Seriously the worst burrito place in Marin! Save your money and your stomach and go to chipotle. The staff was rushing my bf and I to order because they were closing soon… They also didn’t use gloves: hairnets which is unacceptable! The food was bland and wasn’t fresh whatsoever … Nope, not coming again.

Should be zero stars. Is it company policy to not wear gloves? The tattooed cashier actually wrapped the burrito with her bare hands after being on the cash register. She should be removed immediately! Needless to say, I will never be back!

Health alert… I went in there and in the process of waiting 30 for my food(granted they got a rush) as I stood there waiting I had the misfortune of watching the cashier count money including tip jar and without hesitation turn and barehanded bag up some tortilla chips absolutely disgusting lost my appetite.

It is impressive really. In the past 5 times I have been to this place, not once has my order been correctly done. It started out okay, maybe just adding grilled veggies or forgetting to put in lettuce but then the staff felt they needed to kick it up a notch to really drive the point home. Most recently my shrimp burrito with no salsa became a chicken burrito with salsa and with some fried vegetables or something. I recommend there be a dart board put in the back where customers throw darts at the different food options and that becomes their orders, at least then the customer knows why their order is nothing like it started.

This place is going downhill. Been going once every couple of weeks since opening. The staff seems to have been reduced to a couple of bitter highschool aged teenagers, worrying more about their hair-colors and checking iphones. Nearly impossible for them to get an order right. Corn tortillas instead of requested flour, 5 left over tiny pieces of chicken in the salad, a fistful of onion per taco and hair in the salad. Very disappointing. Oh how we miss Burritoville.

Just tried my 2nd burrito from there in 2 weeks. Both have been way less than par. First one was freezing cold, and this round I received the crispy endings of the grilled chicken filler that I guess had been sitting there for hours and it wasn’t even warm(despite a request). Granted each of these stops was around 8pm– close to closing time. Perhaps the employees are giving me a sign to not come in so late again. Not sure I’ll circle back any time now.

I’m not a fan. The steak burrito was relatively cheap(only $ 7.25 compared to the high roller eateries in the plaza) which is comparable to Chipotle, but like Chipotle, you should probably avoid this place. My high tech burrito was lukewarm, unacceptable considering I was the first customer of the day. Afterwards, I felt my stomach churning. Luckily, I have an iron stomach, but wherever I eat something that causes me physical discomfort, I never go back.

Im so surprised to see all the terrible reviews I hope that people writing these reviews don’t just slam the place when they have had one visit. I always give a second chance to places in the neighborhood unless it is unedible. I have eaten at all of the HTB in Marin more than once. It’s not gourmet mexican but it is a good meal and the ingredients are fresh. It fills the need when Im in a hurry. I stopped by today at the San Anselmo location this was my first time at this store. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was really really good. It wasn’t the standard chunk grilled chicken it actually was marinated and the chicken was so tender. The flavor of the sauce on the chicken was so yummy. I am hoping that all the HTB’s are changing to this other type of chicken or at least give people an option. As far as service the ladies were very friendly and my order came up exactly as I requested(i like my quesadilla’s super crispy. They are young I would say 18 – 19 or more. I don’t go into places expecting everyone to have a perfect day… I don’t. I think if we approach the places with a really nice attitude you can turn a situation from not so good to great!!! They wished me a great day and I went off. Maybe all the negative reviews have made them take a look at their customer service because they were really nice. Try it again…

Bland food, does not taste good, one of the new cashiers is good, but the other cashiers have no clue to getting the order right and smile and show the customers why buy food there

We do not live in the Marin anymore, but we have family who still do. When we come visit we always have to go to High Tech at least once while we were there. When we visited this location they did not have my usual«surf and turf», but they were happy to make it for me even though is was not on the menu. I just wish we had one down here in the Palm Springs, CA area.

You claim to use your own fresh ingrediants yet everyone tastes canned dog food, your employees obviously don’t know how to wrap a burrito, and you speak of your establishment as a healthy alternative to traditional Mexican burritos?! Hahahaha is that suppose to be some sarcastic joke, because healthy and alternative are the last things that should be associated with high tech burrito.

Average burrito and poor service. Whoever took my order screwed it up. Never confirmed it although I repeated it twice. Then I get there and discover it’s wrong. Waited while they made it again … Wrong. Third time was a charm. Wasn’t worth the wait, aggravation or money.

I’m surprised by the low reviews of this place! I thought there was a good selection of choices for each category, and I got a tasty veggie burrito that was hot and tasty. A lot of quick burrito places the food isn’t that hot or fresh tasting because it’s just sitting out. The avocado verde salsa is delicious and moderately hot(as they show with a convenient spice illustration). I also thought it was a nice touch that they had wheat tortillas, and for only $ 6 for a burrito it’s kind of a steal! I will definitely be back!

WORST High Tech I’ve been to!!! They make mistakes on every order, take forever and the food is itself is less than mediocre at best. Save yourself the trip and a bad fast, and not healthy meal. In addition, the young guy at the register taking orders has a seriously bad attitude!

It looks like fans of a former tenant(different burrito shop) have found the new HTB burrito shop to be disappointing. My experience is opposite, except for the pricing.(Bville’s food wasn’t that thrilling in my limited past experience.) At HTB, I appreciate that I can get a wheat tortilla and other flexible choices. And in my 4 – 5 visits quality has been just fine. No staff problems, although I do remember once – years ago – a man working at the HTB in Strawberry Village was so incredibly nasty to my wife that she swore to never set foot in there ever again. We never returned, in fact. I hope the corporation has improved their practices so the staff are compensated(and managed) more appropriately. I wonder if this HTB is pricing high because Red Hill has the most excessive rents around? Seems like other R H tenants were chased away in the last few years for this reason.

Our office in San Anselmo pre-ordered two party packs for an office lunch. I realized afterwards that they didn’t put the rice and beans in the bag — two major ingredients in a burrito. I spoke to them and their corporate office in Petaluma about it and asked for a partial refund. I told them that the rest of the food was good, because it was. They said I left too early, as the rice and beans were ready, but not in the bag with the rest of the food. I had paid, they brought a bag to the counter, I asked the cashier if that was my food, and he said yes. How was I supposed to know there was more food coming? Since they didn’t write down my name and number(um, yeah?), they couldn’t call me to tell me to come back. Well, after asking THREE times for a refund, I just checked my credit card, and they refunded me $ 13 out of the total $ 127. It’s so sad, because I’ve always liked High Tech Burrito, and since their store on the Miracle Mile left, I was hoping to start up a relationship with them again. And yes, I miss Burritoville so much!

So disappointing!!! I’m a big fan of a good burrito but this one was nothing but blend. No flavors at all, beans tasted like nothing!!! There was a lot of rice and barely any steak. Steak had no seasoning, just really bad! Tortilla was loosely wrapped so after 2 bites my burrito was falling apart. Wait, it gets worse!!! On bite #3 I discovered a hair!!! Yuck!!! I just got up and left.

Hair in my burrito! Never again. 2 stars cuz it was fairly priced. I really wanted to love it, having learned while I was there that it’s a locally grown company that started nearly 30 years ago. And in all fairness, it happens. But it happened to me my first time eating there, and about 3 bites in. So never again HTB.

I’m upset that this place came along and knocked BurritoVille out of business. That colors my review a bit. HTB is a bit overpriced for what is, but decent. I have a quibble though: They charge for chips, which are not made on premises(if they do it like the HTB in Petaluma), and not only that. they only fill the bag ¾ths? Not good. I noticed this several times as their pattern, and when I pointed it out, they said something about«that’s how Corporate wants it». Shakes head. I will do my best to patronize burrito spots in San Anselmo that make their own chips, dont get stingy, and dont say silly things such as «Corporate».

I wanted to express my disappointment in the so-called winner in the Pacific Sun«Best of Marin» Burrito category. Who voted for this place? I’ve probably had well over 1000 burritos in my life growing up chicano in SF’s mission district. Despite my hesitancy, my gf insisted we go try it out(i prefer more authentic mexican joints). The place is clean and has a nice outdoor firepit sitting area, and had a friendly staff, but — Strike #1 : They didnt call us in the patio when the order was up, so the burritos sat for a few minutes and were barely warm by the time we bit into them. Strike #2: As i began unwrapping them to see which was which, i noticed mine was noticeably lighter than hers, which i snickered about. Then i saw that the tortilla was not tightly wrapped, with lotsa extra tortilla«skin» bunched up, meaning it was not full-on hungry-man-sized. Strike #3: After a few bites i realized there were no beans in my burrito. What? c’mon! It also didnt have much cheese, sour cream or guac, although my gf’s had TONS of guac oozing out(although she didnt order any). So i took it back up to the counter. There was a situation at the register, so i had to wait about 5 minutes while they sorted it out(i didnt want to be rude and blurt out a complaint from the back of the line). Finally i got to the front and the burrito dude was like, «whats up, something wrong?» and i was like«yeah, there;s no beans in there». Ooops he said, as we searched for the missing beans. Confirmed. He apologized and made up another one. By the time the second one came out my belly was in a confused state between«still hungry» and«disatisfied». I took two bland bites and couldnt do anymore. My belly was now at the state of «OVERIT»! So, thats it. Sorry to say this burrito was probably the worst i’ve had in a few years, absolutely DEFINITELY not the best in Marin. I prefer any of the other burrito joints in San Rafael and will probably not come back here again, wah-wah.
