Balducci’s Wood Fired Pizza & Wings

We have a had time finding a nice ce gluten free pizza and they do a really nice job. The staff are really helpful.

This is by far the best pizza and sandwiches we’ve had since moving up to New Hampshire.
We’ve done take out and dine in. The food is really good and consistent.
Everything is cooked in a wood fired oven. The wings are awesome. The lemon rosemary wings come with a mountain of caramelized onions and some foccacia bread. They are fall off the bone fantastic. The garlic Parmesan wings come in a close second.
The pizza is really good. We order it «as is» and it’s cooked perfectly; not over done and not underdone. Crust is crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. I’d say it straddles the line between thin and thick crust pizza. Our favorites are the roasted veggie (definitely get the garlic yogurt sauce on top) and the chicken pancetta although ALL the pizzas we’ve had have been great. The veggies and toppings they use are big and plentiful.
The sandwiches we’ve had also have been excellent. Favorites include the chicken supreme (chicken, roasted zucchini, goat cheese, caramelized onions) and the steak focaccia (steak, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, caramelized onions). Sandwiches are huge and come with a side (salad, roasted fries, mac and cheese, potato salad, chips etc)
They do have a nice kids menu.
They also serve beer and wine.
They do have gluten free pizza too; it looks much thinner than their standard pizza.
I wish they’d open up more locations!

We ordered take-​out from here. The poutine was, meh as was the pizza. The crust wasn’t crist like you’d expect from a wood-​fired pizza. I preferred the pizza after it was cold the next day from the fridge. Pizza should always be better hot.

We live in north andover and i insisted we drive to salem to get pizza. I am a nurse and a patient brought us balduccis. I have been hooked ever since. The white pizza is absolutely heavenly!

Spineta pizza was delicious. Their wings aren’t the best but I’d definitely go back for that pizza.

Went in for a salad for lunch. Got steak tenderloin salad. The salad was big, but consisted of iceberg lettuce, 4 tomato slices, 4 cucumber slices, and a couple of bell peppers. Tenderloin was very tender, but had no flavor. The pizza looked good, and I would come back to try something else in the future.

What a joke. I boycotted it for months because they messed up my order. I thought It was safe to have a pizza delivery.…um nope! I called and ordered a large 2 topping and a small cheese. The bimbo on the phone suggest the 2 for 20 deal. .ok great. So after an hour they call me because they took my address as the poker room instead of my home… ok fine. Then they show up with the wrong order. It’s my child’s birthday and I ordered pizzas in a timely manner because we are going to Mötley crue. Now u ruined his birthday dinner and we are extra pressed for time and need to go get dinner somewhere else. Never coming back. ;)

Friendly girl at the counter. Our pizza came out very quickly and was cooked perfectly and delicious! Clean and nice looking restaurant. We are not from the area but are pleased with our decision to stop here!!!

I really wanted to like Balducci’s-but after two times going there with less-​than-​pleasant food experiences, I guess it’s not meant to be. But, the people are really nice and it’s good customer service.
The poutine we got was not poutine as is described. A huge dump of gravy, miniscule amount of mozzarella over not-​cooked-​through potatoes (it said fries in the description) is a more accurate way to describe it. I can always heat up the potatoes to actually cook them all the way through, but I wish it was already done for me.
The calzone I got literally fell apart as soon as I put it in my hands; the dough-​to-​chicken ratio was inadequate. I also realize there are starving children in other parts of the world, so it won’t be wasted. It was just messy, and not a ton of time was taken with it (even though it was a thirty-​five minute wait) and considering it was slow when I got there, I figured more care would have been taken in the food preparation.
I am all for supporting local business and the restaurant is nice and clean and aesthetically-​pleasing, and the people working are so nice. I just wish the food was a bit better.

The pizza is good. I like it. The rice bowls are ok. Im giving this two stars because that answering system they have needs to go… its ridiculous… you’re a pizza shop… not a call center in India. Parking lot is big always able to find a space. Interior is old, and looks like a house of pizza rather than a nice classy stone fired pizza restaurant. One of the better places for pizza in the area. Price to spend on food for them to deliver is a bit high as well.

Balducci’s is my new favorite restaurant by far! I tried this restaurant on Monday with my fiancé, and we were truly amazed. This is the best pizza we have both ever had! Better than New York pizza and it even trumps pizza from Italy! The restaurant is comfortable and cozy and adorably decorated with an Italian theme, complete with Frank Sinatra playing in the background. The most memorable thing about our experience, though, was the outstanding customer service Jasmine gave us and the rest of the customers dining and on the phone. She was unbelievably welcoming and sweet. She checked in with us often, and she guided us through the menu with some great suggestions (You must try the Chicken Pancetta pizza – her recommendation was spot on!). Her bubbly, friendly, and happy personality is very contagious. The chef was great too! Balducci’s is surprisingly affordable for the quality of food and service. I honestly am thinking about going back tonight or tomorrow (I went two days ago!). I will never order pizza from anywhere again!
Ps. We ordered the Lemon Rosemary wings which comes with Rosemary flatbread which is to die for, the Chicken Pancetta pizza which has an interesting combo of ingredients but together is heaven in your mouth, and also the Cinnamon breadsticks at the end which were sinfully delicious! Would highly recommend it all!

the only way to go is to «get out of the (pizza) frying pan and into the FIRE!» Balducci’s delivers one of the best pizzas in Boston metro, certainly anywhere north of rt. 128.
My only criticisms are that they get heavily overrun on Fri and Sat nights and have a tough time keeping up, and I wish they’d tone down the florescent lighting and loose the cheezy gambling arcade that makes the place seem «divey». But that just noise. It’s all about the fresh ingredients and wood fired recipes that come through time and time again.
The owner Derek is a good business man and chef in his own right, and takes his business very seriously. I’ve seen him elegantly deal with problems while keeping his cool, take critical feedback seriously while always standing behind his product and customers, and nicely showcase his business on cable TV. I travel from North Andover just to avoid the mediocre greek-​style/​conveyor belt pan pizzas that reside in every shopping plaza and strip mall in the Boston suburbs, and Bertucci’s which use to make a good pizza before they went commercial/​mass market and gave up on wood in their ovens.
Also good to see them branch out into wings, paninis and rice bowls, but I haven’t been able to pass on the pizza to give them a try yet.
I recommend visiting Balducci’s on a weeknight so you can savor the pizza fresh from the oven without the chaos, talk with his pizza chefs who share Derek’s care and pride in their product, and to enjoy a beer or glass of wine (or two). Boun Appetito!

Soggy pizza and undercooked wings! The crust taste like cardboard. Very disappointed in the overall flavor of the pizza, the sauce had no flavor either.

My family has been to Balduccis a few times. Each time has been a great experience. My husband and son love all the wings. I can make a meal out of the bread that comes with the wings. We all agree the pizza is the best in town. Last time we were in my son said, «we gotta come here Every time».

Poor service– good pizza.
The worst part is calling in and going through that terrible voicemail system, it’s useless– other than for repeating the stale daily special. Then once you hear a human they say please hold and then the phone is put down and you hear the other customers ordering and stupid small talk. There’s a better way to take phone orders.

Get the pizza. I tried a veggie sandwich which wasn’t that great (the bread was good) and I decided to get a chicken soup which was not good at all– it was actually quite terrible.
The counter help could still use training for sure but I really love their pizza, so I will continue coming here just for that. I’ll skip the rest.
It’s actually one of my favorite places to get a slice ever!

Still four stars. We talked with the owner, and inquired about catering for a pizza party that we hosted at our home.
He was initially responsive, however then did not return phone calls.
We found someone else.
Four stars for the pizza, and 2 for service.
Also another positive, that they text specials to your phone. So be sure to sign up.
