Jesse, BK, and Lia: Are you guys serious with this place? Worst Chinese food ever. I’d rather eat mall Chinese food than this crap! Unfortunately, though, terrible food is the least of the problems with this place. I ordered delivery, and when the driver arrived with our food she JUSTOPENEDTHEDOORANDWALKEDINTOMYHOUSE without knocking or ringing the bell! What the hell? Who does that? My boyfriend almost knocked the lady out, thinking she was a robber or something! Un-freaking-believable. I’ll never order from this place again.

My first experience getting take-out from this place wasn’t an overly great one, but it wasn’t the absolute worst either. I ordered the shrimp with broccoli. The proportions were pretty skimpy and it really wasn’t that flavorful. Now, lets talk about the second time I ordered take-out from Sun Garden. Unsure of precisely just what I wanted, I figured I couldn’t go wrong with the butterfly shrimp and mixed vegetables. $ 9 and some change… I wondered how big could this meal be for all that. Upon getting all of our food home and taking a look at what was inside the slightly soiled brown paper bag, I was a little excited at first. A large thing of white rice, a large container of vegetables and a large container of shrimp. Once I further inspected it, my heart wasn’t so content. The vegetables were a mix of wilted cabbage, onions, and soggy mushrooms. I counted a total of 3 carrots and everything was being taken over by water chestnuts. They were all kind of floating around in a very thick brown syrupy gunk. I figured, eh, put it on some rice and it’ll be fine. Boy was I wrong. The whole thing just tasted. wrong. The best part? The shrimp. And by best I sarcastically am referring to it as the worst part. I had maybe a total of 6 shrimp in the large container. Around each shrimp, layer upon layer of battered deep fried-ness made a shrimp the size of a silver dollar appear to be the size of my hand. After just eating one of them, I didn’t feel all that right. My dog, who just loves to beg for all my food, didn’t even lift her nose at the smell of this meal. Later that night I found out what a half digested meal from here looks like. I was even more sick the next morning. Definitely going to find some where else to meet my Chinese food cravings.

My favorite Chinese place. They have really good food. Their crab ragoons are sweet and crunchy, like none other. Also the peiking ravioli and lo mien are really good. Other than that everything is pretty average, but good. the service isn’t always great, but if you pick up your food it’s usually done in under 10 mins, at least for a $ 25 or less order. Four stars because they’re pretty average on most things and vry inconsistent.

I tend to order the same items at every Chinese food place I go — General Tso/Gao/Mao Chicken, Lo mein(usually the House Special with chicken, beef and shrimp), and some sort of appetizer. I used to go with the Crab Rangoon but recently had a hankering for the Boneless Pork Ribs. I echo the sentiments of Lia — delivery averages between 45min to an hour,(I’m about a mile away), never had any problems ordering with a credit card and getting them to add a tip for the driver in advance. The General Tso is good — not too greasy, not overly crispy, the sauce is just the right spicyness and thickness — I started getting my Tso on at Kiki’s which was hideous and then Honga but found Sun Garden to be better. My only complaint is that bigger shrimp should be used in the Lo Mein or Fried Rice so deveining is possible. There’s nothing more nasty than dirty-tasting, gritty, shrimp.

Consistently good, not great, Americanized Chinese food(which is the only kind I’ve ever had). They only do takeout. They are fast for delivery and the service is friendly. Try the ta chen chicken.
