Ok… I’ve ate here 3x in the last couple of weeks just because I live close by and I wanted to be sure I wasn’t missing out, sad to say I’m not :-( On the positive side, the wait staff is super friendly and attentive. On the not so good side, the great fresh flavors of Jaliscan style Mexican food are missing here. The food is mostly bland. The pico de gallo, salsa, chips, chicken and tortillas all need help ! They are definitely cooking for customers of South Salinas and Highway 68 crowd that are not accustomed to the flavors of authentic Mexican food…

Grilled Shrimp tacos? Yes please! Chunky shrimp are grilled to perfection and topped with cabbage slaw and a generous wedge of avocado and green salsa. Perfectly pair them with a nice cold Horchata on a hot day. Great service & fantastic salsa! The only downfall was my dirty fork, but luckily i did not need it :)

Any time me or my family are in this area of Salinas, we always stop at this place for a bite to eat. It’s amazing! I usually get the Carnitas Tacos and my husband ALWAYS gets the Toastada Mixta(sp) and they’re always both so delicious! Not to mention the Flan! This is the only place I will eat the Flan, as I can’t find anywhere that prepares it just as good or better than this place. The environment is relaxing and they’ve always got a soccer game on which we love. It’s in a convenient location and the server is always on point and remembers us every time we go, asks us about our daughter if she’s not with us, etc etc. I love this place and recommend it.

Excellent Mexican food for an area loaded with taquerias! Definitely in the top tier for Salinas. The ladies are always great, service is quick and the price is perfect. Tortillas are homemade and the meats are beautifully slow cooked.

A great place for a to go order, a quick something to eat, or if you come with a group. It’s all accommodating and very spacious. The staff is prompt and is attentive and is friendly. No matter what I have, there hasn’t been a bad experience. The food not only tasty, it has spice and depth of flavor. It is not too loud, open air seating and huge beautiful windows. You can feel and see it’s a family atmosphere, which is inviting and calming.

Food is mediocre, flavorless, and very Americanized. I’d hardly call it Mexican food.

This is a great place to grab a quick bite to eat! Looks like there are a lot of regulars that go there(like my parents). The place overall is super casual. You walk in and seat yourself, or you can order at the counter to go. They bring out fresh chips and salsa to start– they are light and crispy. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas with red sauce and no sour cream. It was super filling and really tasty-lots of shrimp! My boyfriend got the fish tacos(fried) and the fish itself was really tasty, flaky and fresh! It came with two tacos which each had one HUGE piece of fish inside. For 4 meals, 2 sodas and a beer, the bill was only $ 61. Not bad at all! Most meals were about $ 10 – 15 dollars depending on what it was. They had a big list of seafood options, all priced really well. Parking is a breeze. It’s located right next door to Nob Hill.

I have always liked Guadalajara Grill for their fish tacos and service. I love them for a whole new reason, their fish soup is so good and big enough for two meals. yummo!!!

A taqueria in Salinas… you have’ta try harder. These guys just exist. Just basic Mexican chow, nothing to talk about here. Seems like canned salsas with chips from a bag, tortillas are nothing special. Noticing all that make me question the rest of food and how much is really made in-house. The entrees we had were OK, my wife’s shrimp burrito was nicely packed. My chili relleno burrito was… edible. This place will exist being in south Salinas for a couple of reasons. One being that the the folks on this side of town are lazy and won’t venture into north or east Salinas or there afraid to drive those parts of town. At least a half dozen better choices within a mile. Last words… choose wisely.

Definitely Mexicali and I like that because sometimes Mexican food is a little too authentic for me, although they do have authentic that my Mexican friends seem to always enjoy. The meat is lean and tasty, the salsas are excellent, and the rest of the food is always fresh. The tomatillo is great — doesn’t take the top layer of my tongue off. The service is really good too — I’ve eaten here at least once a month for about the last five years. I’m writing a review now because I took some friends/family there and realized afterward that I never even considered the meal would be anything but good. A very solid 4 stars(I save 5 for the super extraordinary so this is a great review).

I can’t believe I had never been to this place. I just started going about a year ago when a friend took me for the first time. I love their burritos and fast service. I have had their fish tacos as well which get a thumbs up. They have really good chips and salsa if you are dining in. I like getting takeout but dining in for lunch break is a quick in and out visit. Service is friendly. Easy parking.

When craving great Mexican Food, this is one of my top 2 list restaurant. Never a wait always enough seats. The waitress are very nice and attentive the food is amazing and the taste are favor just enough spice and not to salty like some Mexican places. I height recommend the wet burrito with your favor sauce red or green sauce. The chalaza are great here too! They add veggies and small amount of spice to a Mexican beers with tomato and in a nice chilled mug!

Guadalajara grill is a great little store front restaurant in south Salinas. Very authentic Mexican food and quick service. Nothing fancy, just an open dining area with wood tables/chairs and plastic red and white table clothes. Reminds me a lot of a place you might wander into in a tourist town in Mexico. Lunch is good, breakfast is great. Lots of locals pick up their dinner to go.
