Worst service ever. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Don’t sit at the bar. No one will come.

The Tuesday night $ 5 is you get what you pay for. I have been going there fairly often until one Tuesday the waitress asked me how I wanted my portabella and then I told her w/out the bun. She thought I wanted it w/out the patty and then that is how she served it. I asked her where the patty was and then she said she thought I had asked her w/out the patty. I don’t wanna go there again. I have had it rectified in the past when I ordered the white bean soup that came w/out the avocados but this time I didn’t.

One of my favorite places to go with my hubby. Food is always tasty and service is normally on point. I think because it’s a popular place the servers may get overwhelmed and not always available on busy nights. Otherwise, I love coming here.

This is one of our favorite hang outs now since Houlihans went downhill and Baker St. Pub closed. They have great outdoor seating area. Full bar of course and the drinks are good and strong. Our server, Allison was awesome. She paid just enough attention to us and made sure we got refills when needed without«hovering» over us. They have a lot of variety on the menu and the food was tasty. Love this place!

LOVE this place and this location in Stone Oak! Amazing service, food and drinks. Ask to sit in Kate’s section when you go and make sure you tip her well!

Absolutely terrible service! A 30 minute meal took 2 hours &30 minutes. Staff takes there time and will not help you. To top that off, my chicken burger arrived at the wrong table, and when I received my passed around chicken burger it was cold and the bread was soggy. I’ve lived in stone oak for 20 years and out of all the restaurants, bars, and fast food places… THISHASTOBETHEWORST! *DONOTCOMEHEREANDWASTEYOURHARDEARNEDMONEY*

By far the best bar/restaurant in San Antonio. My bartender Melody was not only knowledgeable but friendly and made this experience very memorable. If your looking for a place to hang out after work this is it. Not only was the wait staff amazing but management was out and about making sure things went smoothly. I’d give this place 10stars if possible.

Can’t say enough about the customer service just wish it was an easier location to get to. There is so much buffoonery going on on 281 I think hinders Bar Louie from being at capacity. All bars offer booze, beer, and food for the most part. These guys and gals work their tails off. This is my number one spot, because I’m a simple guy that desires the simple things in life. A stiff drink, a nice gal, and being amongst new friends while sharing stories about my friends in the #414. Come down anytime of the year grab some food have a drink and stay a while. Cause you’re amongst friends.

Been here about 5 times in a year in a half… every time the service is AWFUL, and SLOW, even when there’s hardly anyone else in there. Food is good & variety of martinis are great, if you don’t mind waiting at least 15 minutes for a server to even come take your order and waiting another 15⁄20 minutes to even get your drink, longer when they’re busy.

Awesome bar! Just be weary of the bartenders if you pay cash. This particular bartender took the rest of l my cash as tip, without even question. When I went to another Bartender, he started given myself and the other bartender the evil look.

Came in at lunch time sharp, place is empty. Should have turned and left but I was hungry and wanted a decent salad. I ask for too much apparently. It’s 12:26 and I’m still waiting on my togo salad that doesn’t even have any meat. I don’t get it. This was a bad decision. Foot note, the place spelled like a dirty restaurant kitchen. If you’ve worked in the restaurant, you know the smell. Bartender and the one waitress haven’t said two words to me. This place blows.

Terrible service… good food if you can get someone to help you. It’s sad because it’s in a great area

Great martinis, good flatbread, say at the bar with attentive bartenders, gorgeous view, etc. I don’t understand the bad reviews. Maybe they’ve upped their game but it’s a nice night here on Saturdays.

This Bar Louie looks nice the décor and the bar looks great for first impression. They have a fully stocked bar and many seating area for both small and large groups. The service was average there were times when my friend needed a refill on her drink and it took 15mins before the waitress came back to refill. the chicken nacho we order was ok the chips were good but the chicken was dry and rubbery texture it was $ 11.95 and for that price was not worth it especially when they serve it in a cone shape and they stuff the bottom with lettuce(see the photo) I had the $ 3.95 draft beer Blue moon and the fried calamari it was rubbery too over cooked but the seasoning on it was not bad. My friend order meatball and I tried it and it reminded me of chef boyardee canned meatball it not very tasty and also dry even with the sauce, lastly we tried the BBQ boneless chicken and it was the only item that the chicken was cooked right and was not dry. The bar made my friends amaretto sour and that was the only perfect item through our dining experience there.

«I’ve been here ten minutes, and already the service is the shittiest.» –That was my Unilocal check-in comment upon finding a table and ordering here. To be fair, nearly every review warns about this and I came on their Tuesday $ 5 burger night. But the staff weren’t overwhelmed, they were just bad at their jobs. And if it’s this prevalent, I can’t even fault them, because it must be a management issue. THEFOOD: Joined their text club the day before visiting and got a free app coupon, used it on the Bavarian Pretzel Sticks. Order comes with 4 breadstick-sized pretzels and three dipping sauces(queso, cinnamon-sugar, and honey mustard). They didn’t taste fresh, but they weren’t bad. Sister and I each had a burger– they are all oddly served dry and cooked medium well(more on that below), which detracted from flavor. She was underwhelmed by the Fried Louie(cheeseburger with fried egg) and even adding barbecue sauce didn’t help. I felt the Chicago Stockyard burger had a great-tasting and generous amount of parmesan-bleu cheese, but the mushrooms were cold, which was a letdown. Neither of us cared for the dense, stale pretzel buns and ate ours topless. They weren’t bad for a discount night, but I wouldn’t pay full price for either of them. SERVICE: Upon entry, there’s a sign to seat yourself, which is less than ideal when it’s busy. It took ten minutes for our server to greet us, wipe down the table, and get our drink orders. Another five to provide us with a menu that wasn’t wet and illegibly smeared inside. But the best part was when we placed our orders and asked for our burgers to be medium-rare. «Sorry, all of our burgers are premade. They’re all medium to medium-well. We don’t cook to order.» What?! No one in a service position should ever utter that sentence. Even a fast food burger isn’t typically premade and sitting around. Were they premade at the open of business ten hours ago? Prior to the dinner rush? Yesterday?! Nothing about that thought comes across in a way that encourages diners to have positive thoughts. Our burgers weren’t as dry as this warning led us to expect, but jeez! Additionally, management may want to consider an employee uniform. Currently, staff just walk around in black attire. You have some women in tees and shorts, some in tights and nightclub tops, and some(this one’s my favorite!) in lacy backless shirts with hot-pink bras showing underneath and ratty sneakers. Unprofessional employee attire reflects poorly on the business. This place needs help. Regardless of staff outfits and specific wording issues, we had to prompt server for basic service like water refills, silverware, and clearing the dishes. Unreal. TL;DR: The food is just fine. It’s not terrible, and the text-club perks and discount nights are awesome and keep them fairly busy. But the service turns me(and many other reviewers) off too much to ever return. Management needs to be replaced, someone new needs to whip this place into shape.

This was our first time at the Stone Oak Bar Louie, and we were only there for the drinks. We didn’t want to pay Alamo Drafthouse prices for beer, so we looked around at our options and chose BL. After looking at the Unilocal reviews(after we were already seated) I was a bit surprised at the dismal rating and complaints about service. Our service was good, and our waitress was friendly and attentive. We were there on a Friday evening, and they(thankfully) had a pretty good happy hour! Draft beer for only $ 3.75, and they offer local choices from Freetail as well as some other awesome choices from Karbach. Sweet! They also offered happy hour prices for select apps, so we ordered the trio dips and chips. Here’s where it went downhill. I can see paying $ 4.50(or whatever we paid) for the half price appetizer, but no way would I pay full price. The queso and salsa tasted bland and store-bought, and the guac looked fresh but had no flavor. I prefer my guac any day. I will say that on a previous visit to La Cantera’s BL, I was impressed with their $ 5 burger+fries night on Tuesdays, which Stone Oak offers as well. I can’t vouch for Stone Oak’s veggie burger, but I was satisfied with the La Cantera version, and I’m going to assume they are the same. It wasn’t groundbreaking or out of this world, but for $ 5, I’ll take it. Overall, I’d return to BL for the happy hour specials that extend to local craft beers, but I’ll make sure I eat ahead of time.
