This is the Skippers furthest south I encounter as I head up to the Pacific Northwest. I used to usually stop by the one in Medford, across from the mall, but that one was closed, as have many others. This place seems to have been remodeled and new management has been brought in after the Skippers shake up as others have mentioned. The staff seems very attentive, friendly, and courteous. The food is good, freshly fried. The fish fillets seems to be a bit thin though and prices have gone up a bit. They seem to have different daily lunch specials which are a good deal.

This food and pricing are both great but what keeps us coming back is the customer service. Keep up the good work guys!

Wow, the new management has cleaned this place up and brought back it’s original glory! I LOVE the new sign outside! Fish is as yummy as ever and the chowder is still the same bowl of yummers! I also LOVE that they have coupons now too! I will be back over and over again!

We were pleasantly surprised, after not having been there for a year or two, finding after the remodel, how great the food is, pleasant décor, and how courteous and helpful the staff are! Fish is tasty & crispy, fries good & cokeslaw has always been great.

OK, it’s fast seafood. What do you expect? I admit, I like Skippers. Like, I really like Skippers, AKA Flippers. There aren’t many Flips left in the valley. This one and another in The Couv, WA. We were passing thru and I forced the Manfolk to stop. He wasn’t excited. But, I won! I ordered my regular, the all you can eat which includes fish, fries, chowder, coleslaw and a soda for $ 12.99. The MF got the special, fried salmon, with fries, slaw, etc., for $ 8. Guess what? He liked it! The crew was extremely good. Very attentive and nice. They actually gave a damn, or at least made it seem like they did. I appreciated the good service. No, it’s not fine dining or even to the Red Lobster standard, but we only dropped $ 20 and it was tasty. Thanks for coming through, Flippers! You did well.

This place is not any better under new management. They messed up our order & wouldn’t make it right. Come on folks $ 6.99 is worth having return customers. By the way. You could use some education around cleaning too. We won’t be back!

I have always loved skippers but this place is a real disappointment! The food is not fresh at all. Everything comes frozen out of a bag and they deep fry it so long its hard to chew. My chicken strips were so over cooked it was not even edible. Their prices are high for the low quality food you get. Fish tacos were terrible ! The new management was work and they were not very friendly and service was super slow. I would not waste my time coming here again.

New Management! I love this place. I’ve been going to Skippers since I was a kid and was very sad when they went out of business, but a married couple bought this one and started it again. My only complaint is the small-ish portions, but I’ll still be back. Still the best chowder I’ve had across the U.S.

Went tonight it was about 80 outside and 90 degrees inside. The cashier said the building was old so the air conditioning doesn’t work very good. Total was 35.00 for the 3 of us. Came with Luke warm clam chowder and hot coleslaw. Not the best. With as much as there food cost I would think the Management would at least buy a fan. Won’t be back

Can’t say anything for the food except if you don’t like seafood don’t come here. went with friends and couldn’t have anything on the menu. even worse I had to use the rest room while we were there. It looked pretty filthy to begin with but when I went to lift the lid the whole seat came off. I washed my hands and never looked back. The staff was friendly when we ordered.

I forgot why I stopped coming here, they no longer have battered seafood. Was frozen breaded fish. It tastes a little bland. Got 2 stars because of friendly staff and clean restaurant. Food(at the fish and chips) just okay.

The family wanted fish and chips so we stopped in at Skippers on Lancaster. The clam chowder very good in every way and was served with saltines which the kids loved crumbling up all over the stainless steel table(to my credit, I did clean up as much as I could before leaving). The bf and I ordered a four piece fish and chips each to share with the kids and both fish and chips were really good, hot and fresh. Skippers offers a selection of dipping sauces like ranch, tartar sauce, ketchup, and cocktail sauce and this was nice since the mister likes ranch and I like tartar sauce. As usual, the kiddies smothered everything in ketchup. Sadly, the malt vinegar tasted watered down and when I read the label on the Skipper’s label it does say that it’s a watered down mixture but I wish it had been full strength since I really prefer full flavor but it was better than no malt vinegar. The employees were really very nice and friendly to us all which helped make up for the fact that the store was run down looking and the light up menus on the wall were old with a piece of masking tape over an item indicating it was sold out and the signs only cover a third of the wall space. I know the economy is what it is but when times get better, Skippers should invest in new, updated signage to cover up the bare space. It would look a lot nicer! Overall, a very good experience and we really liked the food.

Bottom line: GREAT fish and chips. Although technically a fast food place, it doesn’t feel like one when you compare it to the likes of Taco Bell, Jack-in-the-Box, etc.(I enjoy these places for fast food, but they are the epitome of fast food). Skipper’s fish is high quality, fried up fresh to order(no heat lamps), and not overly greasy. Also, they bring your food to the table so it doesn’t feel like you are at a fast food joint either. The staff is very friendly and nice, and the cashier even gave us a discounted price($ 9.99) on their all-you-can-eat fish, chowder, and chips or baked potatoes which is normally $ 11.99($ 9.99 on Sundays and Tuesdays) even though we were there on a Monday. I can’t emphasize how delightful their fish and chips are(and I’ve eaten at a large number of fish and chips places including abroad too) and their clam chowder is some of the best. In my opinion, it’s way better food than the Red Lobster and much more reasonably priced; the only drawback is you don’t get the ambiance of a more high end casual dining restaurant.

I got their special with clam chowder, 3 pieces of fish, baked potato(you can also get fries), coleslaw, and a drink for a little over $ 8. The clam chowder had perfect consistency and a great flavor. I could drink bowls of it on a cold winter night! 2 customers ordered the large chowder, asked for 2 bowls, and that was their entire meal. The fish, covered in a cornmeal batter, was a bit thin, but still tasty with tartar sauce. The guy working behind the counter was really nice, too. The place is a little run down, but I thought it added to its charm. It’s a little pricy, so use their coupons and take advantage of the white board specials!

Out of all of the franchise fast food chains, none can boast its sea food like Skippers why? Because there are no other skippers in Oregon anymore as the business has been severely reduced to only a handful of locations in the west. Prices have always been decent here and surprisingly amongst the fried fast food seafood world, edible food that could resemble Red Lobster’s fried shrimp when presented on a fancy plate. The place itself is old and in need of remodeling, but many old fast food joints need some touch up here and there. Best recommended for a visit before this place is gone as well.
