To call this place trash is an understatement. I was the only customer waiting for my order and it took them almost 20 minutes to get it completed. The food is extremely seasoned and you might even feel a bit sick afterwards. My guess is that most of the good reviews for this place are coming from the business owner’s relatives. Definitely not a place to go to.

We were tired and hungry and needed something walking distance from the hotel. This had mixed reviews but took a chance. We both had tacos, beef and fish, they were tasty. Definitely a place that locals come to. Service was quick and friendly, beer was cold and decent selection. We left satisfied.

The best Mexican food I’ve had that’s from a drive through at reasonable prices and pretty good portions for the price. Always a long wait though even with only two cars in line. Fresh food.

Excellent tacos and the fresh corn tortillas was very nice. You can spend very little to a lot of money depending on your choices. So it’s all up to you. Good place and food. Service was okay.

This place sucks, the food was gross and the waitress half assed serving us, she handed me a can of sprite and not cup or straw, and she forgot my order and i never got my tacos, she said my bad when i brought it to my attention. The seafood is oversalted and the meat is underseasoned the food looked better in the menu. Save yourself from this experience

Like Dave, I think I got foodie profiled! Went in by myself, anglo, limited spanish, but eat more than my share of Mexican food in Salinas and surrounding areas. There was a menu on the wall, but no prices listed for the tacos, burritos or tortas! How much could it be for two tacos? Plenty! Two fish tacos, a bottled water and my bill was almost $ 10! Food was good, but not great. With so many options in Salinas, I doubt I’ll go back.

STAYAWAY!!! Went to get some burritos for lunch their. bad idea it was 6 bucks for a supper burrito they said it comes with sour cream and cheese with cilantro with rice and beans and meat. this was the worst burrito by far. It had burnt meat and a bunch of rice. we called to tell her about our experience & we heard her start laughing with the cook. never will i go their again. 20 dollars later now i have a stomach ache and not hungry. FOODPOISINGALERT!!! DONTEATHERE

Yeah, I’m a white dude, married to a white chic. Yeah I’m middle aged and have gray hair. So go ahead and profile us! A bit of background. The wife and I were raised in Watsonville. Ate Mexican food? Always! Cooked by the sweetest grandma’s and mothers of our friends and neighbors. And have lived in Salinas for over twentyfive. So trying to play a dude about his«Mexican lunch» is just funny. Trying to pass a big rice and bean burrito as a pascado(fish) supreme burrito(9 bucks) was cute. After calling them out on the food the waitress blamed the cook and brought the«supreme“out on a plate… nice. Yeah it’s a little shocking to see some folk that look a bit different in your restaurant but don’t stare bro! We didn’t feel unwanted but a bit unwelcome. The noise level is huge as the front door opens up ten feet from busy Alisal. So my question is why here! Fifty more Mexican restaurants within five miles. Last words… I think I got foodie profiled.

Service was good. When it came to the handmade tortillas they were delicious. However, the shrimps used in my food were of low quality(possibly the cheapest, smallest ones you can get) but the flavor was good so I wis willing to overlook that. The micheladas were amazingly good!

Worst tacos I’ve eaten, food was just preheated. I will not be going here any time soon.

Came during lunch just for 2 tacos n gave my credit card n nowhere does it say minimum of $ 5 to use it but the lady didn’t take it because she would get charged for under $ 5 n didn’t have cash. I assumed they take the credit card because they have the logos on their cashiers register… Oh well didn’t get the tacos n bad service just for them to save themselves from the charge…

¡Muy rico! Just took in some asada and al pastor tacos. Washed them down with a couple frosty Dos Equis. Definitely worth a stop si tienes hambre en Salinas.

Walking in, we could see the place was recently remodeled. Still had a cozy feel, and was nice and clean. Looking through the opening behind the ordering counter to the kitchen, I could see a nice, old fashioned wooden tortilla press. Yes, you get corn tortilla which are made right there by hand. To order. More on that in a bit. We hit at lunch time, and the wait wasn’t bad. They had a good amount of business flowing through, and it moved like clockwork. We ordered 2 super burritos — one pastor, one carnitas. Both were excellent — haven’t found a better place yet. Now, my favorite appetizer in a Mexican restaurant that makes their own tortillas is a very simple thing — fresh tortillas, maybe hit with a little butter, and whatever hot sauce /salsa they make. The homemade tortillas here were excellent. They actually came out AFTER we had our burritos, because(1) they were pretty busy with lunch orders and(2) they are MADETOORDER, not sitting around. I think next time(and there will be a next time), we’ll order a dozen tortillas to go with our food, and enjoy them at home.
