Service was great even during their busy hours, food was excellent. I had the chicken mole enchiladas and they were packed with delicious chicken that I was full before finishing my meal. I love their quaint ambiance and friendly service.

I gave place a second chance. I like to support business near by plus they have nopalitos! Thursday morning was great service! Walked ordered and service was great! I always have to customize my tacos since I don’t eat any animal products. Nopal and avo was great! I would return during the week.

Last week my wife and I had a rare chance to have lunch together. so we hit the gps for Mexican food and landed at El Milagrito. Are kind of place, not fancy just fresh and flavorful food. I had the chicken enchilada plate and my wife had the chilli rellenos plate, both awesome ! Also there unmarked sauces are tasty and I like the hot one ! I’ll be back !!

This place is my favorite in town for breakfast tacos. One of my supervisors brought it in to work and I had to go out and try it the next weekend. That green salsa is so good and SO spicy. Their chips are unique tasting. I want to say cinnamon but I may be way off. The service was really fast, friendly, and efficient. Absolutely recommend!

Awesome breakfast! Great service. Hubby had the Huevos special and a Barbacoa taco, Kiddos had Bacon and egg, Bean and Chorizo tacos. I had the Papas ranchera tacos. Tacos were a bit greasy but, were very tasty. Kids loved it. Hubby said it was the best barbacoa he’s ever had. I loved my tacos and the green salsa was amazing! Will def be back.

Tell me why… the lunch prices are the best on the st Mary’s strip. It’s a good version of a taqueria. I liked the chicken quesadilla. Food came fast. Looks like their breakfast menu is stellar. The chips are real. That’s a plus plus plus. The over sized Texas cups are good. Don’t need refills like every 5 minutes. Pros– cheap, fast, communal sugar. Cons– no parking. Communal salsa is in ketchup bottles. The green one is super hot. But really good.

Found the place on Unilocal.Being an extremely critical Mexican food eater, I loved it! Great food menu. A lot of REAL Mexican food options, not TEX-MEX. Flour tortillas that aren’t too fluffy in San Antonio can be hard to find. These are pretty good. Food didn’t take long. Parking is a bit of a hassle though. You may have to walk a bit after parking in the nearby neighborhood.

This is a mexican restaurant located near the San Antonio Zoo on N. St. Mary’s. I’ve only been here once and I don’t think I’ll be returning in the very near future. The other day I met my mother here for lunch because it’s close to her work. When I entered the restaurant it was self seating and with not very many tables open I had to sit at a dirty table. This didn’t really bother me, however, what did bother me was that the waitress didn’t bother to clean it before setting down my silverware and chips with salsa. The table was noticeably dirty with food crumbs which she was obviously oblivious to. I ordered the chili rellno and was not too satisfied with it; the meat was not that flavorful and the overall aesthetic of the dish looked soggy and greasy. I thought the rice and beans were pretty tasty and wished my plate had a bigger serving of both. Our waitress was very unfriendly and seemed clueless of her job. When we asked for to-go boxes or extra silverware it took her quite a while to bring these items and while waiting we could see her talking to other waitresses and just twiddling her thumbs.(Please keep in mind this is the lunch rush and clearly my mom only had a certain amount of time allotted for a lunch break.) I’d be willing to give this place a second chance since they seem so popular and are very close to my mom’s place of business but I definitely think they should step up their game.

The food was incredibly fresh and delicious– prices were extremely reasonable. We ordered the chilequiles Norteños and barbacoa tacos… some of the best barbacoa we’ve ever had. We were also pleasantly surprised with the coffee! Sometimes places like this will have flavorless coffee but not this one. The service was extremely helpful and friendly, food was delivered fast. Loved this place, we will definitely come again!

Very delicious Mexican food and friendly staff. I took my nieces there for breakfast and they loved their food, it filled them right up. I definitely recommend this place! Also, great and affordable prices!

The barbacoa tasted phenomenal! Great setting for a taco style breakfast. There are plenty of other choices to choose from as well for your Tex-Mex fix. I will say the red sauce has some fire and that’s not a bad thing. The staff are very courteous and attentive. I highly recommend this place as a start to your morning.

Gave it one star just to post this. Me and My wife have been in and out of mexican restaurant’s and I have to say this was one the most awful experiences me and my wife have had to date. Greasy eggs unflavored beans and potatoes and Luke warm so you can imagine the disappointment. They gave us wrong plates to start off then the menudo was too salty and cold. We were done at this point. We told the manager and we offered to pay for our drinks and he just said we could leave. He was very understanding.

We ate here while in town on a short trip. The food was good, and all the bread products were freshly made in-house. Rice and beans had no flavor. I ordered the gordita plate with beef, which I would recommend to any fellow picky meat eaters. I took off two stars for cleanliness because the sauces on all the tables had broken, crusty caps which needed a cleaning, our table was not wiped down and there were a lot of flies in the place. Wait staff was okay. **no free chips and salsa

Nice place, stopped in based off Unilocal reviews. Fast service to start. Chips were fresh and salsa was tasty. Fresh homemade tortillas both corn and flour were a treat! I ordered the Barbarcoa based off previous reviews. I must say I usually stay away from Barbarcoa in restaurants because it tends to be greasy. This plate was on point, the meat was very clean and taste great! I would come back and order it again. My wife had the Caldo De Res, it was a huge bowl and she loved it because it had plenty of meat. My daughter had the Tampequinia plate she said the plate was good. We left full and happy and our bill was $ 29 it included 3 plates and drinks, can’t beat that! Thanks to the reviews and our own experience we will be back for sure!

I stopped in for lunch and the place is a bit busy which usually is a good sign. Not a fancy place and very little parking. Most of the customers have to park on the curb in the surrounding street. I sat myself and ordered beef enchiladas. Thay give chips and salsa while you wait for your order to arrive. The chips were very greasy and leave a bad taste in my mouth. The beef enchiladas came and as usual with beens, rice, small salad and tortillas. Beens were good, rice has no spices«which I’ve noticed most places dont use the spices grandma used like comino, garlic powder and chile powder» and I’m not going a big fan of carrots and peas in my rice as they have. The Enchiladas were on red tortillas which didn’t hold well and fell apart when cut into and again not much flavor of mexican spices in the picadillo as grandma did. Of coarse no one cooks like my grandma did but i would like to see a little more pride taken and put some flavor in the food. The Sweet Tea and homeade flower tortillas were good and service ok. So this is why I gave only 2 stars.

It took me a couple hours to get over how good this food is. We went this morning for breakfast and had the Barbacoa plate and a carne guisada taco. Meat game ~on fleek~ as they say.

Love, love, love, «in love» with this quaint, home-feeling place. No other place has ever come close to my grandmothers cooking like this restaurant, and she was born and raised in Texas! Everything about this hidden gem is worth the visit. I flew in from Los Angeles and had to come here first. Breakfast is to die for! Service by «Denise» was very memorable and so welcoming,! thank you for the hospitality! Next time I’m in San Antonio, no doubt I will come here. I have fallen in love with their cooking

There was a baby roach in my taco. I would give zero stars if I could. They also wanted to make me new tacos instead of a refund.

Love! Came for a late breakfast after a long night, was quickly seated and served. Luckily they immediately brought out chips and salsa which held me over, but my food didn’t take long at all. I ordered the huevos rancheros con nopal and it was fantastic. The eggs were cooked perfectly, I added a bit of the spicy green sauce and was very pleased. The nopal was super tasty… I wanted more. The potatoes were delicious and I greatly appreciated the piping hot tortillas… all for $ 6! I will most definitely be back to visit, it will be hard to force myself to try anything else!

Cheapest tacos in town! The guy already knows my name. Their lunch specials are really delicious as well as their breakfast tacos. Definitely a local favorite imo. Their salsa is delicious and staff friendly. The fastest service I have seen. Much better than Taco Taco.

I LOVE this joint. My husband and I go almost weekly. The food is so delicious and the coffee is not terrible but mostly it’s a super welcome spot. The crowd is super diverse and we need great spaces where you can just be yourself and eat some chiliqules and pancakes and weenie tacos(that you put in your handbag for later) without judgement. Amiright?! The green salsa is legit and spicy. I will say that it gets super crowded and you’ve gotta be on your A-game to grab a table(it’s seat yourself) but even during the busiest times we haven’t waited for very long. Even my father-in-law loved it and the man is tough to please. The service is awesome. They are so friendly and clearly a family business. The decorations for any holiday are adorable. One of my fav San Antonio spots.

I’ve got love in my heart for el milagrito. My favorite breakfast taco spot in town. The food is consistent, delicious, and cheap. They use real cheese for breakfast tacos and make a mean papa ranchera. Blended salsas are awesome. Sometimes the service is mediocre when they get busy but it’s never too bad. Be warned– if you’re here super early in the am they will reuse tortillas from the previous day so don’t go first thing on a weekday. I forgive them though cause these tacos are damn good.

I’ve been here a total of 3 times. Each time has been superb. Breakfast — The prices are so reasonable for the amount of food you get and the quality. My go to breakfast has been the pancake platter. Which consist of 2 delicious buttery GIGANTIC pancakes with a side of over-easy eggs and bacon. It’s the perfect carb meal for a sunday with my dog. I truly feel the pancakes should be priced higher for the quality. They are flavorful and the proportions are more than enough. However, I’m not complaining about the prices ;) Another reason why I keep coming back. Mexican food SHOULD be delicious and affordable. The barbacoa tacos remind me of the valley’s tacos. Not too much fat, and the right amount of salt and grease. Caldo– Chicken soup flavored with the right amount of spices, generous serving of hearty vegetables, and the broth… I can drink 2 cups of that broth. When the weather is cold, all I want is caldo from here. Horchata– Is excellent, milky and cinnamon-ly. I’ve ordered it twice and it’s been the same consistency which I appreciate. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. I enjoy seating outside, you can tell it’s been remodeled which is nice. It’s also very clean. Service– I really don’t have any complaints about the service. They do take a while to bring back your refills, napkins etc. But the ladies are really nice and you can tell they are always busy. They’re not just sitting down and texting. So I forgive them for that, which is why I’m giving them 5 stars. If you’re in the area– or not in the area(worth a drive for breakfast) I recommend this place if you’re looking to fill up your belly with some delicious pancakes, eggs, chorizo, and barbacoa.

This is a great little place on north saint mary. Haven’t had lunch here but their breakfast is perfect. The prices are reasonable and the food is yummy. Each time I’ve visited the staff is super friendly. A while back they were under construction to bring in new seating and seeing it now afterward the place looks like it’s been refreshed. Looks great! The staff is still awesome and the food still perfect. Really like how they’ve revamped the patio. This is always a great choice for breakfast!

Quite literally the worst service I have ever experienced. We waited nearly an hour for a single order of enchiladas. Meanwhile, just about everyone who walked in after us got their food. Server after server waked by without a word as we sat and waited, contemplating eating the napkins. Not one person asked how we were doing, offered us more water or anything. In fact, the second server we talked to the whole time had the audacity to ask us AGAIN what we wanted. The only reason this place got two stars is because of the salsa.

I placed and order to go and I get there no one greets you and everyone is to busy to ask can I help you or I will be right with you. They had One lady ringing up all table orders, phone calls & walk ins and the joint was packed. First time there and I left after the guy that was ahead if me just wanted to pay but they were obviously under staffed & need someone to take charge or and extra person to help up front. They need another register! Ridiculous first time & last time. As far as tacos I called in who knows if they taste good I never got them. I was not gonna wait any longer. I called order in not to wait! I was watching how place was ran was horrible! The guy ahead was still waiting to pay when I left. This is not a review on their food just service. Loosing orders too, too many customers waiting!

OMG, Yes! We were on the hunt for a good breakfast place on a Sunday morning! We just decided to Unilocal«Best Mexican breakfast in San Antonio» and it lead us to this fabulous place. Of course, as we expected, there was a huge line waiting to be sat. However, it went fast. We got sat and order. Service was OK, but nothing to gripe about. Would’ve preferred her to be nicer and more available for filling up my coffee cup, but oh well. The food was badass. I got a breakfast sandwich and was not expecting it to be so delicious — but it definitely was. Only hard part was finding parking. Would definitely come here again!

My last review was glowing. Not so much today. We ordered tacos this morning. The husband had a carne guisada and a taco feo. I had a bacon and egg mix and I too, had a feo. The husbands feo was OK. Let me explain what’s in a feo — carne asada, egg and beans. In years past this was an awesome taco. The meat was tender and flavorful. Today my taco contained agristle, not asada. Most of my meat Ended up half-chewed and then placed on the plate. Sorry, that’s a bit gross, I know. Just trying to paint the picture for you. The taco was disappointing. The others were fine. I’ll just steer clear of Taco Feo. I wonder if the nostalgic Taco Loco will be better?

Good, solid tex mex with a nice price tag. I loved the homemade chips — nice and thick and crunchy, and not too overly salty. Salsa was great, a smooth tomato-y blend with a little kick, served warm. Dishes our group sampled included the flauta plate, chicken enchiladas, and crispy tacos, and all were well received. No problems getting no beans/double rice. I had the barbacoa mini tacos. They were served with the meat and a slice of avocado, with lime, onions, and cilantro on the side. Very enjoyable, the meat was melt in your mouth and went nicely with the smooth, creamy avocado. The rice was served piping hot, a nice change from some other tex mex places. Pay at the register on your way out. Looks like they’re in the process of some rennovations and adding on a side porch; should be a nice shady spot to enjoy some tacos!

Yum!!! I’m so sad that I didn’t find this place sooner. My boyfriend and I were in the downtown area looking for a place for breakfast and we saw this place on Unilocal. This restaurant is definitely a hole-in-the-wall but DELICIOUS. I had the super taco(chorizo, egg, bean & potato) and my boyfriend had menudo and a picadillo taco. The food came out super fast! The tortillas are amazing and definitely homemade. The green salsa has an awesome kick. I can’t wait to try this place again.

Review on takeout order. I called in an order for 10 breakfast tacos, which included chorizo and eggs with cheese, bacon and egg with cheese, one chorizo and egg no cheese, and a chicharron taco. They were ready about 10 minutes after my phone call, fast! Make sure to count your tacos before you leave bc I only got 8 tacos. And did not receive the one without cheese :( My family said the chorizo was good, I wouldn’t know bc had to settle for picking off what I could of the cheese on a bacon taco. Frustrating. It was tasty though. Good tortillas and salsa! The chicharron taco was soft style, pure fat. If you want crunchy, make sure to specify. I will be giving them a second chance and will update my review accordingly. I do like supporting local eateries vs fast food chains. For now, I have to stick with minus two stars for shortchanged tacos and a wrong order.
