This place is awesome. The food is delicious and it’s kid friendly… it’s not the best pizza I’ve ever had, but it’s really good. The crust is just the right amount of crunch and softness, and the toppings on the pizza are generous. Combine that with a nice wine list, nice owner, and how pleasant it was to dine out with my one year old here, I’m definitely coming back again and again.

As an ethical vegan, I sure love opportunities to get delicious cheesy food that is cruelty free! Pizzalina is now carrying Miyoka’s vegan mozzarella which you can put on any pizza. This cheese is amazing– i’ve given it to a number of people that had no idea it was vegan. Also delicious, their beet arugula salad. Yum!

Used to come here just for the pizza and salad, both of which are outstanding, however, you have to try the entrees. Four of us shared the Caesarlina, the Winter Caprese Salad(Ramini Bufala Mozzarella, mixed winter citrus, Marshalls honey & toasted almonds) an incredibly delicious combination, a Margherita pizza, the Wood Roasted Prawns and the Devil’s Gulch Smoked Pork Ragu with Cipollini onions on pappardell pasta. The only thing left on the plates were the Cipollini onions(they needed to be cooked more) and that was it. We mopped any sauce with bread. For dessert we shared the Rosemary Olive Oil Cake and a side of 3 Twins ice cream. Again, not a bit remained. Great food, good staff and lovely owners. Happy it’s nearby.

Just back from Pizzalina. We eat there about twice a month. We stick to basics _salad, pizza a 350 ml carafe of red wine. Pizzalina never disappoints. Yes, there are poorly behaved kids with parents who shirk their responsibility. Go to Pizzalina on weekday night, avoid Friday.

Pizzalina is hands-down the best pizza I’ve had in Marin. I am New York City born and raised, and consider pizza to be as essential to my survival as water. Like a true New Yorker, I’ve only ever ordered take-out; don’t know what the service is like, don’t care. I moved to San Anselmo from Brooklyn. Would’ve been pleased to have Pizzalina in my Cobble Hill neighborhood. Now if only they delivered…

Vegan pizza!!! Yummy vegan pizza! Quality ingredients! There was a ton of pizza in San Anselmo but this is the top dog. The pizza is delicious and they have a decent beer & wine list. Outdoor seating here is great as well. This place is local, quality, and friendly. I find it very reasonably priced for the product the serve. I’ve visited on weekdays when it’s slow. It’s funny to me that people have left negative reviews about this business because other customers allow their kids to be crazy. It’s pizza people — I’m not afraid of the locals!

Fast, fresh, delicious. Every meal I’ve had at Pizzalina has been extremely enjoyable. From a quick lunch, to a leisurely late night dessert date: I’ve always had solid food, service and casual but fun ambience each time. Pumped to be within walking distance, and even more excited that they’ve got an eclectic wine selection and local beers on tap. Keep it up!

Excellent appetizers pizza and service but unruly children may spoil what is otherwise a pleasant experience. It is NOT Chucky Cheese where children can run rampant! My friends with obedient children dine elsewhere now as a result and perhaps we will also! The owner can make this a better experience should she elect to do so.

The person below who described this as «Marin’s answer to Chuck E Cheese» nailed it. But at least with Chuck E Cheese there are things to distract children so that they don’t just run around and knock over chairs and bump into people. Granted, a lot of this is the parents’ fault, but the restaurant does nothing to discourage it. To add to the challenges, the acoustics in the inside are so bad we couldn’t hear each other(over the screaming kids). Service was a bit challenging as well. We were seated promptly, but after waiting 15 minutes at the table and not even getting a glass of water offered to us we left. The pizza looked and smelled pretty good, but it just wasn’t worth the stress. Maybe next time we’ll try take out.

Very friendly staff, and the food is excellent. I got the pizza special of the day, and it was fantastic, full of garlic. I don’t think I could order something there that I don’t like. :-)

delicious. One of the best pizza places I’ve been to. Fresh produce, manager told us they just got everything this morning from the farmers market. The pizzas had very rich flavors but doesn’t make you feel heavy and bloated after eating. Service was great, very quick and the waiter made sure to keep my drink filled. Honestly I would almost give them a five star rating. I prefer my pizza to be more firm and more crispy on the bottom and for that reason alone is why I am not giving it a five. Could just be my opinion only or the cook was rushed because it was busy. Overall I live out of town and will go here any chance I get

Delicious pizza and unique flavors! I stopped by here on the way back from a camping trip with a group of 11 people. There was one table that fit us perfectly, and the service was very friendly and quick, both to take our order and deliver our food(which was a good thing too since I had to get to the airport!) We tried 5 different pizzas — the Margherita, Sunnyside, Alto, Baltimore Park, and Escalle. I actually ended up liking all of them and was happy that they were the types of pizzas that I wasn’t going to get anywhere else(at least not normally). The Sunnyside had a lot of corn — which I particularly enjoyed but be wary of that if you’re not a huge corn fan. The Baltimore Park mushrooms were really juicy and delicious! The Escalle had an interesting flavor and while it wasn’t my favorite out of the bunch I still thought it was pretty good. We pretty much inhaled the food and probably could have eaten more(but we wanted ice cream after)! If you’re feeling hungry, then one pizza is definitely will only serve 2 people. The price looks expensive on the surface($ 17 for a pizza??) but our bill ended up only being $ 12.50 a person including drinks and some meatballs. That’s not a bad deal for gourmet pizza. If I had a chance to eat at this place more and the quality of the food and service was the same I would rate it 5 stars! I would definitely come back if I had the chance!

I’ve probably dined at Pizzalina close to fifty times in the last year, as it is close to work, has excellent food using fresh ingredients, great service and both indoor and outdoor seating. What else can I say? I really like their soups and the soup/sandwich combo for lunch is just perfect. Staff is always friendly and helpful. They like to use local ingredients, which means their selections change with the seasons. Really, this is a great little find, tucked away in the Red Hill shopping center just off busy SFD blvd.

Tried out the wood fired pizza and risotto tonight. Pizza was just OK — nothing special and the risotto was a little under cooked but had good taste. The server was very nice and often asked us if we needed anything– and the food came quick which was nice. I would try it out again– my husband on the other hand… Eeeh I do have to say– the kids run around like crazy which is annoying — they are directly next door to a baseball field. Parents are too busy drinking their wine… that’s not the restaurants fault. But …

When going to dinner in a neighborhood place, it is important to pick good food and good ambiance. Pizzalina can only supply one. Good food juxtaposed children being coached to treat the restaurant like a parkour class only leads to subpar dining. Recommendation, to invoke parents to be parents while eating at a restaurant. Let the unruly and unencumbered enjoy. If your kids can’t behave in public, please leave them home with a babysitter. It is not our job to regulate them. Not a place I would recommend to friends.

Try the amazing lunch specials! We always enjoy eating at Pizzalina, but just discovered their great lunches! Two items, generous portions, for just $ 8! We also love their warm olive appetizer; a massive amount of special olives for just $ 5! At lunch time they also offer individual slices of pizza, either cheese or pepperoni. We split one of those two, and it was exquisite. A great place to eat, with wonderful, friendly servers and owners!

I’ve been here a number of times and never reviewed, but I love to come during the week after the crowds are gone before closing and enjoy our meal in peace and quiet. The woodfired pizzas are delicious — I get the Pastore and my husband will get the Escalle and then we share a burrata appetizer or special salad and then have leftovers. He really is a fan of the braised beef on pappardelle but I see it’s been replaced with duck. I’ve had the risotto before and was happy. I did not like the olive appetizer and just never ordered it again — there was a weird flavor for me off the hot olives, not sure what it was. Lastly, they always feature a nice selection of local and Napa wines including the Kendric and my splurge, the Paradigm half bottle — yummo! Nice addition to the area. Thanks Pizzalina.

This is a good restaurant. We split the Cesarlina Salad, which had a nice light dressing. I loved the risotto, which had a generous portion of burrata cheese on top. My boyfriend ordered the Devil’s Gulch Rabbit Ragu, and liked it, but the portion was a bit on the smaller side. As a former Sonoma County resident, I was happy to be able to order a Lagunitas IPA. The wine list looks good. The service was lacking. I know this is a newer restaurant, and I am hoping our server was new. It wasn’t very busy, and there was a team of servers, a hostess, and a bartender. It took a long time to get our beers, as well as our check at the end of the meal. Also, after we ate our salad, our server cleared our plates and silverware, but then gave back our dirty silverware«so we could save it.» I’ve never had that happen before. I’ve also served and bar tended for nearly four years in casual and fine dining settings, and I would always offer fresh silverware for the next course. I will be back, as the food was good, and this is one of my neighborhood restaurants. I think I’ll give the pizza a try. I’m hoping the gluten-free pizza crust is worth the extra $ 5.

I’ve been to Pizzalina several times, but I had not had the chance to review it until now. It is, quite simply, some of the best thin crust pizza I have had in Marin county. The crust, when it comes right out of the oven, has the perfect mix of crusty chewiness, and combined with the right toppings, is heavenly. I went back recently and had an unbelievable«yolanda» which had tomato, basil, arugula, parmesan, arugula and proscuitto that was heavenly. They have a great menu selection of salads, pizzas, and a few key Italian specialties that will satisfy most palates. And the beer and wine selection is very good. The service can be spotty at times, mainly because it is a popular place on weekend evenings with families. However, despite grumblings of other reviewers with the amount of kids there, I didn’t think the kids were a problem. I think the waitstaff just gets busy like at other places. It’s worth going on the early side as the service tends to be better than later.

One can lament the lack of good ethnic food from developing countries available in Marin or one can embrace the plethora of California’s interpretation of food from already developed countries. In this case, the latter is in order. Marin may not have needed another Italian-inspired restaurant but San Anselmo sure needed Pizzalina. With its Safeway-anchored strip mall location it took me a while to consider walking through Pizzalina’s doors. The fact that it sits in the footprint of the former Round Table Pizza dissuaded me further. But then I walked through the doors and could see no evidence of what the place once was. It has been reborn with rustic wood finishings, an inviting counter/bar, a communal table, good lighting. What it once was is unrecognizable and what it is now is a hip, welcoming environment. It is an extremely well designed restaurant; one that appeals to my eyes and inspires me to believe that this place is going to be good. The menu is grown-up and reads similar to that at Larkspur’s Pizzeria Pico, from which the owner is an almnus. If you know anything about Pico you know that it is always packed and that they serve great Neopolitan-style pizzas. Pizzalina is not packed but it serves very good pizzas(and more). The owner has received pizzaiolo certification from the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana so it could be said that she knows what she’s doing. Dinner began with a glass of on tap wine(Row 11 Pinot Noir, Local Blend 2010, $ 8) served in a sturdy glass. The menu offers an ample 8 wines on tap and many more from the bottle. Corkage is $ 15, waived if you also purchase a bottle from their menu. A good assortment of beer, ale, and lager are also offered. For food, I enjoyed the following: * Burrata with da Vero extra virgin olive oil, sea salt & crostini($ 10) — A lovely plateful of fresh cheese, lightly dressed and salted greens, and toasted crostini on which to place it all. Very delicious and I particularly liked that the waitress told us to let her know if we needed additional crostini. * Al Forno Vegetable of the Day with extra virgin olive oil & sea salt($ 6) — Baby brussel sprouts were the day’s roast vegetables. I am quite adept at making my own; these were good but mine are better.(Tip: more crispness is desired). * Margherita Pizza(tomato, basil, mozzarella, parmesan & extra virgin olive oil, $ 12) — I am far from a pizza afficionado but thought this one simply perfect. With its pizza-based menu Pizzalina is certainly a restaurant in which children are welcomed but it is a more upscale experience than a pizzeria. Not fancy, but very adult in feeling which is something I appreciate more and more these days. Pizzalina is a great addition to the Ross Valley; sort of like having our own little version of Pizzeria Pico a bit closer to home.
