This is Saint Simon’s ONLY place you get to try craft beer on tap AND take it home with you. With 40 to choose from(includes non alcoholic soda, and gluten free beer) there’s something for everyone. Local laws and regulations prevent the sale of anything else aside from 32⁄64 oz Growlers to-go. That is not a managerial decision and they have been diligently fighting this since 2013. Local support is also needed for that, as Saint Simons is unincorporated under Glynn county and their rules prevent the business from allowing seating/samples/food and more. In the mean time they host Tap Takeover for breweries to come visit, show off their beer, and they give out freebies for those who attend.

At first I was expecting to come in have a beer or two, fill up my growler and leave. That’s what I’m used to from my hometown. Find out that in Georgia only certain counties can serve liquor and then sell liquor or beer. So I paid the three bucks and tried four different one oz samples of beers. They have a pretty decent selection of draft beer that you can take home from IPA, sours, porters whatever your looking for. The gentleman that was working when I got there was very knowledgeable about his beer, however I felt belittled when I was asking questions about beer. Like I should know the answer already if I’m asking. Overall it’s a cool place but I’d rather just go to a liquor store and buy some beer.
