Stopped by here on my through the area. Got an Italian beef with hot peppers, dipped. It was phenomenal. One of the best beefs I’ve ever had. Growing up in Chicago that’s not an easy thing to say! The prices are cheap and the portions are large! Great bang for your buck. Charlie, the owner personally came and asked me how my meal was. Very very nice women. Not sure what all the other reviews are talking about. Wish I lived closer as this would be my go to place!

I stopped in here over the weekend to grab a quick bite to go as I was farm sitting in the area. I must say I was looking forward to the food after reading about the owners passion for the business. I ordered a burger and«onion rings.» The burger was okay, the bun was kind of soggy by the time I got home(5 mins) due to the heat in the wrapper I think. The onion rings however did not resemble rings. And I think they were also fried too long because they just tasted burnt. I feel like they gave them to me since it was a takeout order and I wouldn’t see them before I got home, and this is extremely disappointing. I’d like to say I’d give this place another shot, but I’m hesitant…

Not impressed. Ordered the chicken bacon ranch salad. Good size for the price, however, it had yellow onions in it, red onions are much better in a salad, the tomatoes were the grape tomatoes, which is okay, but they were whole, they should have been sliced or chopped so they are easier to eat, and the chicken, if it was chicken, had a mushy texture and tasted old. This could be a great menu item, if they tweak it a bit. Also ordered mozzarella sticks, they were good, then ordered the deep fried brownie bites with icing. They tasted like they were fried in the same oil as the fries, and the icing was grainy and beige. Not sure if it was supposed to be beige, I threw it away after the first taste. Overall disappointed that I spent my hard earned money here.

Stopped by last night after the cold/rainy track meet at Central High. Everything was top notch. We ate in and the service was good. Two gyro orders and a cheeseburger order. All were happy. Many to go orders were picked up as we were dining in. We will be back.

We stopped at Charlie’s for lunch on a weekday. They were not very busy. Ordered two hotdogs with fries and two drinks. Easy right. The waitress seemed very unorganized to say the least. She did bring our drinks. And we WAITED and WAITED for our sandwiches??? Other customers came in ordered with another person… They got their food and we still WAITED. This happened twice or three times. Finally we got up too leave and she said your food will be right up. I don’t think so. They REALLY need to get their act together. We would never go back. No idea on how the food is.

I was here the first day they opened and then came back a few months later. I personally know the owners and they had to get rid of the old cook, so if you did have a bad experience idd urge you to come back. They have awesome Chicago style food with a few signature items that are out of this world. Give it a shot and talk with the owners about what you think, they truly care about your service and food.

This is an interesting restaurant, because I am not sure what it wants to be. They serve fast food, but it is a quasi-sit down restaurant setting. The prices are high for what you get. A two dollar up-charge to make your hot dog a Chicago dog seems a bit much just to add tomatoes and celery salt. The service is really slow. Took me over 15 minutes to get 2 hot dogs and fries and there was only one other customer in the restaurant. That seems too long for a fast food/hot dog stand restaurant. The food was good however.

Prices are very high 3.99 just for a chicago style hotdog another 2.99 for frys and a drink. Takes way to long for the food to come out. And the dinning area is was to small.
