Best Fish tacos ever! I had major fish taco cravings when I was pregnant and decided to give Rusty Taco a try after a trip to the neighboring Trader Joes. A year later and I’m still hooked! Most places fry their fish tacos, but these are grilled and taste so fresh. The pico is also perfection. I only wish they had a location closer to my home. Luckily their food truck stops downtown about once a week in the warmer months so I’m able to feed my obsession on my lunch break at work.

Yummmmmy!!! I love the mix and match. Try one or try them all. They serve beer and take your pick of the hot sauces. Give it a try.

Casual, tasty, good prices, good vegetarian and fish options! Homemade salsas are good, too.

So many flavors of tacos, surly on tap, yummy guacamole! The tacos are 2.50−3.00 each and very solid portions for the price. The atmosphere is a little odd and their music choices weren’t my favorite, but service was good and fast and the food was super tasty! I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here, but I would certainly go back next time I’m in the neighborhood.

I ordered via Bitesquad so I don’t know if in-transit time contributed, but the tortillas on the tacos were too soft and falling apart and did NOT taste good. I ended up just eating the filling out with a fork. I did otherwise enjoy the grilled fish, beef fajita, and roasted pork. I did not like the fajita chicken. All of them were overloaded with cilantro to the extreme. I don’t mind cilantro, but I don’t love it either. I had to pick a lot off. As a whole, I was disappointed and wish I would have spent my money elsewhere. I won’t be eating food from Rusty Taco again.

First time visit, I had 2-fish tacos(fried) with a chipotle crema, which was nicely spicy; red cabbage & cilantro which was fresh and flavorful. I also had chips, which were warm and crispy and a generous helping of guacamole served in a large dollop like ice cream in a cup, which was fresh, smooth with church’s of tomatoes, onion and avocado. Service was very fast(3:30pm) b/c it was late in the afternoon. Staff was friendly and helpful. The menu has a good range of selections, includes breakfast tacos for the morning crowd, and a descent selection of beverages including beer and wine(just a couple of options though.) I’ll come back for lunch.

Quick service, I had the Rusty tacos and the fish tacos. Both were good but small serving. Tortilla needs to be warmed up with a little olive oil. Or just a little longer, needs to be softer. Not really authentic Mexican tacos but they are good.

There is something off with this place. Maybe it’s the location. Maybe it’s the staff. It just feels shady. But the tacos are excellent and reasonably priced. I’ve never had anything bad here, really. If you’re hungry get three tacos and try every type.

I’m excited that«street style» tacos are becoming popular, but for every great restaurant that opens, there’s one that misses the mark. I’ve been here a couple times because it’s convenient, but I’ve been underwhelmed. The tacos are a bit too light on the meat and sauce, and too heavy on the onions. The tortillas are drier than most and you don’t always get 2 tortillas per taco. I love the double tortilla tacos that most of these places have because it lets them load up on the sauce without fear of breakage. Anyway, the combination of dry tortilla, not enough sauce or meat, and too much onion gives the tacos a bland, slightly burnt flavor. And while the prices are not overly high, they’re still 50 cents to a dollar higher than some taco places I’ve been to(where they are $ 2 even). Overall, just not great food. I’d recommend going elsewhere. The good news is, there are a lot of places now offering this same style of taco.

Stopped in with my daughter around 4:15pm on a weekday. I only saw one parking spot open, but we got it! So we had no problem with that as others have noted. Tacos here are priced $ 2.50& $ 3 each. No deals for ordering multiples. My daughter wanted the quesadilla, which was $ 2 for a half-size. It was small, but we really just wanted a fast snack, and this fit the bill. I wanted to try their unique offerings, so I ordered their signature Rusty Taco(pork, pineapple & onion) and a BBQ Brisket Taco(BBQ brisket & slaw). In comparison to other reviews, during our visit, the staff was friendly, helpful and seemed pretty happy. There was a thoroughly adequate amount of meat on both my tacos. The meat was tender, moist & fairly flavorful — they weren’t over-the-top delicious or anything, but definitely good. I tried their hot salsa, which was fiery. The menu has gluten-free options very clearly marked. I’ll keep this in mind as a solid place to get a reasonably priced, fast, unique snack.

I saw this place had mixed reviews so I was hesitant. However, my three friends and myself all had a great experience. The tacos were all delicious, we had a brisket, pork, the rusty taco and the shrimp taco. The shrimp taco was by far the winner. Also had chips and pico and queso. Both were good. Only gave it four starts because the tacos are small for the price, but each was adequately filled with meat and toppings.

This was my first time here, I heard this place started off as a food truck. I order 6 different tacos, # 10 was delicious and # 1. I honestly thought for the prices the tacos were good, their chips are fresh which was surprising! I order 5 tacos for $ 17 bucks including a soda. I gave it three stars because I thought it wasn’t authentic enough and the sauces they have available was ok but their tacos are worth the price.

Extremely fast. Pretty cheap too but the tacos are tiny. I ordered two and should’ve gotten three, because I was still hungry. Still, two tacos for under $ 6. I got the pork and the grilled fish. Both were good– not crazy amazing or anything but solid.. Next time I’ll get 3. The habanero sauce that you can add is delicious. I love that it’s right next to Trader Joe’s– I stopped in after getting some groceries.

Rusty Taco is definitely stronger as a food truck rather than as a brick and mortar. The atmosphere isn’t special, and the employees aren’t overly helpful or friendly. The tacos are good, but they certainly aren’t anything special. I particularly enjoy the fish; however, similar quality can be found in a lot of places. No matter which salsa you choose, there is more to be desired as far as flavor is concerned. They do have wonderful tortillas, but they definitely don’t make the meal. Finally, the price does not reflect the quality. It’s ~$ 3 per taco, and they aren’t very big. All that being said, find another fast casual Mexican place, and skip Rusty Taco.

A little on the spendy side, Rusty Taco nevertheless offers a wide variety of intriguing taco options and they are quite filling so beware. The sauces offered on the table are also very good, they have some kick. Good spot for lunch but if they could bring the prices down a tad it’d be even better and would warrant repeat visits. The prices per taco aren’t terrible but if you want a drink you’re screwed on affordability. As others have said, the parking is horrendous. I went on a Sunday afternoon and lucked into a spot after circling in the lot a couple times, but I can’t imagine this during a lunch rush. Please open a location in downtown and south Minneapolis.

My experience was entirely underwhelming. Although the food was very cheap, both the brisket and carnitas tacos I got were bone dry. The saving grace was the fried fish taco. If I come back, which is not high on my to do list, that is probably all I will order.

I tried Rusty Tacos for my first time. I’d rather eat Taco Bell than go there ever again. My Boyfriend & I order a bunch of tacos so we could try a few different kindS. Out of about 6 flavors the only one we cared for was the Baja Shrimp but even that wasn’t very good. The Service was slow & the employees didn’t seem to know how to use the computer. Bad experience.

I’ve visited Rusty Taco twice now, and have mixed feelings about it. The food is average or slightly above average. My biggest complaint is that they are TINY and only available per taco. WHYNOTOFFER A 5OR6PACK?! PLEASEFORTHELOVEOFGOD! No one in their right mind will be filled by 1 or even 2 tacos, so why only offer them individually. I would be much much happier if you offered 6 for the price of 5 or a similar deal to people with real hungers. Moving on, they have 4 – 5 beers on tap, but when I visited recently all but 1 was empty. They serve this tap beer in a 8−10oz plastic logo cup. The cup doesn’t really excite me much, and it is too small for a beer. It is a great size for kids drinks, but not Dad’s tap beer. They do have a few bottles and cheap cans of mexican beer available as well. The tacos are good, with lots of varieties. What is interesting is that the fish tacos are actually the best thing they have. The Nacho’s were super weak if you ask me, so I’d advise against them. The restaurant is kind of trendy, think of a Chipotle setup that you built from stuff you found at home depot and pier 1. The stuff behind the counter is cluttered and ugly though. They could either use some cleanup or shelving to hide the stuff so it doesn’t look so ugly. Overall, decent tacos, small beers, and no option for a combo meal/multiple taco deal. They do serve the tacos quite fast which is probably the best thing this place has going for it.

Rusty Taco will satisfy your taco craving but it won’t make you jump up and shout OLE! Roasted pork taco filling needed a little zip, as it was all rather bland meat and not a lot of flavor. The fish taco was better. Both tacos had sub-par tortillas – not warm as promised. Counter service means food arrives fast. Tacos were cheap but with beverages the tab adds up. I can see coming back for a snack after a Trader Joe’s expedition but don’t see myself making a special trip.
