Haven’t eaten here in years, back in the day(25yrs.ago) this was Salinas diamond bagel joint. Not sure how many times this place has changed hands, but it has. There’s little reminders of the original, the faded knotty pine siding and old case, now covered in pictured signs of boba drinks and breakfast bagels and such. It’s a bit of helter skelter, some of this and a little of that. I get it, small family businesses need to get by how ever they can. But it’s a bit convoluted here. So how’s the food? Simple bagel sandwiches, same as any other sandwich shop. Throw some cold cuts, sprouts and squeeze a little mustard on a bagel… you get the picture. If you’re hungry, good. If you’re looking for that epic sandwich… not so much. Last words… there’s better in town.

I am regular customer of this cute store since 2013. The first thing I got back to Salinas is their freshly baked bagels and thai iced tea pearl. Easy to take out and fresh ingredients. Do not forget to try the famous Ham Club bagel — it’s so tasty!

Worst bagel place in Salinas. I just posted a photo of hair found in my friends bagel. And it’s not just a little bit of hair it’s A LOT of hair. Absolutely disgusting & disappointing. Ever since new ownership took this place over, the quality has hit rock bottom. Do yourself a favor and skip this place.

Staff is friendly. Bagels are good. Blueberry my new favorite. They put too much cream cheese so you can ask for easy on cream cheese. Be careful not to say light because they have light cream cheese. I’m a regular here.

I’m so… so disappointed with how this place has gone down hill. I remember when they used to have amazing bagels and killer turkey wraps. Now it seems like they’re trying to cut corners with using day old bagels, skimping on the actual cheese and turkey for the wraps… and price gouging the customers. The place itself needs a massive overhaul because it looks dirty and gross, which makes me question it’s sanitary conditions in the kitchen. Again, very sad that its taken such a dive.

Went here for an onion bagel. Was very disappointed! The bagel itself was ok except for the vital part, onion! Didn’t even taste like onion and no onion breath. It was also dirty around the coffee area(they weren’t busy and def had time to clean, saw 4 people working). As for the customer service it was lacking. The lady wasn’t very friendly and just wanted to get back to watching the news. Then while I was there a lady came in and returned some cream cheese she had bought the day before because it was bad. Disgusting! They are selling old food!!! I will never go back here!

I hate giving a 2 star review, but this bagel was especially bad compared to my memories of bagels from this place… long ago. It was really a debate between 1 — 2 stars and I settled with 2 because the bagel did not make me sick and there was not mold on it. However, it did taste like it was a day old and there was not much cream cheese applied on it. I am bummed that this bagel does not have the same quality I remember it having.

Good, authentic, high-quality bagels. A good bagel should be crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Not that floppy, soft, bready garbage you get at Noah’s Bagels. The inside of this shop may not be all«done up» and fancy, but they serve great old-fashioned bagels at reasonable prices.

It’s too bad this place isn’t run better. I live a mere half-mile away but don’t go near it anymore. There are at least seven Bagel Bakery stores in the Monterey County area.(I’ve been to all of them.) The store on Alisal and Palma, for which I’m posting a review, ties for last place. I’ve probably visited the store about 10 times in the past six months. It’s not kept up very well: That is, the tables could all use a scrubbing, the coffee area is often neglected and one just gets the impression that things aren’t very tidy where the bagel prep is being done. The bagels taste good, I’ll give them that. But the service is anything but friendly. My advice: Try the Bagel Corner(S. Main St. and Park Row) five minutes away or drive 10 more minutes and visit the best-run Bagel Bakery in Monterey County: the one in Northridge Mall.
