early and sat at the bar for a drink. Everyone was super friendly — the bartenders were fabulous(the ice cold beer … Yum)! The burger and fries were so amazing — literally the best hamburger ever! Really enjoyed our visit and will definitely return on a regular basis. Very clean — the renovations were so nice — way better than the 11 Mile House! Overall, very pleased with the service!

Popped in to pick up a gift card for the holiday. Had to stop and enjoy a cocktail myself after seeing their selection. If you like whiskey, whisky, scotch, bourbon or the like you should stop in! We had a couple of appetizers as it was happy hour and they were tasty. I had the wings with whiskey glaze. I could barely taste the glaze which disappointed me but I would be willing to go back and try the dry rub wings instead. Haven’t tried dinner.

Wanted to give it a better review but I can’t. Had their old fashion and Manhattan and they were good. I expect the drinks to take a little longer in a craft cocktail place but it was crazy slow. Even though it wasn’t good this time I will give it another try

Great space, great name, great cocktail menu. Slow service, small menu and just blah. I was excited to try it but it just didn’t meet my expectations. Their cocktail menu is good, crafty and creative, and I understand certain drink require some Time but the bartender was overly slow and inattentive. We had waited for our tab for over 20 minutes with empty drinks and then ended up grabbing the menu and leaving exact change plus a tip since he didn’t even check on us. Not sure I’ll be back any time soon.

Stumbled onto a great whiskey spot and the food’s not to shabby either! Dan(owner) and bartender for the night, is personable and the waitstaff was very accommodating and knowledgable. I highly recommend it if you’re in the area!

What a great find! We went for a late happy hour on a Friday and enjoyed it very much! Garrick, our bartender and waiter, was awesome!!! He recommend a new wine that I wouldn’t ever had tried — it was one of the best wines ever. The appetizers we ordered were good but the wine was the best part of the evening!

If you’re going to try this place… 1. Proceed with caution 2. Go during Happy Hour, if you absolutely must go– Monday-Friday 3pm-7pm 3. Drinks are horrendous… bartender has no clue 4. Be prepared to wait and I mean wait for drinks and food, even when the restaurant isn’t busy. 5. If this is a Whiskey House, the menu just doesn’t work. 6. Be patient– it’s either your waiter is missing, your food is missing, your drinks are missing or there is no water(and I mean no glasses containing water ever delivered to the table) 7. No concept of when food should be delivered to the table(salad should not come out with food unless specified) 8. Over priced food and drinks for the quality 9. Poorly executed concept and they have the nerve to get into the brunch game. 10. Soo many kinks to still workout since opening 6⁄2015.

I was watching a local show here in St. Louis that featured the restaurant. I was in the ara later that day and stopped in the try it. I arrived during happy hour and was promptly greeted and seated. I really loved the USB ports and Electrical Outlets along the walls of the dining area! Win Win! I ordered the Dry Rub Wings from the Happy Hour Menu and my server suggested the Blackened Chicken Sandwich from the regular menu. I chose Three Cheese Mac & Cheese as my side. I had Pecan Pie with Bourbon Ice Cream for dessert. Everything was good, but I think the Dry Rub Wings should come with a creamy dip of some sort. The only other thing is be mindful of parking. They are in a super busy strip mall. I plan to go again to try some other items from the menu. #stlmetrofoodie

Go for Happy Hour — don’t stay for dinner! We tried this place tonight and the drink selection and waitstaff was excellent. We ordered some local beers on tap(civil life and UBC). Since it was happy hour, we ordered some $ 5 apps — pretzels and spinach artichoke dip. The pretzels were pretty good and had homemade mustard, the spin art dip was mediocre. I got a spinach salad with salmon — which I got to decide how it was cooked, the waitress suggested medium. The salmon was on the rare side and I didn’t really want to eat it. My husband got the special, shrimp PO’ boy which was totally lost in the huge French loaf it was on. The house remaloude sauce was white which I always assumed it was orange-ish. We also had the kids sliders which cooked down to a quarter the size of the bun they put it on. Overall, the apps were okay and the drink selection is good. They even have chargers to plug your phone into on the wall. Go for happy hour! The menu is exciting but executed poorly. 2 stars is based on dinner experience and waitress did a great job.

We were disappointed. This place has been open a little while and we were eager to try it. We were originally seated in the main dining room, but we asked to be moved as it was 10 degrees hotter than the bar area. I saw another party do the same while we were waiting. Waiting… it seemed like it took forever to get our food for what we ordered. I had their blackened chicken sandwich and a side salad. The chicken was ok. Not very flavorful for bringing blackened. It was more of just grilled chicken. The side salad was the highlight for me. Lots of dark greens, some bleu cheese crumbles a light vinaigrette dressing. My wife and son both had their special, a Monte Cristo and fries. My son will eat about anything and left half of his sandwich. The bread was soggy, the ham was nothing special, and the cheese was tasteless. My wife and son where expecting the deep fried version with the powdered sugar and jelly. This was far from it. I gave them two stars as our waiter was nice and attentive.

Darn Darn Darnie Darn! Man I wanted to like this place. So close to my house, sounds really cool, looks really cool, great beer/whiskey selection, etc… right up my ally. So my 3 yr old son and I came in and we ordered drinks and wings to start. He got milk. He then told me it tasted like old cheese. So I tasted it and it turns out he was served soured whipping cream(at least I hope that’s what it was). Whatever, no big deal, ordered water and moved on. Got the wings and I have to say they were some of the worst wings I have ever had. The chicken itself had that mushy barely cooked texture and had no taste, the«sauce» was some kind of watered down BBQ/Asian sauce or something that also had no taste, and then they were«charred» which unfortunately was the only taste. My son took one bite and spit it out(this kid dominates chicken wings) and I could not eat more than a couple of bites of each wing. But… OK whatever, I moved on and looked forward to the burger we ordered to split. I ordered medium. I got charred outside, raw inside. I’m cool with some medium rare here and there but when there is no difference between raw cold mushy ground beef and whats inside of my burger… that’s a problem. So I dug it all out to try and salvage some of our meal and had a pile of raw meet sitting on my plate. My son and I just nibbled the outside of the burger and he just ate the bread. I would estimate that we ate about 20% of it. The fries were fine. The 2nd star here is just because our waiter was a nice guy and everyone working there seemed to be attentive and nice. I was with my 3 yr old so I didnt get to enjoy all of the whiskeys and great craft beers but Im sure I will come back to have some drinks. But man o man I can not envision ever coming back to eat. So bummed, hopefully I caught them on a really off night. I would love for this place to get better and thrive.
