I have had tacos with this street vendor since the Fourth of July festivities! I knew the SABOR was justified after 3 groups showed up after and ordered, while chowing down on my favourite morsels, the carnitas and lengua on fresh hot, homemade tortillas! The cart will be open during the Sugar House Art Walk on every second Friday of the month. The added bonus, is that the Unilocal* tent will be positioned near Don Martin on September 14, 2012!

This is a dependably good taco cart. The owners are very friendly, and the food quality is excellent. There are a couple of shaded benches near by, where you can enjoy your lunch break. Its a more peaceful area than the State street cart… with similar food. Don Martin has been next to the«sugar-hole» for 3 years now. I sure hope the city lets them stay in the same general area when construction of the new Sugarhouse downtown finally begins.

Having been going to this taco cart for over a year now and have never been disappointed. The women who owns the cart and works very long hour is very sweet. Please leave her a tip will your dining on these flavorful street tacos. Her condiments are always fresh and a nice variety. Try the napalies(sp) cactus very good, as is the al pastor and chicken.

The Asada was really tasty and the lady was nice. However, I ordered 3 tacos and two of them were wrong, and not for my lack of spkrekenzi the right lingity. The pork was super greasy and the chicken was meh. The green salsa was super spicy which I wasn’t expecting and overwhelmed my tiny tacos. It’s hella cheap, so it’s good for that, but for the same price, get your buns down to 800 south and state street and get the best street tacos in town from the cart ON800 south(the state street is decent but 800 south is better).

We always get the lady, who is incredibly polite and friendly. Best deal in SLC. Can’t beat the $ 1 taco! We always get vegetarian, which comes with perfectly homemade pinto beans, cheese, and rice and fresh grilled tortillas. The cold toppings and salsa are always fresh and delicious, the haberno and pickled onion salsa being fire alarm hot, but delicious when they have it. The guac is fresh and a bit spicy, and they have excellent salsa verde. The fresh chopped vegetables are above and beyond most carts, and they seem to have a dedicated clientele.

The woman referred to by the previous reviewer is there 9 to 9, Monday through Saturday. There is also a man. The lady speaks English whereas the man speaks only Spanish. I have walked by this cart many times but it was only today I decided to give it a try. Went for the chicken tacos. Initially, asked for a couple but when the lady laid out the tacos, I realized I should ask for a couple more. So while the chicken was being prepared, the lady suddenly took off her apron, dashed across 11th east and disappeared. No reason to worry as the man took over. He puts plenty of chicken on each of the tacos and hands them to me on a plate. I suppose the look on my face made him realize he has to point me to a salsa bar. So I take my plate, garnish the tacos with salsa, hot sauce, onions and cilantro. The tacos looked much better now but I also felt like having some rice and beans. So I hand my plate back to him and ask for the same. More finger pointing and a bunch of sí’s and no’s later, I have them both on my plate. The food. Was delicious! All four tacos disappeared in no time and I was left craving for a few more. Unfortunately, this happened after I reached home and after 9 pm. Bad for me but good for them as they get 4 stars and a fan! For to-go orders, they only wrap your plate using aluminum foil. So carrying can be tricky. Cash only. The tacos cost a buck each. You don’t have to deal with Mr. 6.8% and leave with a bunch of loose change, which is awesome!

I moved here from San Diego, so it is really hard for me to even muster up the energy to go for Mexican. A few places have made me eat those words, one of which is Tacos De Don Martin. This is a taco cart, not a restaurant on Highland just south of 2100 South. I am not positive but I believe the owner is a woman and she is there rain, snow or shine and always with a smile on her face. I have had her carne asada, carnitas, bean and cheese, veggie burrito and chicken tacos. Everything is full of flavor, reasonably priced and comes with your choice of a lovely sauce and salsa bar(er, cooler).
