The food has gone downhill a LOT in the last year or so. Mediocre at best to downright gross. Their Kung Pao used to be fresh and delicious, now… meh. General Tso’s was crispy and the sauce light. Now it’s goopy and sickeningly sweet. Also, they don’t honor the coupons printed on their menus. «Purchase up to $ 30, get free General Tso’s Chicken» would suggest a free entre with any purchase $ 30 and under but they claim it means $ 30 minimum purchase(not that I would want the current version of Tso anyway). Same thing with the 15% discount for«purchase up to $ 50». They claim it means $ 50 minimum before the discount kicks in. Nope, that’s not how the language works folks. False advertising and bait & switch are illegal you know. No matter, I won’t be back after the disgusting lo mein I received tonight. The noodles were mushy and tasted metallic. I managed to find one single strip of pork in the entire dish.

Upon arrival at the restaurant I made my order online and also paid online and the cashier told me that I needed to pay for my order again. So I said I already paid online and I logged into my bank account and noticed that they already charged me however the forced me to pay again. So I had to call my bank on the way out of the restaurant to report that it was double charged. Once I got home however I found out that my order was wrong as they included things in my rice that I didn’t ask for. So be warned of this place the other reviews may trick you but the service is awful.

This place has the worst Chinese food in Salem. We made the mistake of ordering here the other night. The food that wasn’t wrong was burnt or cold. I would never recommend coming here.

Ordered some food for new year’s eve, placed the order around 2 pm for 6:30 pm. What I received: cold food, missing parts of the order and a whole lot of attitude when I brought it to their attention. Apparently my money was welcome but my satisfaction was not. If you are looking for good Chinese food of normal to high quality and a basic level of customer satisfaction, you should keep looking. «There is nothing we can do.» — this is what they said to me.

I’ve ordered here a few times and it’s been forgettable but decent enough when I need a Chinese fix. Crab rangoon is pretty good. I ordered the peking noodle lo mein tonight and they should probably remove it from the menu. It was noodles in soup and not at all spicy like they advertised. Pretty disappointed.

Massachusetts hidden gem of Chinese Food. Ive eaten all over the state and this is definitely one of the better Chinese dives around. If you go in and the young Chinese guy is working the desk, you will get an earful. When you go in try the white fried rice and you’ll be a believer.

The food is good, and the delivery is super fast. What more needs to be said?!

As newer residents to Salem we’ve been trying out plenty of food spots in town, this one is just awful. The lomein was greasy and smelled of bad shrimp, the general gaos chicken was dry and poor flavored, the fried rice had definitely been reheated for our order and the chicken terriyaki was extremely dry. Everything seemed as if it was a day or two old and had just been recycled for our order. I would never reend this place to anyone, and will never go back. My girlfriend ended up with a stomach ache that lasted the following day as well. Don’t waste your time here.

I’ve been a fan of this place since they opened back when I used to work across the street. But over the last year or so they’ve dropped in quality. Not horrifying, and still decent value, but I get the feeling that they just don’t try as hard as they used to. More indigestible bits in the chicken dishes. The appetizers(like scallion pancakes) are greasier and more uneven. It’s still a little better than the average Chinese takeout joint, but not the leader in Salem anymore for sure. You can do better.

I stopped in here and ordered something to go while I went across the street to the post office. When I returned I asked if I could use the bathroom. She said okay and directed me back. It was absolutely filthy. The toilet seat wasn’t attached. No signs warning employees to wash their hands. No toilet paper. Horrible. I paid for my food and dumped all of it in the garbage when I got home. No going back.

Fast delivery. Very friendly. However, not good food. We got the General ?(something) Chicken and the Sesame chicken. They really didn’t have a taste. My husband did say the egg rolls were good.

Prior to moving to Salem my girlfriend and I ate here, in August 2013, on a recommendation from a local at bar who told us it was the best Chinese joint in town. So we went and ate, and we both were quite disappointed. I don’t remember what I had then, but I just remember thinking«this food is mediocre at best.» Tonight, 1÷25÷14, after reading the reviews on Unilocal and seeing many folks liking it and swearing by it, I thought I would give it another shot and order something that sounded interesting on the menu. I ordered D15. Cashew Chicken with pork fried rice. Now, let me begin by saying there wasn’t a single cashew to found be in my meal! Instead of cashews I got huge cubes of celery(and I don’t much care for celery). The chicken and the sauce weren’t too bad, but there wasn’t much of a kick to it. The food itself has a very«oily» smell to it; in fact, the oil smell overpowers all the other smells. The fried rice was disappointing: it looked and and smelled like it was fried in three day old grease with a very over powering oil taste to it. I ordered a spring on the side and it was simply put — awful. I couldn’t tell you exactly in what oil it was fried in but it had a very unpleasant taste to it. This was particularly disappointing as I’m a big lover of spring rolls. The Wonton soup was at least a day old and tasted like it’s be sitting on low heat for about twelve hours. Have you ever stopped at a gas station late a night and grabbed some coffee and it tasted burnt? Well, the wontons have a very similar taste to them. Not to forget to mention it was salty. In short, I don’t recommend this Chinese place to anybody. Although, I am aware one cannot expect the same quality as «fancy» restaurants in the smaller take out joints — but this place just stinks.

My husband is enroute to Hong Kong King to demand a refund as I write this review. We expected a good experience from the many positive comments, however, we were given unspeakably terrible food this evening. So terrible, we question if it was even made today. Among the offenses; cold, stale rice, mutated chicken wings and 100% fatty boneless spare ribs. All of this complete with a putrid odor. We are new homeowners here in Salem and were looking forward to trying something close to our neighborhood. We will never return here again.

I somewhat enjoyed this average Chinese food until I had Kung Pao chicken that caused havoc in my stomach. Not eating here again.

Not the worst Chinese food in Salem, but close. The spring roll was really greasy. The egg foo yung was thick with big chunks of veggies, which would be okay if you like giant cubes of celery. I prefer more egg in my foo yung. The«gravy» that came with it was super thick and tasted strongly of soy sauce. The crab rangoon was atrocious. No crab whatsoever that we could taste, and filled with scallion and carrot. It had a very off-putting texture, nasty. Will not order from here again.

It really disappoints me to have to write this review because up until today, this was my go to place to get Chinese take out! Last weekend I ordered some take out and paid over the phone with my credit card(which I normally do). I am not sure who changed the tip amount, but when I went to verify the charge on my account I noticed they added almost $ 10 more for my order(which is much more than the $ 2.00 tip I signed for). I tried calling the restaurant and was put on hold for over 10 minutes! Now I am going to have to go in person to dispute the charge. The food is usually very good and the portions are big, but if(and that is a very BIGIF) I ever order again I would either pay cash or pick it up myself. If you order from here, BECAREFUL when using your credit cards!

Very good cheap americanized Chinese food! I have enjoyed everything I have ever gotten from this place(and I have now tried quite a few). The lunch specials are insane, all under $ 6 and contain enough food for two!!!
