Had lunch with my mom today at Bill Miller’s. We both had the chicken delite. I don’t know if that’s the real name of the plate(my mom tends to make up names for things), but it sounded like a good idea after all the holiday indulging. It’s a salad with either white or dark meat chicken on the side. To me, it was a little bland, but still good. My problem with the visit today was that the temperature in there was really cold. It was just hard to enjoy my meal when I was freezing. Granted, I didn’t mention it to anyone, but made a mental note for the next time I stop in.

This location is on par with all other Bill Miller locations. The only bad thing about it is during rush hour traffic(around 7−8AM and 5−6PM) getting out of this location can be a nightmare with how busy it gets. I have nothing to gripe about other than that though!

I had the #2 for dinner tonight, I picked it up on my way home from work. Fried chicken, potato wedges, a roll and sweet tea. Bill millers is always pretty good, the chicken was moist and crispy and the potato wedges were good. And I love their sweet tea. It’s not overly sweet. Yay!

Chicken was cooked in old dark grease, but otherwise it was ok. The fries were the same. Not the worst chicken I’ve had here but far from the best. Staff, as always, were friendly and helpful. The water was cold and clear! Yum! Christmas tree us right purty! I am the only customer in here.

First BBQ place we ate when we got to San Antonio ! Yummy I had a chicken sandwich and sweet tea with hash browns. Chicken was fresh & moist since then I have had it time & time again and they have been very consistent. Sweet tea was very watered down the first time but after that its been very good.

Sad to see that the new salad containers hold less than half of the lettuce and veggies compared to the old ones. Probably only about a cup of loosely packed romaine lettuce and 4 cherry tomatoes doesn’t count as a meal(IMHO). I would have rather paid more for the old bigger containers of salad with more veggies than pay the same for a small container. Bad move Bill Miller, bad move. As for the quality of food, like my 3 star rating, it’s A-OK. Bill Miller serves ‘fast’ BBQ so you won’t be getting top of the line here, but you’ll be getting decent tasting food at a decent price. Their salads used to be one of my faves, but now I’m not so sure they have much value since I need more than 1 to fill me up and provide the proper macronutrients my body needs for a lunch/dinner meal. My husband loves the po-boys with turkey. Their side items(green beans, fries, hash browns, etc.) leave a lot to be desired, but they aren’t bad by any means. If you need fast and want BBQ, this place will answer the call of duty. If you’re really starving for a deal, go in to eat or through the drive-through around closing time(between 9 and 9:30). They are usually offering super cheap, but fresh food for half price or even less. In my household they are known for the variety pie — a pie made of several slices of different flavors that they still have on hand at the end of the day — the last one we got(for $ 2.50) had 2 slices pecan, 1 slice coconut, 1 slice lemon, and 2 slices pumpkin. It’s a little much for a family of 2(like mine), but my husband just can’t refuse.

It’s fast food bbq so it has it’s signature taste and you know what you’re getting so no surprises here. I am a big fan of their salad de-lite, vegetable beef soup, and of course their sweet tea! There are better bbq places out there but when you are in a rush and craving their style Bill Miller’s will satisfy. I will stay away from their breakfast tacos though, for some reason they always make me feel bloated all day. I will suggest the breakfast plate which comes with eggs, sausage, beans, and potatoes. You get more bang for your buck and it comes with tortillas so you can make your own tacos the way you like them.

What? Fast food BBQ concept you say… Ummm all BBQ places I have been didn’t smoke the brisket right there per my order. It is sitting there waiting on me so aren’t all BBQ joints. FAST? I really wish I would have checked Unilocal before I stopped in for some BBQ. I knew something was up when I saw several Bill Miller’s around but thought. oh it must be good if they branched out. Being from Dallas I didn’t know this was the MickeyD’s of BBQ. Food was serviceable but not what I would call good. I think they should convert these to a fried chicken place as that was about the only thing good about our meal. Well the green beans were pretty good to. Other then that I knew I should have passed and went somewhere else. Damn hindsight!

I know… I know… I’m shocked at myself too. Reviewing Bill Millers. Well? It’s important to know these things! Even if it is about Bill Millers. THEONLY reason I am reviewing this place is because this is my stand-by lunch. It’s right across the street from me at work since being that I usually am pretty quick with lunch(must be) it’s convenient. Please also know that if I were going to eat bbq and had choices, this would by NOMEANS even come up on my list! I get the same thing every time I go grab something from there. Green beans and bbq turkey breast. That’s it. Oh also iced tea. I have to ask for the bbq sauce on the side because it’s not very good and I really would rather have the turkey dry. Their pinto beans are bland, their fried chicken is bland, and their french fries are blah. Like I said, I had to rate my stand by lunch facility! This only happens about once every two weeks, like when I’ve got no other choice and have forgotten my lunch and just cannot hold off for dinner. It happens! Bill Millers, I have this to say to you. Your green beans are good and so is your iced tea. Your turkey is good, sometimes. You do need to learn how to use some seasonings though.

What can I say about this place. Its good for what is is. The concept of fast food BBQ is new to me so I just had to try it. Like I said, its good for what it is. The fried chicken is standard and so was the brisket. If I was n the mod for fast, cheap BBQ I would go here and be more than satisfied.

I was recommended by the Hampton Inn to try Bill Millers. Just like the lady said, don’t be turned off by how trashy the place looks, their food is good. She was right. They have a drive thru and sit down dining but I walked in and got my order to go. The fried chicken was pretty damn good. Juicy and crispy. Not dry at all. The fried potatoes were«ok». If they were crunchy they would be perfect. The side roll was kinda dry, no butter. The sweet tea is, well, sweet. The kid who rung me up gave me some lime’s for my tea, that was cool. The peach cobbler was bad. Even this big girl didn’t even eat half. Wish I had some vanilla ice cream to go with it. heh heh I’ll be back to try a BBQ’d item on the menu!
