I was admiring a very unique ring that someone was wearing in Marin County and she told me that it was the work of William McBride. I had some old and sentimental jewelry that I had wanted to re-​set in new pieces and so I went to William. He is incredible at his craft and his work is recognizable everywhere. The quality is fantastic and William is pleasant and cares about the his customers being pleased with the results. I still get compliments weekly on a particular ring that William designed with me!

Will McBride, The Ross Goldsmith, has made several lovely custom jewelry pieces for me over the years, but the «Honeycomb» ring he made for me recently is truly fabulous! From my simple sketch, he was able to create a unique modern design in gold that includes my collection of small family diamonds. I’m a beekeeper, so setting the diamonds in hexagons reflects my passion for honeybees as well as showcasing the stones.
McBride welcomed my input every step of the way. My mother’s and grandmother’s engagement ring diamonds are now in that ring, and it means a great deal to me. It turned out better than I could have imagined, and I constantly get compliments.
If you have an idea for a custom jewelry design, or just want to modify something you see in his store, McBride is very accommodating, and is probably the most talented jeweler you’ll find in the Bay Area. Plus he’s a really nice guy.

Once given an idea or inspiration, Will is a craftsman who can create a piece that far exceeds one’s highest expectations. Over the years, he has made: a star-​ruby ring as a gift from me to my husband (later adding small diamonds to the sides); a beautiful gold mounting to modernize a family 2 cwt. diamond ring for me; as well as sapphire, diamond and emerald post earrings. «Off the shelf» I have purchased a set of gold «earring collars» for the posts, «perfect» gold hoop earrings, and an incredible ruby-​throated gold hummingbird broach with an opal wing.
Most recently I received, as a surprise from my husband for our 20^th anniversary, an exquisite white and gold pendant created by Will of heirloom diamonds featuring a — gold Roman numeral XX signifying the 20 years — with a blue sapphire in the middle echoing my engagement ring motif! Thank you, Will!

Excellent service from the owner. He was informative, listened attentively to my exact specifications, and delivered on them in the final product. My ring turned out beautiful and exactly as I wanted.

The Ross Goldsmith is excellent. William McBride designed and made my engagement/​wedding ring set in 1991 and my husband went back to him to make an anniversary ring. I also had him repair an antique ring and reset it with a new stone. William is pleasant to work with and a master at his craft.
