After I landed at my destination, I received an email from the manager apologizing for the service and food quality. He then refunded my purchase and I am impressed they did that. Still disappointed that I had to wait and did not get breakfast, but their service and desire to improve was impressive.

18% tip built into the price of the food and you have to pick the order on ipad, wipe your card and the ONLYSERVICE for 18% is to bring you the food?

I had time to kill during my wait for my connecting flight so my search began for some vegetarian food. This place caught my attention and I decided to give it a go and sat at the bar. It was very modern with a cool ambiance and tablets at each seat for ordering. I decided on the veggie burger and placed my order using the ipad and swiping my card with the card reader. Gratuity was added to my order so I didn’t need to do anything else, just wait for my food to arrive. The bartender was pretty cool. This seems like a great option to reduce the need for wait staff by using technology. My food looked very appealing on the plate but I wasn’t too pleased with the taste results. The black bean burger patty just tasted like black beans and the sauce was spicy but pretty bland. The fries were ok, some a little overcooked. I had higher expectations and wish I would have gone to TGIF instead for the veggie burger I actually enjoy. I give Mill City Tavern 2 stars for the food but an additional star for the ambiance/décor and bartender.

Ridiculously over-priced for the laughable portion sizes.

Located inside MSP airport. Nice place. Served breakfast items. I had the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. Ordered from an iPad and paid there too. Suggest to dine in for people with at least an hour and half layover. It’s located in a big airport. The nice thing is they have multiple locations within the airport. Nice place and it is like all airport food — pricey. Paid $ 21 for two eggs and some salmon and tap water.

Went here for a work lunch this week. We ordered the calamari and I had the salad with salmon. Everything was great. The calamari was crispy and had a little kick to it. I wish the portion had been a little bigger. My salad was good. There was spinach in the salad which was a nice surprise. The dressing was sweet and tangy. Angelina was our server and provided good service to our table of 5.

A very solid option for food at MSP. The tavern offers high quality regional bar fare and craft beers. The service is provided through a iPAD at each table, which is also connected to wifi for the diner’s use. You can even pay your bill through the iPAd. The concept cuts out my least favorite part of eating at the airport, trying to coax the waiter to close out your bill fast enough to catch your flight. I ordered a cheeseburger and a Surly Bender. Tasty and quickly served for my convenience. Mill City is my new go-to at MSP!

Great service, but the food was just okay. Had a layover at MSP and left from Terminal 17(?), where Mill City Tavern was located. There was an expansive menu and yet nothing looked particularly appetizing. So I went with simple teriyaki wings. After placing my order on the iPad at my table, a waiter with a VERY unique, deep voice, PERFECT for radio came over and confirmed my order would be out soon. The wings arrived in about 15 minutes. They needed more sauce. even more interesting was the fact they were all drumsticks. Boooooooooo!!! I don’t care for drums a d wish that I had been warned. The waiter explained their vendor’s flats are notoriously small(probably because they aren’t hopped up on steroids), so they only order drums. File this under First World Problems. Nevertheless I ate and was fine. Service was great. I would recommend if you’re in Concourse G.

Pros: Lots of seating with charging ports and order-yourself ipads(that you can also use to connect to the internet). Craft beer on tap from MPLS and the surrounding area. Cons: Waaaaaay too long to get food out. I ordered a burger and it took 25 minutes to come. When I sat down, I had an hour until departure. When my food came, my flight was boarding and I had to rush through my dinner. My salad was very small, what was worse was that I had to pay $ 1 extra for it. The verdict: Come here for the beer but NOT the food!

Greeted by an iPad. Served advertisements on the iPad. Have to touch the fecal covered iPad, to oder, before eating my meal after someone else probably didn’t wash their hands in the bathroom. Eating here only because every restaurant in the airport is replacing people with ipads in the same way. Shame on you mill city.

I really wanted to like this place, but i literally had to cancel my oder and leave, because forty five minutes wasn’t enough time to get the meal I actually ordered onto my table. The fact that you can only order on ipads, combined with the overwhelmed wait staff and the continued mistakes I saw — not just in my order but in the orders of virtually everyone around me — left me confused about the 4 star rating this place seems to have. I ordered a panini, and literally was given a sandwich on white bread with honestly not a single ingredient listed on the menu. Like not one. It was honestly pretty remarkable how consistently they got it wrong, and I ended up just not getting to eat dinner. Good times.

Not bad Mill City Tavern, not bad at all. Every now and then it is exciting to venture out of the SkyClub and seek out some more substantial foods. I was out wandering the airport looking at menus and finally settled on Mill City. This is one of the iPad ordering restaurants located next to Delta gates in the G concourse. I grabbed a table and placed my order for coffee and Norwegian Eggs. The Norwegian Eggs were toast, with salmon, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce. The dish will run you $ 15, which is not over the top considering there is seafood and it’s an airport. The dish itself was prepared and presented beautifully. I really enjoyed the medium poached eggs running over the fresh salmon. The dish also came with spinach and potatoes. The potatoes were decent but maybe a little heavy handed with the salt. Overall good food, quick service, in a clean environment. I would recommend and I might even be back myself!

This is located in concourse G which was a bit of a hike from the main mall area. Ordering on the iPad is quick and he food come out just as fast. Servers were very nice and attentive. I orders the pork belly BLT which was very fatty but still very good. If I’m ever in this airport again, I’ll be sure to come here again. 4 stars for food 3 stars for automatically adding tip to my bill.

A lot of pluses here — a tasty sandwich, fast service, and a really friendly server that genuinely seemed to care that I was having a good experience. I got the turkey club sandwich and the turkey had a tasty roasted flavor, the bacon was crisp and meaty, and the cheese appeared to be real. There were two minor bummers: they forgot the tomato(which I love) and included a hefty chunk of turkey skin in my sandwich(that was easy to pick off, at least). The server asked if I needed anything and I had no doubt she’d have brought me out a tomato slice for the second half of my sandwich if I’d have requested it. She was also kind enough to offer me a glass of water — something I didn’t see on the menu(probably since they’re trying to sell $ 7 bottles of fancy water). It is a little pricey, but compared to other sit-down restaurants I stopped by it’s actually not too bad(my sandwich and fries was $ 13.50). Other perks of Mill City include lots of seating with runway views, plugs for charging at most tables, complimentary iPad use with Internet access, and individual card sliders if you want to order separately from your traveling buddies.

For airport breakfast in the Delta concourse look no further… Mill City was great, I had biscuits and gravy that would rival any restaurant in the metro. Everything was prepared perfectly and it wasn’t boring bland gravy like Minnesotans can tend to do sometimes. The convenience of ordering from your table side iPad, paying without having to wait for the server to bring your check and consistently getting refills is extra bonus in my book. Great way to start your trip!

Of all the choices in concourse G, Mill City Tavern looked very promising. I sat down at one of their iPads and started to look through the menu items. I didn’t realize how inefficient it was compared to paper menus. In any case, the waitress came by and told me what the soup of the day was(tortilla soup) and it sounded yummy so I ordered one. I also ordered a cheeseburger since I wasn’t sure how large the soup would be. It turned out that the soup was really tasty and quite filling. That plus another appetizer would have been sufficient. The soup was quite spicy. The cheeseburger was juicy and is standard as far as cheeseburgers go. One of the things that I didn’t like about iPad ordering was that the default tip is 18% unless you change it before paying. It allows you to receive the receipt by email, even though the waitress brought me a copy anyway. Overall, I thought Mill City Tavern was excellent as far as airport food goes.

Fast delivery of food once ordered on the IPAD tablet attached to every seat at this location; tables and at the bar. The(electronic IPAD) menu promises delivery in fifteen minutes or less and they make good on that promise. A choice of Caesar salad instead of fries is pretty much a rip off. About four fork full’s of underdressed, wilted greens that had no taste of Caesar dressing, whatsoever. No croutons. No parm. No taste. Ugh. Very disappointing, as I really wanted a bit of salad to accompany my burger. The quality of the meat in the hamburger was good, however the promised slices of yellow and green bell peppers on their basic burger was nonexistent. In its place, I found paper thin slices of what appeared to be marinated jalapeño peppers, which had a bad taste to them.

I thought this is simply the coolest looking airport restaurant I have been too! The place looked ultra modern and hip. You order off of ipads that are located at each of the tables and the food comes out right to you. The food isn’t bad either! I would eat here more often if it wasn’t so far away from where I lived, or in an airport. You are surrounded by tv’s filled with the latest and greatest in sports and news. They also have areas where you can charge your electronics while at your seat. If you guys have a chance to swing by here check it out!

This place, beginning with the Title alone, is the kind of spot where my mental review began composing itself, well prior to the dishes that arrived. This is not a tavern. Again, this is not a tavern, people. I implore thee, what antiquated hipster thought it wise to christen this yuppie airport diner a tavern? You place your order with an iPad. Dear God. The grand folly of this supposed tavern, as previously referenced, is the irony of the technology that supposedly delivers convenience. Not. As a wonton hungry world traveller, I’m guessing you’re reading this review because you’re f-cking starved and you want something that measures up to solid eats from whatever city you’re from. You’ll find them here. The plates are pretty tasty, and the service is generally good, but the system they’re employing is ridiculous. Loved the walleye sandwich. The burger was good. Airport pricing, what can you do. But the iPad? Bad, bad call. We ended up straightening up our order and bill with a real live person, about four times, because the iPad was totally wonky. Until the technology improves, here’s why the setup sucks: don’t like onions? No tomato on that burger? Worse, want a vegan-friendly meal? Guess what: the iPad won’t notate this. Real human servers, utilizing the ancient art of listening, are the right people for the job. It’s weird, but the system, here(ordering from a robot) is somewhat offensive, especially for those who’ve worked in the service industry. Just don’t do it. This airport offers so much more for your coin. Find a table that won’t distance your conversation via digital doom.

Very eyecatching first impression upon entering the terminal after arrival, had a long layover while connecting to SMF. Tables and tables of iPads… I snagged a single table and tried the iPad/wifi for checking flight status, and looked at the food menus while charging my iPhone and laptop. The burger that caught my eye was the«Jucy Lucy» Minneapolis tradition. It’s essentially a cheeseburger that has the cheese inside the meat patty in addition to on top. A piece of cheese is surrounded by raw meat and cooked until it melts, resulting in a molten core of cheese within the patty. Ordering was simple, I had the cheeseburger and a lemonade, paid with card with the reader/swipe on the side, and the order/waiter came promptly. The server warned me to let the burger cool for a minute or cut it open with my knife first since the scalding hot cheese tends to gush out at the first bite, ha. The fries tided me over until the burger was ready to go. As I wandered through the terminal to my connecting gate, I noticed other airport restaurants with the iPad systems, but different menu offerings, of course. Next time I’ll bring some kind of wipe though, public iPads looked kinda well-used, clean your screens, people. Especially after eating a greasy burger!
