Veggies are cheaper here then Publix. Smaller store but less crowds. Always pleasant staff.

its a pretty typical chain grocery store. It’s close to the neighborhoods AND they play really great 1990s pop music while you shop. They also have a Bell that customers can ring on their way out it they feel they received good service

NOTSAFEATNIGHT. There’s lighting in the parking lot but most of them are blocked by the trees. Tonight we watched a guy who was loitering in the parking lot and who looked like he’s looking for people to accost or soliciting people in the parking lot. There was an old lady who came out of the store with a cart half full of grocery, and I sensed he was watching her so we stayed in the parking lot until she finished loading the grocery into the trunk of her car before we headed into the store. There’s not a lot of traffic in the parking lot, and there’s no other businesses around so if something was to happen, it would had gone on unnoticed for awhile. When we headed out, we thought the guy left but then we saw walked across the parking lot to the dark gas station next door. There were two vehicles parked there. A few seconds after he disappeared into the dark, one of the vehicles started and left there. HIGHERPRICES. I have been comparing prices, and this Winn-Dixie’s prices, for the most part, are higher than Publix. I’m under the impression that the place is not catering to the folks who live on the other side of 4th. They do not carry higher end stuff. However, the prices are higher even for the low end stuff. When it was Sweet Bay, some prices are a few pennies lower than Publix’s. That doesn’t seem to be the case here. The only organic butter that they carry is their own brand. The only butter(cream & salt/sugar) is Land O’ Lake. The organic eggs are about $ 2-$ 3 more than even Fresh Market on 4th. I’m not sure what Winn-Dixie’s intention is with this store but it doesn’t seem to include gaining customers and increasing sales. I was there opening day. A gentleman was wakling past a table stationed right inside the sliding glass door where the Redbox is. The guy standing next to the table was pitching the Winn-Dixie customer loyalty card. The gentleman asked him, do you work here? He said yes. The gentleman said something to the effect that he didn’t get good service at the Deli section and that the prices are higher. After the gentleman walked out, the lady behind him said, I agree with him, the prices are higher here. She said something else, and the guy said, sorry, I don’t work here/for Winn-Dixie. I was there browsing the Redbox videos. Stunned. I thought, oh, boy. Hopefully, someone in management at Winn-Dixie see this review and straighten everything out. However, I doubt it as I had been to the Winn-Dixie on 34thST N &22ndAV N years ago. If Winn-Dixie management cares, that place wouldn’t look like that. I wonder how their stocks are doing.
