So, after noticing the pizza was old and that they had put fresh cheese on top of it, we called. How dare you insult my intelligence by telling me that there is no way it was an old pizza with fresh cheese on top. Scientifically speaking, the bottom layer of cheese underneath the pepperoni should not be darker than the top layer of cheese, so that’s not right. So, after calling and telling you about this mistake, you tell me that it’s impossible. Well here you go, pictures don’t lie.

Really enjoy the food here. Fast fresh and good portion sizes. My only problem is the service. The girl who answers the phone is incredibly rude. I called and ordered a cheese and pepperoni pizza. She proceeded to explain to me in a very rude demeanor how every pizza has cheese on it so I want a pepperoni pizza. We went back and forth until I hung up the phone. She literally felt the need to act like a smart ass for know reason. Everyone knows cheese comes on every pizza. I have ordered«cheese and pepperoni» pizzas my entire life without issue. Don’t patronize your customers. EVER. I’ll keep going here. It’s good and logistically to easy not to. Hopefully someone reads this and informs the counter service to just do your job with CLASS.

Good food. Good service. They have there bad days just like everybody else but they are open during late hours on weekends. My husband and I are regulars :)

I don’t think that it should be labeled as $. Instead it should be at least $$. They aren’t that cheap.

Sammy’s isn’t the worst place, but it’s far from the best. The food is greasy and we have had rude customer service on a few occasions. When I think of Sammy’s, I automatically think if a typical hangout for college kids after a Saturday night of drinking.

Average roast beef sandwich, onion roll is plain and not toasted. I compare most roast beef restaurants with Harrisons in North Andover and this one falls way short of my favorite. the fries are bland and unremarkable. this is NOT a bad roast beef place, it’s merely average.

Pizza was greasy, no flavor. Calzone was all meat, barely any calzone. Wont do it again.

Won’t be coming back here. Came on an understandably insane late-night-after-bar-closing rush. Order was taken after about ten minutes, but then our relatively simple order(two beefs, pizza roll), took over a half hour to come up. That is not an exaggeration. The entire post-bar rush had left by the time we got our food, and we were left standing there looking stupid for thirty minutes. The food was fine, I guess, but there’s too much competition for that market in this area to have shitty service. So long, Sammy’s.

Good burger which was house made. Fries were skinny and cooked perfectly. Asked for extra pickles and they delivered with the perfect amount. The sausage calzone was good too. I am going to try their seafood next time. We shall see!

this place is unbelievable. must be the holy grail for a real roast beef sandwich. as good as it gets. friendly people, really nice experience. will come here every time i pass thru, impossible not to stop in Sammy’s. i don’t understand all the idiots coming here for pizza or complaining about dumb stuff, get a clue, take a hint.

Basic cheese pizza get’s the job done, but is a little on the greasy side. My neighbors hate this place, due to not enough meat on the Hawaiian pizza. My worst meal was their buffalo chicken fingers. The sauce made everything smell and taste like white vinegar. Prices are on the cheaper side for Salem. Employees can be friendly sometimes, but are usually more on the surly side. The Bottom Line… If it’s 1 am in downtown Salem, the bars just closed, your options are Wendy’s drive-through or Sammy’s. Sammy’s is the clear, responsible* choice to get real** food to sober up until they close at 2 am. * Don’t drink and drive, or risk waiting 30 minutes in the drive thru line because someone else did, and literally fell asleep along with their passenger(yes, this happened to me at this Wendy’s) ** I use«real food» loosely here. This ain’t no scratch kitchen, but most of their stuff is better than fast food.

One of the only places in Salem open late at night. I work 3rd shift and they always take great care of me. The food is everything you’d expect from any decent sub shop. It’s fast, cheap, easy, and every bit as delicious as you could want. The staff is courteous,(even after midnight) helpful, and overall wonderful, especially for a group that’s open till 2AM(like I said, I work overnights. I sympathize) I would definitely recommend their subs or pizza day or night!

Oh wow. Where do I start? Everywhere I go, there’s a place advertising roast beef, so I can’t compare Sammy’s over their competitors, but I can share my experience. They don’t have a website or an online menu so you need to take the chance and head in. However, their menu is quite extensive with everything from roast beef to seafood to pizza to burgers. I didn’t feel like cooking so off we went to Sammy’s. I have always been attracted to it’s big white sign on the roof so I’ve had it bookmarked for a while. There’s nothing special inside other than to say it’s completely clean and tidy, and you are greeted with a smile. They were happily able to answer my questions about portion sizes and we eventually landed on 2 beef sandwiches and fries. After waiting a few short minutes, our food was delivered and we took our first bite. The beef was so tender and not fatty at all, add in a bit of mayo and a layer of provolone, and there were eyes rolling in the back of our heads. The bun was also so soft and buttery, and the fries were nicely cooked. Let’s also discuss how inexpensive this was. 2 people for under $ 20! So that means you all can enjoy dinner out even during rent week! Sammy’s just gained 2 more regulars to their list. I’m thinking about going back tonight.

I ordered delivery from here — small steak and cheese calzone. girl on phone was nice, delivery took about 35 minutes. Big disappointment with the calzone, the meat was tough and inedible, really disgusting. ended up throwing the whole thing away after the second bite.

I got a pizza with Hamburger + Onions, never have tried their pizza before. It was just awesome, very delicious, possibly best pie in the area at the moment.

I wasn’t too impressed with my roast beef sub. The beef was fine, but the bread was a bland as it gets(and slightly stale). Plus I don’t much like having to pay $.50 for a couple slices of tomato.

I have been to Sammy’s a few times now, but I don’t have much to compare it to except for Kelly’s. The staff is always friendly and nice and they are open late with a public bathroom. Great place to go after leaving the bar. My last trip I thought the buns could be toasted so they are less mushy — but it was still delicious.
