I gotta tell you, the patty melt was a revelation! I mean it was very good. These guys do a nice job.

Just wrapped up a great lunch here. Fabulous service and the food was good. We had six in our group. We were seated immediately and had every need met by our server Aja! I had the bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. It rocked! Especially after I added fresh avocado. Any establishment offering Guiness Beer on tap gets extra credit! Cool place– lots of tv’s and good music. 5 star all day-everyday!

The best grilled cheese in town, plus bacon wrapped hot dogs! Wow! Bartender Richard is first class! Neighborhood bar where you know everybody!

Don’t overlook this spot for an affordable meal! They have items like Mac n Cheese, Chicago Hot Dogs, Grilled Cheese. I had a very good Fish and Chips the other day! The service is down-to-earth friendly, drinks are stiff and tasty, place is clean! I wish they’d add smaller tables in front because it’s awkward when a party of two takes a six-top and you have to ask to join because there are no other seats available. Fun brunch spot on game days. No online menu so from memory: apple pancakes, Mexican-style breakfasts, steak and eggs… Omelettes start at $ 9.

This is a town bar. Nothing crazy nothing gimmicky just booze and food. Overwhelmingly, the background chatter consists of town gossip and laughter, and the bartender(Richard) plays his role in supplying liquid inhibition and a few quick lines that keeps everybody talking. He also greets strangers with a firm handshake and a «cheers, my friend!» as he sets down your drink. Even though there may not be many people here on a Friday afternoon, this place is alive and I was happy to happen upon this place as I felt the need for a bit more alcohol and food before returning to marina. I got the Chicago dog and it did not disappoint. Give it a shot

I love Dubbers. It is a great place to watch sports or b.s. w friends. Servers are all awesome too(maybe the folks from Salinas Sports Pub should come check out how real severs and bartenders work!). Dubbers is a fantastic old town pub with fantastic ‘pub-grub,’ they must have the best onion rings in town and the Chicago dog is pretty damn good too!

We looked at the Unilocal reviews and decided to give this place a try. The bartender was very attentive and gave excellent service. Hubby ordered the pastrami Reuben and I opted for a cup of chili and a Chicago dog with fries. The bartender was nice enough to let me know that their fries are served with a garlic butter on then and we decided to go ahead and give them a try. Margarita with Patron was $ 10 and a 22 ounce draft beer was eight dollars. The chili came out of the kitchen first and I could tell by looking at it that it was just a cold glop scooped into the bowl. Taking a bite it was indeed ice cold. I sent it back to the kitchen and in about 10 minutes it came back steaming hot with the cheese melted on top. It was very flavorful and spicy but also very salty. I like the addition of carrots to the chili. Next our sandwiches were served, my husband had asked for an extra side of Russian dressing but instead they put it on the sandwich so the sandwich was dripping in dressing but was very tasty and hot. My Chicago dog arrived with all the usual Chicago dog extras lots of relish onions hot peppers Dillpickle but no mustard at all. The hotdog itself had been grilled and so had The bun but just my luck both were freezing cold. The french fries were hot and very tasty with the garlic butter poured over them. I hung my head when the bartender asked how it was and said I’m so sorry but this is cold and I can’t eat it. She was nice enough to take it off of our bill. She explained that she discussed it with the manager and they thought that the grill had not warmed up enough in order to thoroughly heat the pre-cooked hotdogs. Pre Cooked and it took over twenty minutes to get our food in a not busy restaurant? Not a very well managed kitchen. Lunch for two with two margaritas and 2 – 22 ounce beers minus the Chicago dog plus the tip was $ 69. Pretty pricey considering that we just had a couple drinks and one sandwich and a cup of chili. Another note is someone in the restaurant likes to keep the front door open and it was also freezing in the restaurant, my husband finally got up and closed the door and the bartender told us that it’s always freezing cold in there and even though she keeps shutting the door someone insists on opening it again. The best part of the experience was meeting the lovely Bartender but I don’t think I will be going back anytime soon. Afters sending back both of my dishes I expected that the manager would have come over and talk to us himself personally. If he had made the effort I would probably have written a different kind of review and would have made a point of going back and giving it another try. Heads up it’s all about customer service. ii

Is my third time at Dubber’s and the food is significantly better than it was the last two times. The drinks are always great. The atmosphere is great. The service is excellent. Its the kind of hangout Oldtown Salinas needs.

Inconsistent and poor service. Last time I checked last call was at 2am not 12am. Apparently only the owner is entitled to alcohol after the last call(approx 1 am). Please consider local laws and patronage when performing such actions.

The serrano burger is delish. The calimari was soggi and the chili tasted like it was born out of a can but the fries were bomb. On the plus side, they have lagunitas on tap in a tall size!

First started off with the special Jalapeño poppers. Nice cream cheese and bacon. Nice kick but not a beat down. Finished with grilled cheese and some bacon! The menu is tasty and well thought out. I was torn between drinking and eating. The owner, Justin, is down to earth and friendly. I will definitely be back. Worth the stop. Btw, the pix are some of the owners and his family. Cool !!!

Good enough! Service was fast and friendly, the place was clean and all the T.V.‘s were working(sports bar). The burgers were made to order and presented well with a lot of tasty fry’s. The fish and chips were typical sports bar fair with decent slaw. So does Salinas need another sports bar? Yeah, sure. Dubbers is a bit small and can get crowed but still my go to. Last words… go A’s.

Awesome grilled cheese sammich. It had thick cut bacon, sliced tomato, avacado, cheddar and jack. Super yummy. I also got the coleslaw as a side and it was great ! My husband got the bacon cheeseburger with fries and he loved it. Service was great. Drinks were made perfectly. I had a vodka club soda and husband had a jack and coke. We will definitely be back. Atmosphere was very chill and we like the chillness! Go check it out ! — Chef Candace

In town for just one night and came here based on the Unilocal reviews. Found it to be about what others had posted and scored. I sat at the bar and the bartender was cool and attentive. Was not super busy since it is a Monday night. I had a couple 805s(my favorite beer) and the Fish & Chips. The beer was fresh since it’s from just down the 101 highway, but the food was so so. The bar itself was clean and the downtown area was quaint. I only saw street parking which was not crowded. Not sure if it had its own parking area. All in all I got what I expected so I guess that’s not a bad thing. Come on down if you’re in the area.

Very friendly staff. The bartender is always engaging. But of course, I am a big tipper, so I guess by now he knows me. They have great burgers.

Bar keep was friendly and attentive. Hubby got the burger and LOVED the onion rings. I got the Mac n’ cheese, which was creamier than what I’m used to. It’s likely the pasta was pre-cooked and rinsed to warm up.(Lots of kitchens do this, which is too bad if care is not taken to rinse the pasta well.) The ambiance is not overly sporty for non-sporty people like me. It’s great that the movie house and the Steinbeck Center are both walking distance. What a great mainstream(not so local-ly) place for non-locals to feel local at.

I was, at first, reluctant to come here for dinner. I’m usually not a sports bar fan– given the obvious, that I’m not a sports fan. However, hubs and I ventured in for a bite to eat. I ordered the Philly Cheese steak sandwich with garlic friends. Hubs got a cheeseburger with regular fries. We ordered two 831 beers on tap, which was a pleasant surprise. Our waitress was friendly and prompt. The place is LOUD! We were older than dirt, compared to the young crowd. They all seemed to be having fun, loud laughter and watching the Giants. Our food was surprisingly good! My cheese steak was really delicious. The meat wasn’t tough, as I feared it might be. The garlic fries were good, but so plentiful that I took the rest home for my husband. Overall, we both said we’d come here again. It’s simple bar fare, but that’s what we expected.

Nice place to catch a drink while the game is on. I had the tempura green beans and was pretty impressed. Service was friendly but a little slow. Not bad for a busy night. I would go back for those green beans.

Close to a 4 but not close enough. Service was outstanding food was ok. Wife had grilled cheese I had the calamari and Mac and cheese calamari came out burnt sent it back and they cooked it perfectly tasted much better Mac and cheese was pretty bland but also creamy and good not great. Maybe add jalapeño? Wife’s grilled cheese was just that but her fries were fantastic. Beers on tap 90% IPA but that’s what’s popular now. I like a darker beer

Dubber’s is just GREAT! I love the atmosphere and the bartenders really know how to treat their guests. Every time I walk into the bar and take a seat someone is always there to either take my order or pour me a drink. They have a very friendly staff including the one server Mel. She is awesome! Always with a smile, and she always seems to know exactly what she is doing. When you have a great staff, an amazing variety in drinks, and awesome food; THEBUSINESSWILLDOGREAT!
