Cosgrove’s Liquors

I have lived in salem for 8 years and everytime i go to this store the people are so rude and all honesty there are way better liquor stores in salem.

Went here about a week ago and was excited to see a wide variety and selection of craft beers. So I bought some.
I came back a week later and was told they do not accept out of state IDs if you are under 30. Even with backup. (Even though I had used the same ID a week ago and had no issue). Suit yourself– I will be taking my business elsewhere.

My neighborhood packie! I love Cosgrove’s. My parents always went here, and I do too. It’s got a great selection of liquor, beer, and wine (seriously, the wine selection is awesome), plus some snacks and mixers. I can always find what and I need and staff is friendly.

Great selection. Usually our go to liquor store. Can’t go wrong witH responsible prices.

Cosgrove has the best prices in Salem… hands down… People are really nice and they try to accommodate you with any requests. they also have a good selection of micro brews for a small store

This is probably the best liquor store in Salem. It’s a big place so they have the room to stock it nicely. I am a fan of beer and their make your own six pack section (lots of craft/​microbrews) gets me very excited.
My GF, who I love and is very sweet, and I had been dating a few months and I had this dream:
I’m following her into Cosgrove’s, I have a red shopping basket, she goes right to the first aisle closest to the door. As I stand there she eagerly dumps bottle after tiny bottle of Sutter Home wine (the kind that comes in a four pack minus the cardboard holder) into the basket. It’s like an endless flow of little bottles and my arm is getting tired but I sense she is serious. The basket is near overflowing, I can hardly hold it off the ground I ask, «what are you going to do with all these small bottles?». To which she very strongly replies, «I’m gonna fucken drinkem that’s what!!»

Nice selection, reasonable prices and a helpful staff. The only reason i took off a star as some undesirable peeps from a certain rooming house nearby tend to congregate in the store and in the parking lot asking for change or bumming smokes some times…

this is an excellent liquor store. they have a great selection and the prices are pretty comparable to everyone else. the prices are better than a convenience store anyway. i think the beer selection is better than most places in the salem area, actually. the staff is always down-​to-​earth and efficient. there’s always a couple people in line but they go super fast.
my last name is 2 letters off from «heineken» and it’s a family tradition to scratch off/​add on letters to coasters. last year for father’s day i decided to get my dad one of the heineken mini-​kegs and change it into our last name (even though he doesn’t drink heineken). i told the women at the counter about it and they ran around the place finding me ribbon to decorate the top. i did not ask for ribbon. where the hell else are you going to have people do that for you? what a delight!
just make sure you have your ID. they’re hyper about that. they’ll card the person buying and anyone else that came into the store. i know this may be slightly annoying to people, and i am someone that gets squeamish when being carded because i don’t know what to do and where to look while i wait, but i respect that they’re so careful.
also, if you have someone in the car that is underage, you may want to go somewhere else because they’re not going to sell you your stuff. i think that’s awesome, although i’m sure nobody else will agree. i’m not some anti-​underage drinking fiend or anything, i just like abiding by laws once in awhile.

Alls I can say is they carry my organic, sulfite free red wine for $ 8 (Our Daily Red). Friendly folks, too, as far as liquor store people go.
