This is my favorite place to take my 2 young girls. They love the imaginative play and I love the super clean play area. I highly recommend this to parents of kids under 5! The store is amazing. I absolutely loved it while I was pregnant for baby goods and clothes as well as top of the line maternity clothes. Now that I’m done having kids, I can still shop for the unique clothes for myself. I constantly get compliments on my clothes from MUT. Best place to buy birthday presents and LOVE that they wrap them!!! Thank you for being such a go to spot for shopping and play!

I really like this place. Only used the play area with my 20 months old baby and he loved it. The stuff seemed very nice and I brought water and some snacks for my son. They never told me that it wasn’t allowed. I don’t think I would buy there anything to eat as a single cup of coffee was $ 2 and not that good of a coffee. I will definitely come back especially during winter. This place costs $ 10 per child. I think under 6 months they are free and you don’t have to pay for yourself(adult) which is very reasonable especially that you can stay there until 3pm from morning hours.

I’ve bought a few gifts here and once attended a baby shower. It’s a nice space. They have some cool stuff. I was not even aware there was a play area. I wish there were more toys for sale. The clothes for both baby and mama are cute.

My 2 year old loves this place. He will play happily for several hours. They have a good variety of quality toys. I would love it if they would offer healthy eating options for the children. Unfortunately, they do not. Plus, all the unhealthy options they do offer(Cheez-its, varieties of chips, etc) are in a glass display case that is exactly eye-level to the children. Then they also have a «no outside food allowed» policy which they foist upon the public as a «safety issue» due to allergies. But, obviously it is so the parents will be forced to buy their children the store’s food. Which I wouldn’t mind so much, if they actually sold healthy food. I reviewed their website and it does advertise that they offer healthy snacks but, either this is a blatant lie or the individual responsible for writing that hasn’t the faintest clue what actually constitutes a healthy snack. Also, their coffee is pretty bad… it is the Keurig cup type. Their lack of high quality, tasty food is a real shame especially because, they have such a nice area for parents to sit, chat, and eat. The staff are usually friendly and helpful. Overall, I would recommend this place. Just feed your children before you come and bring plenty of water to drink.

Maybe my expectations were too high, but I was thinking this would be a little more than an upscale toy store with a playroom that you had to pay for. While my child did have a little bit of fun, I’m not sure we would ever go back as I think most of us in attendance thought the price was more expensive than the fun that it provided. All in all, I would use this place as a boutique toy store but not for entertainment.

After a baby shower in Detroit, the glowing mama to be wanted to head to Saline to visit this baby/toddler/maternity shop. Since I do not have little ones underfoot, I’m getting the«eee, squee, baby things!» out my system by joining my friends on the journeys of their pregnancies, so a stop at a baby boutique sounded like a good idea! Now, I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you are on a tight budget. They were having a back room sale while we were there, and while there were plenty of good deals, most penny pinching moms are going to find a better price point elsewhere. However, as the yuppie momma I hope to be one day, My Urban Toddler is my kind of place. They have well respected brands at fair prices… the items may not be cheap, but they will LAST! Cribs, bedding, clothing, toys, strollers and all the other lovely accouterments you will need before bringing your little one home. And for the pregos of the world, they have a HUGE selection of nursing bras and maternity clothes. The staff were so friendly & helpful. We started looking at the normal priced merchandise first and were urged to go in the back to look at the sale items(hurrah!). I found some cute baby gifts in the sale room to bring back home to PA with me. If I was an Ann Arbor/Detroit person, this would definitely be on my «go to» list for baby gear!

Great place for little ones(under 5) to play and be creative. Clean, imaginative and best of all your 1 year old won’t get trampled by 8 year olds. My Urban Toddler also has a wonderful boutique with cute items for pregnant moms, nursing moms and children under 5. I bought my carseat here(Britax) and they helped me install it properly/safely. Very cute items for a unique baby shower gift.

I was going to write this place a nice review, but Becki B. beat me to the punch. This is a great place for the little ones to let off some steam. Lots of pretend play areas including a stage with a puppet theater and a play kitchen area. They also host birthday parties. Will be back, despite the 10 mile drive!

This place totally rocks my socks! I admittedly did nothing other than chase my child through the actual retail portion, but we spent a few hours together in the play area. It was excellent! It’s $ 5 per child to get in, but you can get a punch card that gets you a free visit once it’s filled up(I think after seven visits?). They are very conscious that they’re working with everyone’s little treasures(that’s their kids, I mean). When you enter after removing your shoes, an invisible number is written on your hand and your child’s. When you’re ready to leave, they use a magic light to see both of your numbers. That way you don’t accidentally take the wrong child home! Oh, and no one can take your child home either(that’s probably the actual point). Besides the vast area for toddlers on up to(I think) five year olds, there’s a padded area that’s fenced in in the middle for infants and crawlers. Also, there are a variety of classes offered for kids, kids with parents, or moms/expectant moms. If you have kids or know kids, there’s something you’ll love at My Urban Toddler.

What a cool idea for a store! My Urban Toddler combines a toy and clothing store for young children with a play space. It also offers goods for parents, including a small selection of maternity wear. I have three nieces who are 4 or under with birthdays coming up soon, and I found lots of good options for gifts, from bath sets to baby toys to princess crowns. The store also has a selection of slings, strollers, and tote bags. A big chunk of the store is dedicated to play space for kids, which has to be a blessing when you’re the mother of a toddler trying to get a little shopping done, though there is a small fee. The store also offers classes for expectant parents and parents of young children.
