Located at the Hyatt Resort nearby Sea World, this track offers 27 holes of golf. I’m from So Cal so I booked my tee times last week and drove out from my downtown hotel which was only 12 miles away. The staff was super friendly from the time I arrived with bag attendant, pro shop staff and the personal inside the restaurant called the Cactus Oak Tavern. We warmed up on the driving range and teed off early on the Creeks 9 course and finished the back 9 on the Oaks course. All carts include GPS and there was a beverage gal who we encountered several times on the course. The courses were in fabulous shape with the exception the Creeks greens were recovering from being punched the week before. As the course is named after the Oaks — the fairways are oak lined and and is suppose to be more difficult then the Creeks but I found it just the opposite from the blue tees. On the Creeks 9 there seem to be many more hazards then the Oaks as long as you didn’t hit the trees! I was surprised how empty the courses were and we didn’t run into a group the entire day. We even stopped at the Cactus Tavern Restaurant at the turn and enjoyed a great lunch. BTW the pro shop is fully stocked and offers a variety of of clothing, equipment and even cigars. After my round I utilized the men’s locker room which has private lockers and showers. Nothing better then refreshing up after a round of golf. Regardless if you’re a scratch handicapper or a 25 handicap I think you’ll have a enjoyable day like I did this beautiful resort.
