One of the swankiest yet cozy coffee shops in SLC. Though rather, small it makes up for it in sophistication. I’ve been coming here off and on for years and every time has been a delight. Though a touch pricey I enjoy the indulgence of this place and like stopping in when I feel like treating myself-whether it be alone or with a friend and I’m just wanting to experience some romance. Since I have never been much of a coffee drinker I can’t give you the impression of the bean skills here. I do however find their sandwiches and desserts most delicious. The drinks I have had here(coffee and non) have been just as yummy too. The staff have always been wonderfully engaging to, which a touch of flirt which I always enjoy, and great service Fabulous place.

Cozy is the first word that comes to mind, especially a seat next to the fireplace. If they don’t have a fireplace, I certainly remember one: that’s how cozy it feels. The owner is really warm and friendly, another argument for small businesses. Food is a bit pricey, so I mainly focused on this place as great for coffee and place to work and study. Sometimes, you run into no seats left, and no one is going to give up one anytime soon. This is a place you bunker down in for several hours – not a «get it and go» joint. It’s nearby a Chinese market & a Thai place(if memory serves). Maybe you can buy a cheap Chinese pastry to take it with you. Don’t tell the owner I said that.

Cocoa Caffe is good. I love the Hot Chocolate which is the thick(think melted candy bar) Italian cocoa. It is the best, but too much gives me a headache. They have very nice seating throughout and it is very cozy. Couches, tables and chairs are available everywhere and they have outdoor seating in the summer. They also have a great selection of magazines from around the world. The free wi-fi is a plus and pretty much everyone here has their head in a computer(so the magazines are not too worn out). They make a great Panini for lunch so it is nice to stop in now and then, check the email and eat lunch. I have never had a coffee or espresso here. Funny when you think about it. Check it out sometime.

I love this place. They have the laxest atmosphere, friendly staff, and comfortable seating(even though theymay not look it). It’s the perfect place to hang out with a friend or have some alone time — they’ve got free Wifi(with purchase of course)! The music is always very nice, and their coffees are made just right. The only grip I have about this place is 1) parking — the spaces in the front are limited, and street parking is hard due to the quality of the nearby streets. 2) Their pastries are probably not fresh and left overnight. The only time I ordered one it was rock-hard. I tried to cut it with a knife, and it went everywhere. Just stick to the drinks.

The Cocoa Caffe has the best hot chocolate in town! It’s got a somewhat non-descript storefront in a strip mall. The baristas are definitely SLC hipsters(and I’ll bet you thought that was an oxymoron! but it’s not!); and they make a mean mocha. The music is unintrusive, there’s a functioning fireplace(which is wonderful during the blustery winters!), and it’s open until midnight – which is later than many other establishments around town. A great place to sip something warm and relax for a bit.
