One of our most fave meals on vacation! What called our name here was a fusion of Italian and Venezuelan food. Hernan, the owner and his welcoming staff made sure we were thoroughly welcomed in their super bustling restaurant. It is a super great touch when the owner manager talks to you before you order and advises you on the offerings. If they do come around, it is usually at the end. That’s a great first impression. We ordered a chimmichurri steak, braised short rib with polenta, and I can’t forget the best Empanada I have ever had. Empanadas in Florida are common, but the flavor in this one was not! Everything we were served was phenomenal! Our server, hostess, the manager, and the rest of the staff were phenomenal as well! Sit inside or outside! Whatever makes you more comfy! They will take care of you!

Awesome food, great service in a place where they will remember you even after one visit. Amazing menu that is updated on a regular basis. Great wine selection. I had the lamb shank that required no knife.

That is the way a great food is served and enjoyed. Located close to the pier, del Sul offers a robust treatment of meats and other tasty food… The place fills up even out of season, but food here is always in the season. Strongly recommended.

Lovely dinner. Fresh and delicious food. At first service was a little slow due to an unexpected rush midweek but the staff quickly turned that around. Would definitely return if we come to the island again.

A pleasant departure from the usual fried seafood, standard fare one finds on St Simons. Del Sur has a unique offering, presentation and vibe drawing from many influences including a Columbian and Miami flare. Our server, Justin, was outstanding and really focused on the entire dining experience. Slow cooked lamb and empanadas were amongst the standout items and Justin paired both nicely with a Pinot Noir selection from their comprehensive wine catalog.

What can I say, this place is what you would expect. Delicious!!! My fiancé and I came here for Valentine’s day dinner and was expecting the place to be a mad house! Well, it was definitely busy but we had such great service that it didn’t even matter. Our waitress was the best! Took the time out to make recommendations and suggest a wine that was to die for! Thank you Rachel! Ask for her! You won’t regret it! The food just kept getting better and better with each bite! We had the beef and the lamb empanadas. Oh my word! They are out of this world delicious! So flaky and flavorful. Of course we got the polenta cause you have to get the polenta. Its a crime not to! My fiancé loves, and I mean LOVES the pancetta wrapped scallops. He wants to savor them and eat them all at the same time. Since we had such rich appetizers, we ordered chicken marsala and a side of pasta with white sauce. Best chicken marsala we ever did have! Chicken was moist, so flavorful! The sauce, the sauce! Writing this makes me wish I could go there for lunch right now. Sadly, I’m in California! Sigh… Will definitely be back next time we’re near! I can only hope Rachel is still there! Would love some more wine recommendations :)

A wonderful experience. Great food and wine. Awesome personalized service. Good value for a special place. Our friends have gone several times and concur, saying that our experience was no fluke. Ask for Ernesto or Democrate as a waiter and you will not be disappointed.

Love this place! One of our favorites on the island. Big fan of the steaks, always cooked to perfection and the accompanying sauce on the skirt blows my mind. Provoleta cheese app is also worth getting.

Food was good, but what was brought to the table didn’t look as advertised. Staff was friendly and attentive. Some what confused as to why they say they don’t have a liquor license-only beer and wine-except they served speciality drinks with Ketel One.

On our first trip to SSI we were looking for a dog-friendly restaurant to eat lunch at. We really hit a home-run when we happened on Del Sur! The service is first-rate and the food delicious. I had the beef empanadas and a salad, my husband had the sausage sandwich. Our food was cooked to perfection and served promptly by our friendly waitress. We ate al fresco on the shaded porch with a cool breeze, and classical jazz crooners playing softly from the outdoor speakers. Highly recommend!

So ultimately what it comes down to is that this a delectable experience. I had the spinach ravioli and empanada while my friend had the vegetables. The food was really well balanced and flavored. The server was also from South America, so she knew the food really well. However, ultimately, it was a bit pricey(especially for the South), and it wasn’t anything to write home to mom about. Décor-wise it was nice, but not anything unique. I mean it is nice to have something international on the island.

This is my new favorite restaurant in SSI. I have been here two times now and both times were fantastic. The first time I got the special, a cast iron dish with three meats and veggies. Last night I got the on menu skirt steak with a fantastic homemade chimichurri sauce. All the meats were cooked perfectly. They also have a pretty good wine selection. All the prices are very fair. The atmosphere is about as good as you can get when retrofitting a breakfast diner, they did a good job. I typically like fresh seafood when I am near the coast but I will be at Del Sur for each visit going forward. Highly recommended.

On a recent visit to St. Simons Island I ducked into this adorable restaurant for a quick bite to eat. I usually go for seafood when I’m on any of the islands but the line was soooo long at Iguanas(the island favorite) that I decided to go another route. I knew by the looks of it that this place would be a bit pricey but I was pleasantly surprised. Just about everything was under twenty bucks. Perfect for grabbing a quick bite before get on the road to head back home! I also had a feeling that the portions would be tiny. Boy, was I surprised when the chicken breast with chive oil that ordered took up the entire plate! It usually comes with mashed potatoes but I opted for a bowl of linguine with alfredo sauce. Everything was great, even my rum and coke! The only thing that I didn’t care for was the bread. You expect great bread with pasta. Theirs wasn’t bad, just not addictive like most bread baskets are. Great food, friendly and helpful staff. I’ll definitely return. Check out my blog for pics of my visit:

Imagine you were blind folded and told to throw a dart at the board to pick your meal at this place. Every throw would be a bulls-eye. Just like every choice you make off of Del Sur’s menu is a bulls-eye. Nothing you pick here is disappointing. Everything here is a winner in my book. After about 6 months of being in the area, a couple of my buddies and I decided that it was time to try some where new and Del Sur was our choice. To give you an idea about how great this place is, we have eaten here about 3 times in the past two weeks. When you see the menu and drool over all the selections, you will realize two things: You will hear your self say«Ohh that sounds/looks good» and that you’ll have to come back to try everything you want eat. I would recommend reservations if you are planning on dining after 6:30pm, I’m sure you have figured out by now, I am not the only one who realizes this place is awesome. Dinner here will run you about $ 30-$ 50 per person, so if you are looking for a bargain meal, let me point you to the dollar menu down the street at McDonald’s. The service has always been nothing less than excellent. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and on point with beverage refills and table clearing. The two owners have always been onsite greeting guests and inquiring about their dining experience. I also have not had to wait more than 5 – 10 minutes for any item order to arrive at our table. They also have an extensive wine list. There are about 7 appetizers to choose from and I’ve had them all. The Grilled Provoleta which is topped with Fresh Tomatos, Caramelized Onions and Oregano is my favorite followed by the homemade Empanadas which comes in Beef, Chicken, Spinach and Ricotta, or lamb. Another favorite light appetizer is the Disassembled Caprese Salad which consists of Fresh Mozzarella and Fresh Tomatoes Dressed with Basil Pesto and Balsamic Reduction. All of the appetizers I have ordered have been shared with the others on my table as it is a great way to «Try everything». For your main entrée, Del Sur offers a great Angus Grilled Skirt Steak. Its a thinner cut of meat, but really flavorful and easy to cut, eat and enjoy. Melts in your mouth. The only thing I regret is not getting this steak the first time I came here as I went with the rib-eye with peppercorn sauce on my first visit which was great as well. The rest of the menu is mouth watering and I definitely would recommend paying this place a visit. Once you’ve finished your meal here, you’ll think you’re in the movie the terminator because everyone walks out of Del Sur saying«I’ll be back».
