A most excellent meal served with care in a calm relaxed atmosphere. The grouper was perfectly cooked and served over perfectly cooked tiny green beans. The ahi tuna appetizer was melt in my mouth delicious. Every one at the table enjoyed everything. The price was reasonable for the quality and amount of food. I will return if I am in St Michaels again.

Came here for my boyfriend’s 25th birthday dinner. Bottle of wine, wine pairings, raviolis, salads, steaks, lamb chops, and desserts, as I can recall. All delicious and we got to sit next to the fireplace for a romantic night. We never felt rushed all night, it was perfect. Thank you for a great experience!

This is by far the best restaurant in St. Michael’s. The food is all done with thought, sophistication, and attention to detail. There are many so so restaurants loved by locals in the area, but if you are used to fine city level cuisine this is your place in the area.

Well apparently curt the owner did respond that they are /were busy at certain times, which is understandable, however it was early and we could have ate and left before anyone got there. St Michaels is a ho DUNK town, while it is quaint and some say charming, I do believe while dining in town and having the local waterman blow there air horns and shoot diesel smoke on you. May, may contribute to that statement„ I have heard the food is good and looked forward to patronizing the joint. Maybe we can call in a reservation for spring. Ok actually ate there and had chicken livers for an appetizer and they were to die for. The lamb chops were equally great as well. They even had mint jelly and horseradish so I guess the crow I am eating now is not nearly as good as the food I was served. Service was good as well as the wine. So score 1 for ho DUNK town. Good job curt, :)

Had a really great dinner here! Had an oyster appetizer that was amazing. My husband had the roasted beet salad and I had the potato leek soup. We both had the grouper and ended with crème brûlée. Really enjoyed all the food. Portions were big — you don’t leave hungry! Service was attentive also.

Service was very attentive and the food was creative but not amazing. We went here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and everything was fine(but again not mind-blowing). We came here after a pretty late(and heavy lunch) so ordered lightly. I had the lobster pierogi app and the husband had the crab lettuce wraps and watermelon salad. Everything was seasoned well and presented nicely. They did give us glasses of champage(cider for me since I’m pregnant) to celebrate which was a kind thing to do. The server raved about the home-made ice cream so we had to try it. It was rather meh; I’ve made better ice cream at home. A fine choice in St Michael’s but wouldnt go out of my way to eat here.

Excellent dinner the choices our server made were amazing — the scallops special with goat cheese and gorgonzola rizotta was mouthwatering. Great charming find!

For entrees we had the local rockfish and crab cake. Both were outstanding. The crab cake includes fried green tomatoes which are delicious. I loved the sauce that came with the rockfish. For appetizers we had the shrimp spring roll and lobster pierogi, which were very good.

The restaurant was booked solid the night before we were going and so we ended up with 5:30 reservation, but I’m glad we did. The french onion soup was so delicious that my wife threatened not to share any with me, but she relented and I can confirm that it was as good as she claimed. After too much fried fish we were looking for something else. Her prime rib and my seafood pasta dishes were the change of pace that we were looking for. Although we had planned to stop on the way home for ice cream, their dessert menu made us change our minds and stay.

Appetizers were amazing, entrees were okay, specialty cocktails were terrible. We went here for my birthday dinner over Memorial Day Weekend, and I called to make a reservation that day around noon, and they only had 5pm available for that night, so I highly suggest calling as soon as you can(also, it was the first weekend of the summer, so that could be why they were so busy). We all agreed that the best dish we had that night was the Beef Short Rib Pierogi appetizer. The meat was so tender, and it was served on a bed of whipped potatoes with a wicked horseradish cream that kept the dish from being so heavy. The second best dish was the special that night, the soft shell crab that even I liked(I usually like my crab when it is in cake form), it had this great seasoning and was perfectly cooked. The only reason this place doesn’t get the 5 stars it deserves is because of the cocktails. I am not normally picky about cocktails, if it has booze, I’ll like it. But the restaurants creations were just awful, we had 3 different ones hoping that it just one that was off, but the rest were great. Unfortunately not the case. I had this drink that included a pineapple shrub that was honestly pure vinegar. I did finish it because like I mentioned before, I love booze. So after that one, I decided to go fruity and get their Blueberry Lemonade, and it literally tasted like a melted slurpee, it even looked like one with its bright blue color. I couldn’t even finish mine, let alone drink more than 3 sips. Even someone at another table ordered it, took one sip and then didn’t touch it again. But if you order normal classic cocktails, they taste fine, just stay away from their concoctions.

So many delicious choices! Really hard to narrow down what to get but every dish I’ve had was nothing short of amazing. It’s pricey, but definitely worth it.

Always great food and service. Our recent visit was fantastic. The ahi tuna was perfect and the Pâté appetizer was a real treat. All of their desserts are made in-house and delicious. This is a local favorite and you will need reservations On weekends. Welcome to St Michaels! If you are looking for an upscale dining experience this is the place at a fair price. Enjoy!

Best find ever! We didn’t realize it was restaurant week and we needed a reservation for any and every restaurant in town. The hostess, Valerie, broke the news that they were completely booked quite tactfully. After hearing us search for a spot via Unilocal, she was gracious enough to accommodate our four-top in the tavern. On top of that, the food and service were AMAZING!!! I highly recommend!

We had the short rib pierogi and oysters to start and the seafood risotto and ribeye for dinner. The appetizers were both good. They’re a generous potion and the oysters were fresh and perfectly cooked. Dinner, unfortunately, was a tour through inedibly undercooked and outrageously overcooked items. The risotto does not use the correct rice, so it’s not actually a risotto. It’s white rice with sauce poured over it. The rice was also undercooked. All of the seafood was overcooked and tough. The«gulf shrimp» were diced into the risotto, not served as juicy delicious shrimp, which is just bizarre. The ribeye was even worse. We ordered the ribeye mid rare, and to call what we received mid well would be generous. The«charred» brussel sprouts accompanying the steak were completely raw. The dish was totally inedible. The service was also subpar. We had to ask multiple times for refills and the drinks were slow to come out.

Valentines Day dinner at 208 Talbot… Warm lighting, exposed brick walls, dark wood, snow falling outside. Passionate staff, anticipating every need. Perfect martinis, crisp spring rolls, plump shrimp, colorful salads with flavor and freshness, melt in your mouth short ribs, tender, flaky fish, warm bread, a heart shaped lemon meringue cake with sweet strawberries. Sharing a wonderful evening with my love. Thank you, 208 Talbot for making this a perfect evening!

Outstanding service, food & atmosphere. We tried several restaurants in the area; this one is the best across the board. If there’s just one dinner you will go out for while in St. Mikes — make it here!

We ordered so much food… And it was SO good. Instead of doing entrees, we decided to get a punch of appetizers. The portions are spot on. Baked Oysters ~ Topped with crispy Pancetta, toasted pistachios in a Champagne cream. These were ok — The cream sauce was a little funky. Crispy Fried Calamari ~ Lightly dusted with seasoned flour & flash fried, paired with a Chipotle aioli & Vietnamese Sweet Chili dipping sauce. Very Light and not oily at all! Mushroom Ravioli ~ filled with a blend of roasted mushrooms, Mascarpone & Parmesan cheeses in a spiced sage cream with Balsamic reduction, garnished with toasted pine nuts & crispy frizzled shallots. DELICIOUS!!! SOYUMMY! The balsamic reduction was a little on the sweet side, but over all a must try. Shrimp Spring Rolls ~ filled with diced gulf shrimp, scallions, julienne carrot, cabbage & shitake mushrooms over sesame seaweed salad with a sweet chili dipping sauce. These were good, crispy but not oily. Asian Beef Lettuce Wrap ~ Tender marinated Filet, thinly sliced with an Asian vegetable slaw, toasted sesame seeds & scallions wrapped in fresh Bibb lettuce finished with hoisin, wasabi cream & crispy wonton strips. SOMANYFLAVORS! A must try. Soup du Jour ~ Which was a 3 cheese French Onion. Probably one of the best things we ate that night. Very flavorful. For dessert, I ordered the apple bread pudding. It was little disappointing because I felt it should have been served warm and not right out of the refrigerator.

I’d heard great things about the chef and the menu looked promising, so I was excited to try this place. We started with the chicken liver appetizer and some drinks. The liver was good, but the portion was bizarrely huge. More than enough to be shared among 4 – 5 people. My husband got the burger, which he said was malformed and utterly forgettable. I sampled his fries, which looked pretty but were woefully under salted. I had been dreaming about hot, creamy pasta all week, so I opted for the seafood linguine. The actual pasta noodles were high quality– I just wish they’d done those noodles justice in the dish! The dish needed a hit of acid or something(herbs or crushed red pepper, maybe?) to make it pop. As it was, the pasta was neither rich and creamy, nor light and fresh… just kind of middling. Even worse, the lukewarm/room temperature presentation was off-putting, especially for a dish featuring seafood. I was actually tempted to ask them to stir my pasta around in a saucepan for a couple more minutes… that’s how cold it was. Positives: The service was attentive and the bread came with lovely butter and crunchy salt for sprinkling. My husband and I both agreed that the bread course was delicious, but if that was the best we could say about the restaurant, I guess we won’t be going back.

Hidden gem. Service: 5 stars — we ate for 3 hours, never rushed and we had one of the best dinners as a couple(we did get a bottle of wine with our dinner) Taste: 5 stars — very impressed Portion: 5 stars — we split an $ 8 salad and each plate was a size of a side salad in the city. Ambiance: 5 stars — well decorated, contemporary, cozy Price: 5 stars — $ 27-$ 30 a dish for those portions. You’re getting your money’s worth Bonus: Presentation — very impressed. pictures don’t do justice!

Nice place, nice décor, solid menu. We started with the Baked Oysters and the Sautéed Mussel appetizers. The mussels were excellent and had a nice spice. The oysters were fantastic. My wife had a salmon dish and she loved it. I had the whole barramundi and it was delicious. Expensive, not sure the value matches the price. That’s my only complaint and I knew it was going to be like this so I’m not really sure it’s a complaint at all.
