Pozole, Albondiga Soup, Guacamole, Salsas, Mini Chicken Flautas. WOW. Just WOW.

This was one of my bookmark places to eat. The service was fast and polite. The server even came over to our table with pitchers in his hands for free refills for our drinks(water & iced tea). First time there, we’ll be going back again.

I flipp’n love this place! In the mornings when I’m hung over or just wanting some good Mexican food, I’m like,” Hey, let’s order Mama Lupitas!” Yep! Simple as that! Enough said. This is the place.

The food is good! My favorite breakfast is the huevos rancheros, I love their homemade corn tortillas and for those cold days I recommend their caldo de res!

Very good for lunch — reasonable prices, quick service, & perfect size combo meals with two items, cup of soup, rice & beans. Authentic food when you just want a basic plate of tasty goodness and have many nearby choices — this one holds it’s own. Small seating area and you can check out the cooler next to the cash register where they store some of the cold food items so you know its stored properly. Have eaten here many times — including this past week –and never had a bad meal. The chips are a bit thick for my liking but that simply keep me from filling up on them before I dive into the food.

We eat here at least once a week. Their corn tortillas are homemade and sopas are my favorite item on menu.

Good Mexican food and good service depending who’s working… lol Overall, a good full service Mexican Restaurant is Salinas. My only real suggestion is to make the salsa less hot. I love hot and spicy food, but most of my friends all say its too hot to enjoy – I’d tone it down a little.

Travelling thru Salinas. Unilocaled nearby Mex food. Found Mama Lipitas. Wanted light lunch. Ordered«small» beef soup. Came with chips, salsa, small plate of delicious rice and beans, big bowl of soup with half an ear of corn, huge chunks of carrot, squash, patato, choyote and beef. Great soup. Left stuffed, and only $ 8 for the meal plus a generous tip. Clean authentic Mexican restaurant.

This place is great. Their al pastor game is solid. The salsa and chips are on point. Before your meal you also get some caldo and it is real firme. The carne asada has some good flavor. Awesome Mexican food.

Best place for homemade jamaica, tamarindo, or orchata drinks. Good soups: caldo de res or albondigas or chicken w vegs. Place is small but staff is friendly. Owner/cook on premises makes home made warm corn tortillas for your soup.

I finally found a chili Relleno to Unilocal about O M G I just wish it was closer to my home so I could be a regular. t The tortillas are homemade as well as everything on the menu nothing here comes out of a can. Now I wish I could have a siesta. but gotta hit the road.

Service was quick and good. I ordered the #15 chile relano and chicken enchilada. Was good but I’ve had the same quality many times over. I consider Mama’s a cookie cutter Mexican Restaurant serving the same style and quality as most others. Nothing special or unique here, same old same.

A tiny, unassuming place with excellent, handmade food. The best corn tortillas I have had(hecho a mano) since the Mercado Libertad in Guadalajara back in the day. Duh, the abuela/chef in residence is from Guadalajara. Fresh pasillas for the rellenos, etc. Even better: the service. Again, a little, unassuming place, but… I formed the thought of what I wanted, glanced at the waitress, who read my mind and was right there. I own a restaurant, and I would be thrilled beyond belief if my crew were that attentive. A great day off lunch.

Fast service, clean and friendly! Oh, and the food is authentic. This is my definition of comfort food, Mama Lupita’s. I love that the establishment is all family owned and operated. The portions are more than filling, and the food is delicious. In a convenient part of the town, with fast service, and an option for take out, this place is a true gem.

The first time I went to Mama Lupita’s was when I was interviewing for a job. It is so good! I love their tacos and burritos. Their salsa is delicious and as well as their soup. The family is wonderful and creates a positive atomsphere. I hope, that if I am down that way again, I will stop in for sure!

I live for this place! Whenever someone asks for a recommendation for Mexican food, this is the place to go! It’s family run, the food is always yummy, and the service is excellent. The prices are outstanding, as well. My favorite thing to get is the chicken sope or a shrimp tostada. They have 3 delicious salsas — a mild green tomatillo, a medium roasted tomato, and a spicy pick de gallo type. I’d recommend asking for the trio of salsas when they bring you the chips and salsa.

I ate here on a recommendation. The waitress was nice. The free soup was delicious. But then came the fajitas to kill it all. Overcooked meats and bland as can be. Worst fajitas I’ve ever had. I don’t know if that was jamaica in my glass or 12 ounces of corn syrup.

Yummy messy goodness. Sauce everywhere but so worth it. The huevos rancheros was so good with homemade corn tortillas, and it’s only 5.50 for it

Living in Salinas I can choose from at least a dozen Mexican eating places within walking distance from my house. I will choose Mama Lupita’s 2 to 1 over the rest, not for anything special but because there unpretentious. Just good simple home style food. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff is helpful. This is always my safe bet, never had a bad meal here. Portions are good and the prices are more than fair. No strolling mariachi here, just a good meal.
