Read great reviews and looking forward to this place. Ordered fish tacos. Burned to a crisp and no flavor. Will not be back.

I love this place and have been going for years. The best deal ever is the three tostadas shrimp crevice and Pulpo. Unfortunately they stop serving the pulpal recently. But the shrimp and ceviche is still an excellent value and delicious. What are their best value menu items if they have the chicken with a large rice and beans for about $ 13. This can easily serve 3 to 4 people as a take-out meal at home. Get a side salad to go with it. There to taquerias with guacamole sauce are very very good too. Their Fish taco ordered all the cart at 299 each is a large serving of crusty crunchy fish on a tortilla with toppings and is absolutely to die for.

I dig this place! I have only gotten their taco salads. I try to be good and get it without he tostada shell, it’s amazing with or without the shell. I like their salsas. I definitely don’t recommend the chile relleno. I didn’t like the breading or the«sauce». Mainly it was just covered with over cooked/microwaved cheddar cheese. :/ I wouldn’t give a Michelin star, but they are worth lunch for sure. Thumbs up.

Delicious breakfast! Huge portions! We had an egg and sausage plate. It was huge. The breakfast potatoes were smothered with cheese and the hit for us all. We also had a breakfast burrito that was huge and very satisfying. Coffee hit the spot!

Not the best burritos nor the best tri tip. But the quesadillas are okay. The burritos are too wet and the meat isn’t grilled.

This place used to rock the bird, the white meat… chicken! Super pollo no mas. Back in the day this local was the step sister to the one on Davis near Kmart. That one is Super Pollo. This one in South Salinas is for all the Toro Park /River rd. crowd that are to tired to drive another mile to real good Mexican grub. The portions are good size, I’m mentioning this because the prices are high. That means you get to much so so Mexican food that your not going to eat. The only item we buy here is the wet chicken burrito at $ 7.50 it’s a decent meal, just opp for the whole beans. This same burrito a few years back was $ 4.50…dang. Interior is strip mall…70’s strip mall! To go is my option. People! Remember this Salinas, taquerias are plentiful. Last word… Unilocal

We visited this taqueria for the first time this week and had a good experience. Ordered food to go and the woman who helped us over the phone spoke clearly and was very polite. Upon arriving the atmosphere was casual and friendly but nothing to write home about. Our food was ready on time and I was able to select my own salsa from the salsa bar. The green salsa was a little disappointing but the two red salsas had good flavor and consistency. When we got home and tried the food it was exactly what we ordered! The carne asada was flavorful and not too greasy. They grill the burrito once it’s made which also gave it good flavor. There were a few chunks of fatty meat that wasn’t edible but all in all the burrito was very good. They charge for chips but the total for two super burritos and chips was $ 17 so in line with other restaurants.

Had the breakfast and California burritos – they were soooo bomb. Really like the mom and pop ambiance too, you know the food is authentic and quality is remarkable. What makes this place fantastic is its service. I spilled my horchata onto the ground and table and the female owner, despite my efforts to do so, cleaned it up. I offered to buy a new refill too, but adamantly gave me a new refill for free because she understood it was an accident. You don’t get that sympathy from most businesses today, where the profit motive supersedes being compassionate for others.

Lengua is my go to meat for tacos. I’ve had it diced, shredded, boiled, slow cooked, in burritos and on tostados. Hands down best I’ve had is here. After its slow cooked, they sauté it. Adding some draining and some crispy texture and slight char flavor takes it to the next level. Awesome.

I’ve been coming here for literally off and on over 10 years for their authentic enchilada special every Wednesday. Owner is very friendly as well as the cook. Another great choice is their shrimp to stay a that they garnish with avocado for only $ 4.99 and it is very generous with both the shrimp and avocado!

Hand there new California burrito which has French fries in it, had this before in other places but what I don’t like about other places is they usually stuff too much fries and not enough meat. Here they do it right just a little bit of french fries… guacamole and great meat flavor. Like everyone here has posted good lord it was huge!!! Can feed to people easy.

Sometimes too much is too much. This was for my experience today rating their burrito salad and soda combo. Item was 7.99 I believe. Burrito was good however I didn’t realize it was going to be plain asada and rice. I asked for no beans. This sucks as the typical burrito has more ingredients I. e their California burrito. The salad was huge however it did not go with 1000 island. If it’s proportions your looking for this place is it. Place was booming with customers so I’m guessing the other plates are good. I will give them more tries in the future

Food wasn’t the best ever but for price, 5 stars. No free chips but the salsas are fresh and not watered down which I liked. Service was fast, plenty of seating at this place which is a plus. I had the breakfast sausage and egg burrito which was huge and tasty as the rest, but the salsa complimented the meal for a 5 star review ;)

This place is great. The breakfast burritos are amazing and the staff is as well. We took our special needs class there for a field trip and it was a lot of fun no to mention the good food!

This place has the best rice on the planet! My favorite thing to get is a burrito with rice, beans, and mild salsa. I also get a mountain dew with the food and a nice refreshing horchata for dessert. The staff is very kind and never messes up your order. This place is a must if youre in Salinas.

I like the burrito and salad combo. Had the fish burrito and a veggie. Still need to try the chicken burrito. They need to work on better salsa though. I’d rather use ketchup

Saw this yesterday on the way to what was supposed to be Campus Drive Inn but turned out to be Red’s. I had had enough Mexican food in Blythe to last me a year, but said what the heck. A few tables left at 12:40. I got just a carne asada taco and chips and salsa(you choose your own from the salsa station, which also has cilantro and lemon wedges) Good taco, but they put so much stuff that most fell out after one bite. I had to get a fork to finish 2/3rds of it. Chips were good, not oily at all, but as usual they gave me enough for 4 people. I liked the red salsa but wasn’t crazy about the green. Very friendly service and nice clean place. I would have preferred to eat my taco without a fork, but no big deal(I wonder if they loaded it so heavily since that was the only thing I ordered besides the chips???). I’d go back.

Ordered their special of the day-Half a roast chicken with rice, pinto beans, and tortilla + soda for about $ 8 The chicken was moist and flavorful with a great mesquite flavor. Rice and pinto beans were on the bland side but really filled me up. Tortilla was fresh and hot. Add on some freshly made salsa and the dish really came together. Overall Thoughts Delicious food at a reasonable price
