So I was visiting Salinas with a buddy recently and we were looking for a lunch spot. Neither one of us knowing Salinas very well thought let’s check out Unilocal.I saw Reds nearby and remembered seeing it in the Coast weekly best of and thought let’s go there. We walked in and we’re underwhelmed by the service and slightly overwhelmed by the menu. Kept asking what they recommended and he said everything’s good. So I said screw it and ordered and waited very shortly with my food they were lightning quick. Once he dropped our food off at the table me and my buddy looked at eachother impressed.
We both got Burgers and Fries since we didn’t know what to order and thought they were two of the best on the peninsula. They were so big we could not finish our meals and neither one of us are small eaters. If you want a decadent Diner style meal I could not recommend this more.

I went to Red’s for the first time in the 40+ years I’ve lived in Salinas, and I can say it was worth it! I took my family that were visiting from out of town and we had a delicious meal of burgers, drinks, and fries. I ordered the bleu burger which was yummy, but the parmesan garlic fries were a big disappointment. I couldn’t taste the garlic at all and the pile of dry parmesan dumped on reg fries was not tasty or impressive.

Stopped at Red’s on my way to San Luis Obispo after reading Unilocal reviews. I had the Pastrami Burger with half onion rings & fries. Amazing! Burger was really tasty and loaded with Pastrami! The Pastrami was so good, next time I may skip the burger & just do a Pastrami sandwich. Fries were ok, nothing special, but the onion rings were the bomb! Will definitely get them again. Think this will become my go to spot to stop. I would give it 5 stars, but I took my burger to go since the traffic had me behind schedule, the burger wasn’t wrapped in anything. Good thing the Fries had paper on the bottom I could use, otherwise I’d be wearing the thing.

I just came across this place by accident but i am so happy i did. The chocolate shakes are wonderful. The philly cheese steak is extrememly juicy and tasty. The. prices were all reasonable with big portions. I will be back to try more items on the menu.

Best Pastrami EVER! The service is 5 – 5 and fast. The ppl that run the joint are always very nice and great with the suggestions. Hands down best burger joint In Monterey County

Love this place! My husband gets the bacon burger ad I get Frank’s Hot & Spicy… they never fail us. Yummy food nice small place. Very clean. When my husband and I first started coming here some of the employees were a bit rude, we came again a few weeks later and found out that one of my husbands friends works here. Have been treated great ever since. And now they have new employees who seem happier to be serving.

Just ordered a mushroom Swiss burger to go with no mayo and specifically asked if it came with the works lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles and said ok that’s great. My hubby ordered a bacon cheeseburger no tomato and we get home and my burger is half the size of his and I have no tomatoes or pickles on my burger. It’s simple stuff like this that is frustrating … And you can’t call them to let them know because it’s just an answering machine !!!

They say they aren’t a fast food place but it sure tastes like it to me. Overpriced frozen food! How does a diner/​milkshake place runout of milkshakes? Well, they did. Their service also needs improvement. We won’t be back anytime soon…

This joint has pizzazz. The food is hot, fresh, decently portioned, not an obesr-​maker. The sides are slightly inspired. The staff kind. the speed not super but worth it. Tiny bit overpriced great for elderly or kids who are jaded on the burger concept. The parking good. location, easy. Friendship tables.

The owner is very rude and not kid friendly. She rudely told my two year old daughter to get off her counter very blunt and with a cold stare. I felt it could of been handled more pleasantly. I will be telling all my friends and associates not to come here.

Decided to try this burger joint after reading so many positive reviews. Place was great and staff was friendly. Unfortunately, I got food poisoning after eating at this place. Won’t be coming back.

The cute little burger joint I’ve been looking for since I’ve moved to Cali from Texas! We got the bacon cheeseburger, BEST BACON EVER. We also got the chili cheese fries and carne asada fries, SO GOOD! This place is a MUST TRY!

Really good Frank’s red hot chicken burger and fries! I can’t stand guy hat took our order though. dude was fucking rude! I simply asked what do you have to drink, when he asked what I wanted? He didn’t say shit. Just pointed behind him like I knew what they fucking had. He seems like he had a stick up his ass!

So I’ve been eating at this joint for years and still have mixed feelings about the service.
For beginners, staff is rude and condescending. A part of me feels like it comes from the restaurant owner and trickles down to the staff. Whenever I try to be polite and engage in small talk, the staff turns cold and callous so it really makes it difficult to be a faithful customer.
In terms of the menu selection, no complaints here other than the prices of their menu items could go down a $ 1.00 to $ 1.50 since most of the food is frozen. If these were gourmet burgers or grass fed burgers I would agree with the prices but their frozen patties are over priced. The toppings on the other hand are fresh and generous, so that makes up for the price somewhat.
The restaurant is always cold, and based on some of the over priced items this makes me think that they are trying to save every last penny. I can’t help but get cold feet and a cold butt from sitting on their leather seats.
Overall a good place to eat, just don’t expect a friendly owner or staff.

Went at lunch time. The food came faster than expected. Which the taste and flavor wasn’t compromised. I would definitely go back for lunch.
I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak, it was so good? I could’ve eaten two. I also ordered 6 hot wings. They were meaty and not to fatty.
Red’s is becoming one of my favorite places to go.
The staff is friendly and very helpful, which makes coming back that much easier and more welcoming.

Always get excellent service from the guys along with fresh burgers and fries makes this one of my favorite places to grab lunch in the area. Presentation and tasty food with a clean place to sit relax and watch some tv is always good when you’re having a crazy day at work. They also cater which would be a great option when you’re having a work meeting. The place was Campus drive in before and the food was just as good. They had 3 locations at one point through out the valley. It was my favorite place as a kid to grab a burger or hot dog. I like the fact that they have a variety of other options such as fried burritos, mozzarella sticks, onion rings to name a few (not very healthy though). My usual is the double bacon cheeseburger that just melts in my mouth and a side of fries. These are by far best tasting burgers in town other than maybe In N Out.
