Yum YUm YUM!
I love Hokulia! I’ve had shaved ice all over the Wasatch Front and Hokulia definitely takes the cake. The shave ice, not shaved ice, is very soft. No crunchies at this place. They have a lot of great flavors and good ideas for combinations.
I especially love the location and ambiance. Sugarmont Plaza is so fun, especially with all the cool hand-​lettering surrounding. Definitely a great stop for a quick summer treat!
My only recommendation would be to thaw the ice cream a bit. My husband ordered his with ice cream. They put a big chunk of ice cream at the bottom, but by the time he finished his shave ice on top, it was still rock solid. So we just ate it a little later when it melted a bit.

Not impressed, but maybe I have high expectations, comparing this place to the shave ice I’ve had in Hawaii. I thought the shave ice was mediocre. I’ve had better coconut syrup at other shave ice shacks in Utah. I enjoyed the ice cream more than the shave ice.

Well, if I am in the mood for a snow cone, this is the place I would go. I debated between and 3 and 4 star, simply because it’s a snow cone, so it’s not science, but at the same time, Hokulia does quench my appetite for one. Plus, they are massive, so ordering just a small is plenty, even to share with my girls.
If I had one suggestion, it would be to pick up the pace a bit. The kids in the shack are kind of just chilling out and moving slowly, when there are a ton of people waiting. So they need to learn how to move quicker. And since this was my first job, many many years ago, I promise it IS possible to make a snow cone at a quicker pace ;-)

Not as good as the one in Provo, also I saw one of the works clean the tables and then make a shaved ice for a guest without changing her gloves

This shaved ice is amazing. Not the cheap stuff like most shaved ice places. The smalls are enough for two people. Definitely get the ice cream in the bottom, so much better!
I am giving this 4 stars for their terrible design of the cups they use, they are so top heavy they just tip over. If you have kids be careful, get a table with the holders, the kids will loose half their shaved ice because of tip overs.

Soooo YUM! Just remember if your going to get the big kahuna, it is really huge! I would’ve given this review 5 stars but the only down fall is they hardly put any (condensed milk) on your shaved ice even though I asked for a lot! Other then that it is really delicious!
