This was my first time at this place and it was actually pretty good. I got the super burrito which was very tasty, at times I would bite into really salty areas of the meat but other than that it was good and the service was great. We got there around 11 and as soon as 12 came it started getting really busy. Seating is very limited so you’ll have to get there early for lunch.

Just the bomb!!! Two days in a row for me. I get the egg & chorizo burrito, add bacon, extra hot!

My husband loves the menudo here. I personally enjoy eating the chilaquiles. Great service and great food, what more can you ask for!?! I can’t vouch for the entire menu(since I obviously have not had everything) but I have no doubt that it is as good as the dishes I have tried! Will be back soon for more delicious food!

I’ve only ate here once, but I will definitely be going again. The salsa was soooooo good, i could eat it all by itself. I was surprised by the variety of Mexican food served, I incorrectly thought Burritos and not much else. :-)

Burrito King?!? More like burrito peasant. Ordered a regular burrito con carne asada…(Which includes refried beans, rice, and salsa.) Very disappointed. The meat was chewy and bland. The beans and rice were well below average. The size of the burrito was decent, but I’ve gotten more food and paid less at other spots. Just a big let down. And don’t tell me I went at the wrong time. This was during peak hours on a Friday afternoon. And the cooks weren’t busy, there was one dude in the whole place. I dunno… I guess when you coin yourself the«Burrito King» customers expect your food to live up to its name. I had high hopes, but they came crashing down in a little under 5 bites. This King needs to be dethroned. I will not bow down.

My wife, daughter, & I stopped here after a visit to the Steinbeck center. The gordita was very good and filling, I had their special chicken taquitos with rice and beans which were outstanding! And my daughter loved the bean and cheese burrito! Who were all extremely authentic Mexican food.

I got married on Aug 29th2015, I asked him to serve food on my special day and I thought it was a good idea but i guess NOT, the food was tri tip steak, grill chicken, salad, beans, rice and chips everything for $ 10 the plate HESAIDSO. If he charges you more don’t deal with him my deal was for 150 ppl and he said that he served 30 more I didn’t even know if that was true or not so he was trying to charge me more than u think !!! be careful! !!! He started asking me for the money and I told him its not fear because I paid him for 150 ppl not 180. I still have the msg that he sent me all angry because he did a «good job» with the food. Anyways before you going to this place think about it more then twice. Thanks have a nice day

This restaurant is a hidden gem! The food is always hot, fresh and flavorful. I’ve yet to try something new that I did not like. This place by far serves the best molcajete in town. Staff is very friendly, as well. Two thumbs up!

Jose is excellent, every time I come and always get the same thing from the menu but somehow he makes it little different each time. A small place full of flavor!!!

I ordered a burrito and a side of Nachos. First off, the Nacho cheese was white and did not harden, it stayed in liquid form even when cold. Not a good sign of Nacho cheese. The chips were instantly soggy within seconds of eating it. I threw most of that away. The burrito was not necessarily terrible, but it gave me the worst feeling of depression ever. Not stomach pain, I felt like my soul died. It took several hours of self-help tapes and lots of water to detox from that large glob of beans, meat, and tortilla. The employees were nice people, but I will never eat here again.

A very small place with Big Flavor. It is a good place to get a quick home meal for cheap. Jose is excellent and the food he prepares is delicious. I won’t say it’s authentic or label the food in this place but I recommend to try it if you are ever in Old Town Salinas. If you have an event they do an excellent job at catering events. The food is always delicious.(warning I myself like hot salsa but this one is flavorful but HOT — that’s just me). Again I recommend Burrito King. Try it. You might like it.

This place is definitely the King of breakfast burritos! Everything is delicious and made to order. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. Try the salsa! They make it in house and it is killer!

I stopped by for my first time. I am a Mexican food connoisseur of sorts so I am always intrigued to try new foods and see where the food progression is headed. This place seems like a nice spot to get some belly food meaning some grub to fill the gut. I ordered their chicken super burrito and it sure was SUPER. Man this was like enough food for 2 people. The price was good in relation to the portion size. The only issues I had was the greasiness. I’m not sure if I should expect the food to be dripping just because it’s from an alley-way food joint. I’d like to believe that they should not be totally related since I’ve had great food at similar or sketchier locations. Overall, if you want to fill your gut. Feel free to share a super burrito with a friend from this place.

Love this place, if you are near u should try this place. The Molcajete king is the best and enough for two maybe three. It is really inexpensive and their tortillas are freshly made. their horchata is really good, not overly sweetened either.

I love the burrito king! If you call in an order just tell the nice man what you’re craving! He’ll make recommendations or build you a burrito with whatever you want. PLUS! They sell ganzitos!!! LOL

What was worse than their breakfast burrito? Their huevos rancheros. That and we waited almost half an hour for our food and the place located in a side alley has 0 ambiance and not great prices.

Love this place! Tiny hole in the wall with awesome Mexican food. Softest tortilla I’ve had on a burrito ever. It was like silk. I’m also addicted to the huevos rancheros which comes with a side of french fries smothered in ranchero sauce, really tasty re-fried beans(pretty sure there’s lard in there), and rice. The dish also comes with freshly made tortillas(no kidding!). Next on my list to try would be the gigantic mocajete filled with grilled meaty goodness and nopales. They also have bacon wrapped giant shrimp. Service is hit or miss. I came here on a weekday once, and it was a one man show. I didn’t mind though because I was just there for the food, which didn’t disappoint.
