A more upscale motel 6 than most. It is all indoors which I love, with a nice pool with a waterfally type thing. The receptionists were very friendly, the place was very clean, and the ac worked wonderfully. The beds are nice and so are the pillows, and the desk area was clean, along with a nice tv. I would stay here again!

We stay at a lot of Motel 6th because they have an awesome pet policy. The Motel 6 in St Robert is far and away the cleanest we have stayed in recently. When we decided after 3 days that our room was too small, they found us a new room that was literally two rooms, one with a bed and FULL kitchen and the other was two beds and a bath for about $ 70 a night. I’m not saying we’d go there for a second honeymoon but I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a place in the area, with or without pets.

Tip: Second time staying here within a month. So my review will be for both stays. Late night desk clerk, Thomasetta(or T as she is called apparently) is genuinely friendly. Full Review: I drive across the country from Los Angeles to Ohio each winter to visit with family for an extended holiday. Since I am away for so long, I just have to take my little one with me(i.e. my cat that I treat like a child). Because of this and the fact that I don’t see the point in spending a lot of money on a hotel that I am only in for 6 hours, I stay at Motel 6’s. They are great for road trips especially with a pet. No pet fees! This particular Motel 6 was my home for two nights. Once in December 2013 and again on my way back to LA in January 2014. Both nights were fine and dandy and my cat had room to stretch his legs a little(as if stretching his legs all over my car isn’t enough). There were a few diferences each stay and I will get into that but first let me say that the lady who checked me in, in the middle of the night, both times is the friendliest Motel 6 clerk I have ever come across. The night clerk, T, seems to be genuinely interested in making sure her guests are happy and informed. She makes sure that you know the wi-fi password(even if you don’t ask), tells you about the coffee and tea available, let’s you know why you are being charged every penny that you are charged, let’s you know that she can grab the luggage cart so you don’t have to bring it back to the lobby, etc. Both times I was here, I felt welcomed and safe. I don’t even know this woman but if I lived in the middle of nowhere MO, I would like to know her. Anyway, on to the rooms. My first stay: December 19, 2013 —The room was a smaller room. I am only one person and my cat just likes to sleep on the slanted shelf under the TV, so small works. I always bring in a lot of luggage and food when I travel cross country because I don’t want it outside in the cold or to be stolen. I don’t think St. Robert is a high-crime area but living in LA has taught me to never leave anything in your car that you want to still own when you return. This room was, as requested, right next to an exterior door. I am a small chica so I don’t want to lug heavy bags too far(and I didn’t know there was a luggage cart when I requested the room). It was outwardly clean. No stray hairs in the bathroom or dead bugs on the floor. However, it did have a very distinct«cat pee» smell. Since it was 2:30 a.m. by the time I got everything into the room, I just didn’t care. Having a cat helped because I quickly adjusted and didn’t notice again until I started loading things back into my car and smelled fresh air. The door had a large gap at the bottom and I didn’t like that because cats like to stick their entire arms under doors. So I shoved towels into the crack to block it. In the morning I didn’t have clean bath towels for my shower because of this and was forced to use the tiny hand towels. However, both me and my cat slept just fine. My second stay: January 10th, 2014 —This time my mom was with me because she was driving out to LA to visit since she hadn’t visited, by herself, in a year. So that makes two humans and one semi-human cat that need a room. We requested two beds and were treated to one of the nicer Motel 6 rooms I have been in. It was very clean, very large and spacious and smelled fresh. The bedding was very modern and felt new. Such a difference a room can make in the overall perception of a hotel. We all slept well and my cat started a new hide-and-seek game where he disappears under the bed sheets because he thinks he will get to stay at the hotel forever if he does this(at least that’s what I assume he is aiming for). I know he would rather be in a big hotel room than a small, moving car but he didn’t do that in the Motel 6 stays I did on my way to Ohio in December so maybe it was a testament to the cleanliness of this particular room. Who knows? Cats be cray. Overall: This motel is perfect for travelers and since they offer 3 Bed Family Suites for longer stays, it is probably great for those who are actually visiting the area. There is a Waffle House with some of the friendliest employees to ever grace a Waffle House(see that review on my page). I am starting to think that St. Robert, MO might be the friendliest town in the Midwest. Stay here instead of St. Louis for sure(I did St. Louis last year and it was typical cheap-o motel) if you are just aiming for an overnight napping location.

As a child of two starving artists, one of whom insisted on driving across the country due to a fear of planes, I’ve stayed in a lot of Motel 6s. In fact, I rarely stay anywhere else. I have to admit that the quality really runs the gamut from roach infestations to surprisingly clean pools. I recently stayed at this particular Motel 6 after driving from NYC to St. Robert, MO(2 days in the car!). I was in town for my boyfriend’s graduation from Army BCT, and the woman at the front desk not only was professional, but she also answered a ton of questions I had related to going on base, attending graduation, etc. I’m assuming that many people stay here for events at Fort Leonard Wood, so the fact that the staff is so knowlegeable is extremely helpful. The room was extremely clean and spacious. The bathroom was clean and the shower had amazing water pressure. It was also 18 degrees outside, and I always had hot water. Maybe most people don’t care about toilets… but I think they’re important. This toilet flushed with conviction… unlike most motel toilets. It’s also important to note that the rooms are accessed from inside the building at this Motel 6. So, I always felt safe returning to my room late at night(as opposed to the other building type that offers outdoor access… where people tend to hang out on the balconies and watch you as you enter/leave). For $ 35/night, I was very happy with this experience.

Driving cross country, I stopped for food and gas in St. Robert. Talking to the staff at the restaurant, I was told that the Motel 6 was really clean so I figured to give it a go. They were correct. By no means is it a fancy resort, but it served my purpose. The staff(I’m sorry I didn’t get his name), was excellent. Super friendly and quick even though he was by himself and there was a mini-rush. I do wish there was a coffee pot in the room, but that’s nit-picking. The bathroom and bedroom were clean, quiet and large. I enjoyed my stay, the price was great and if I ever drive through again, I would stay there.

I gave this location a glowng review last year and I’m recinding it tonight. I stay with Motel 6 all over the country because it’s in my budget, worth the price, and always pet friendly. Tonight, I was asked to pay a pet deposit worth more than my room. If I could afford $ 100 a night, I wouldn’t be at Motel 6! I was not asked for a pet deposit last year and I have no gaurantee my money will be returned to me. I will take photos of my spotless room so I can defend myself against theft if I need to. I cannot afford to be swindled by an unscrupulous hotel manager!
