Humble Pie Pizza

I have passed by this establishment many times while living here in Roanoke. Yesterday, I finally consumed a meal here after being invited by a friend. I think I will go back to just passing by the place.
I ordered a veggie sandwich, the veggies tasted like they had been treated with chemicals and the ciabatta had a very stale taste. The tea and the small bag of chips were fine. Overall, bland, bland, bland.
My dining companion had a pizza and it looked terrible to me. It may have been delicious. He did not say and I did not ask but going on how it looked I was thankful that I had ordered the chemically treated veggies.
The service was very good.

we are vegetarians, and we come to Humble Pie all the time. We found not only bacon on our pizza, but turkey as well. This was the SECOND attempt at making out pizza tonight. I am highly disappointed because we tossed away our pizza. this has not been the first time that this has happened. Get it together. They offered us free pizza, to which we took part in… and it still had meat in it. what the hell? I have never had this problem here. I wont come back … ever.

We ordered the doobie and the plain cheese and they were both delicious! We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Service was great, we were taken care of very well! We are from Phoenix so it was to experience what Salem, VA had to offer. Thanks Humble Pie!

Legitimately one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in the five years i’ve lived in Salem.
This was the first time I had ever been here. Enthusiastically took up their two-​for-​one pizza deal with some friends. First, the waitress was so monotone that I could barely understand why she was there in the first place. Then, she brought out the wrong pizza. I got a huge mouthful of blue cheese, which I cannot eat. Took her 25 minutes to come back and check on us. ‘
Upon finding out they’d given us the wrong pizza, she and who I assume is the cook SCREAMED at each other for five straight minutes right near where we were sitting trying to figure out who to blame. Made us all feel super awkward, especially as we were the only ones in the restaurant.
Brought us the right pizza, never came back to check on us. The second pizza was disgusting; tasted like italian dressing mixed with sugar drizzled on poor quality pizza. Had to hunt her down 30 minutes later to ask for check.
Will not be coming back.

Pizza is ok… Crust is very important to me, so in that regard I found the crust less than exciting. Pizza ingredients themselves are fine, but the sporadic herbs in the pizza dough do not make up for its texture… Chewy in texture inside and out, rather than crisp on the outside while fluffy inside make their pizzas less than exciting to me… Just my preference

The pizza is superb. Definitely makes up for the poor service. Super slow with only one server and it appears she is new. Teenage boy was helpful, but the «manager» was an older gentleman in a hat who was too good to refill a drink. Quite rude as well.

Solid four stars as its good, not great and only great gets 5. You won’t be upset eating here and prices are very good imo. Ill be back

I had heard a lot about this place from a local Salemite and it lived up to the hype. The menu was full of unique pizza combinations like «the Garcia» and «the Hendricks». I got the BBQ pork pizza and it was fantastic. The restaurant runs a 2 for 1 special so you and a friend can easily try different pizzas (and I think that the small is more than enough for one person)

The one good thing about being stuck in a hotel for the night… (aside from getting to lounge around in my undies with the heat cranked all the way up) is getting to find new places to Unilocal about. :)
However, after a long work day, about 8 hours of driving, and a brutal workout, I didn’t feel like getting back into the vehicle. So across the busy highway I stumbled, and into this cozy lil pizza parlor.
I ordered «The doobie»… It’s quite tasty (and although I didn’t get high off of it, it did give me the munchies). Alfredo sauce on pizza just tastes great. :) I didn’t stay and eat…(Yay carryout!), but there is a small dining area here. Much better pizza than you’d get at any of the popular chains like papa j’s, pizzaz hut, and demonos. They also had some other things on the menu other than pizza which I didn’t really pay attention to. :) Give it a shot!
