We stopped in for Sunday Brunch, based on Unilocal reviews. First-thanks to all of you who pointed us here. Spent 3 days in SA and ate here every morning. The place is fun, inviting and quirky. The food is wonderful. We sampled a good portion of the menu and were happy with everything. Prices are reasonable, too. The staff is great. Summing up… you will be as happy as we are. Go, go now!!!

Love this place! Nice staff and quirky atmosphere. Great place to brunch after a nice walk or bike around King Williams. I’ve always had good service and good food. Reasonably priced :)

We dig this place! Make the line, order your yummy food, get a table sign and find a place to sit. Get your own coffee or tea in one of the many different kitchy cups or enjoy a mimosa BOWL! Seriously it’s a bowl! They have excellent breakfast and for lunch the chicken Cesar is one of the best I’ve had in quite a while. The dressing is great. Try ANY of the soups but the black bean was amazing. The staff are super sweet and helpful and the place is so cozy. Not fancy snobby or pretentious but great food with a little hipster style. The parking is hard but it’s worth the walk from our place downtown on days we know it’ll be busy. It’s not overly air conditioned, which you can read two different ways I guess. They have fans, both ceiling and floor going most of the hot times so they’re doing what they can. It’s an old building, which is a big part of the charm, so just deal with it. It’s a great place for two, a group or flying solo. It’s very reasonably priced and they serve generous portions. Sadly, no Cheshire Cat though. Lol

Food here is the bomb dot com! Such a hole-in-the-wall place but the food is on point and the ambiance is unique. Desserts and cakes are a must try! This place was packed when I went.

We were looking for a brunch spot and stumbled upon this place! Great stumble upon! I ordered the Bacon Benny and it was absolutely beautiful. It came with potatoes and sweet potatoes which were extremely packed with flavor. The bacon wasn’t skimpy pieces but thick cut pieces. I also had the lemon pie which was just right, not too tart and not too sweet. Nice scene and good service.

Wonderfully quaint little breakfast spot! Loved the whimsical atmosphere. So glad we left the riverwalk for this gem! Blueberry French toast was wonderful(as was everything else.) Got crowded while we were there, an obvious local favorite!

Prior to coming to San Antonio for the weekend, I searched for brunch locations off the Riverwalk and this was continuously at the top of the list. Arrived at about 8:45 on a Saturday morning, and it was still very quiet and peaceful. We ordered our food and tea and within 5 minutes we received our food piping hot. Prices were very affordable, service was great, food was excellent, and the atmosphere was super cozy! *I am gluten intolerant, and there were plenty of options for those with an intolerance or a preference of a diet sans gluten.

I’ve always been a fan of this quaint little place, but the service and surroundings have improved since my last visit. There were a few sullen faces before that were frustrating to see, but the entire staff was pleasant and had a smile today. I’ve had various meals here from breakfast to lunch. They offer a good variety of sandwiches, salads, desserts, and teas that are served in a cute little teapot with the cup and saucer of your choice. Today I had the egg salad plate with big, green spinach leaves, two generous lumps of egg salad, tomato chunks, and bacon with a slightly spicy chipotle mayo dressing. Loved! Give this little spot a try for lunch if you’re in the area or brunch on the weekend. Just get here before the post church crowd on Sundays :) the line will get loooong.

I need to come back for a second visit. This visit was a quick lunch meeting and I barely had a chance to take in the unique environment and stay for tea. I love the affordable options that suit my smaller appetite(yay for half orders of sandwiches!) I loved the Mad Salad #Tres that came with chips and salsa and a drink, all for $ 6.50! This is a great place for small groups, an extended time of reading or studying, or enjoying outdoor seating. Can’t wait to try the tea for two with the hubs!

Wonderful and quaint place… I was looking for something different, started a fitness régime and the food here is perfect. I love the breakfast menu, had the SCRAM of the day with scrambled eggs, mixed with peppers, sausage, spinach. Coffee. Yummy. Lunch, Had a giant salad, some older ladies who had came in couldn’t help but stare at my beautiful dish, and I gladly told them which salad it was. Also ordered hot Pomegranate tea, delicious. Self service on cold drinks. Coffee, iced tea, and soda. Procedure for new customers, walk in grab a menu, find a seat, go to counter and order/pay. They give you a place holder with a photo, mine was a poodle, and use this to bring you your food. No waiter or waitress always coming over and asking questions while you’re eating. :;-) After eating walk West on Beauregard st and you’ll reach the river walk, but on the way, the aroma of local flowers growing is nice, Take a healthy walk on the river walk.

Must see in San Antonio. You pick your own tea cup and order a pot of tea and the rest is history. Awesome food. I come here for brunch a lot.

Summary– Good Bagel, meh breakfast burrito. Dropped in to pickup breakfast on the way out of town. Cool little place, love the inside and the decorations. Menu also looked really good overall. Specializes in Tea so the only coffee they have is drip. Food– 3 Stars Special breakfast bagel sandwich was pretty darn good. Typical Texas goyem bagel, but good toppings and well proportioned. Breakfast burrito with bacon was like a really big overpriced breakfast taco. It wasn’t closed on the ends, and had nothing in it except eggs and two slices of bacon. Here in Houston I could get something better at a gas station for $ 1.79 Service– 4 Stars Pretty fast for a sit down kinda place and nice.

I would add a half star for their accommodation of our dog, they have a cool little outdoor patio in the center of the U shaped building. I mean cool in both senses, it was February. Interesting and tasty sandwiches, burgers, desserts, and nice hot pots of tea. Super friendly staff, quick to deliver your order. We really enjoyed our time there. Very casual, we shared the courtyard with another very friendly couple that was delighted to pay attention to our dog. The inside looks like it was built to appear a hundred years old, or perhaps it actually is a very old building in a very old part of town.(Kaiser Vilhelm) Don’t be put off by the chipped china cups and crooked shelves, they are a deliberate nod to Lewis Carroll.(Mad Hatter, get it?) Delightful. Stop in and be delighted.

My kind of place… good tea and scrumptious food in a cozy, casual atmosphere. I did note the earlier comment about dingy/stained cups from lots of tea/coffee. Nothing that a little elbow grade in the kitchen and sorting out the chipped one’s wouldn’t remedy. A short search and I found me the perfect size and clean status. ½ sandwich(egg salad on yummy pumpernickel) and cup of soup(red pepper gouda), pot of English breakfast tea and a scone to go, all for $ 13 + tip. Good, free WiFi and very cheery service. 12 minute walk south from the Drury Plaza.

This is more like a 4.5. This place is located around downtown and looking from the outside it doesn’t look much but they have a lot to offer. They have some selections of tea you can buy by the pot or cup and they even have high tea here. Granted it doesn’t look like the fancy high tea places, this place does it for a cheaper price too. Not only do they serve tea, they have lunch items, brunch, beer, and delicious desserts! Seating is scattered throughout the place and you seat yourself– inside, to the side, outside front and back. I really like their backyard seating. There was a squirrel throwing acorns lol This place does get really packed especially during brunch. When ordering tea you get to choose your tea cups a good and bad thing bc some of them are kind of dirty. I have tried their mango Ceylon tea, some of their brunch items and their raspberry white chocolate cake. And oh my goodness they were all very delicious. Their price point is perfect and brunch is pretty cheap! Tacos for 2.99? Or 2 for 4.99? An egg and bacon for less than 5?! Deal! Their egg Benedict are also really tasty, and try their waffles!!! Their dessert cakes not only look amazing but they taste amazing as well.

This is a coffee review! In comparison to other artisan style coffee shops, the coffee here is really middle of the road. There is not really much else to say about it. It is handedly better than the coffee you get many/most restaurants and chainy coffee shops but that is just not how I prefer rank coffee shops. I did get a slice of pecan pie which was very good. And again while the pie was better than most equivalent slices you would get at restaurants or chainy shops, compared to places that specialize in pies and pastries the slice was also somewhat mediocre. In actuality I might be disposed to give this place 3 ½ stars, but as is my custom I always round down on my ratings. So I would recommend this place if you want to have some combination of tea, sandwiches, pie, and/or coffee. But If you are interest in just one of these things you can most likely find a better option locally.

My sisters and I came here after some very poor service at Piedras Niegras café! We were starved! Yeah, we had to wait in line to order but the line was not bad. The food came quickly with a smiling face! The chicken salad was so good! The tuna salad was a pleasure to savor every bite! Smoked salmon a hit! Thank you Madhatters for saving the day!

I absolutely loved this place! My only complaint is that they don’t have one in the DFW Area. I absolutely loved everything about this place. As soon as you walk in there’s a table with menu’s and a sign that says«Grab a menu and seat yourself». There is definitely plenty of seating. Whether you go left, forward(outside courtyard) or right. There are tables everywhere. When you are ready to order you go to the front and place your order with the cashier. If you order tea, just be advised you get a whole tea pot of whatever tea that you order. The menu says it’s enough for 2 servings of tea, however my sister ordered one and she got at least 4 servings of tea(and it was good!). After you place your order you get a little stand with a picture to place at your table, that way they know who to bring the right food to ;) Drinks are located(if facing the cashier) on the right. They have cups and everything there for you. Tea Cups are located on the right sight of the cashier as well, on shelves or along the wall by the other drinks. They have more than enough tea cups to choose from. Now let’s talk about the food! They had many choices to choose from, my sister ended up getting one of the Eggs benedict.(I currently don’t remember which one). The plate was gone within seconds. She said it was delicious & the best eggs benedict she had ever had. I ordered the Original Turkey with a side of French onion soup. I was expecting a hot sandwich, so I was disappointed when they brought it to the table and it was cold. BUT it was ah-may-ZING! I would definitely order that sandwich again. They’re French onion soup was also really good, not the best one I’ve ever had, but definitely really good. My girlfriend ordered Migas Scram, she also liked it and ate all of it. All three of our plates were licked clean after we were finished eating. Before we left, my sister ordered an Apple Spice cake and a Red Velvet cake. She tried the Apple Spice cake, she said it was good but waaaaaay too sweet for her to be able to eat the whole thing. My girlfriend and I devoured that cake. It is the BEST Red Velvet cake I’ve ever had. Extremely moist, sweet but not too sweet, and delicious cream cheese frosting. The fact that my girlfriend liked is a big deal because she is not a huge Red Velvet cake fan. Next time I’m in San Antonio I will definitely be stopping by here. There is one inconvenience to this restaurant, but I think it might just be that area. Parking is a bit of a hassle — very limited parking. We ended up having to park in the residential area(and we prayed our car wouldn’t get towed). It’s hard to find parking, they have maybe 4 – 5 parking spots in front of the restaurant and then the roads around it all have signs that says«Towing Enforced do not park here». Other than that, GREAT place — definitely would recommend it.

Fantastic little breakfast stop. I love the interior here… Quirky and crooked, the décor is Alice in Wonderland themed… Sort of. Crooked door frames and slanted shelves, old old teacups and stuff to look at on every inch of the walls. Order at the counter, they bring it to you. We went on a Sunday morning after the half marathon and didn’t have a problem getting a table for 5. The menu is big and so cheap! Pitchers of mimosas, tons of options for food including tacos, scrambles, and classics like pancakes, French toast, and biscuits and gravy. We all thought the good was delicious. And did I mention cheap! So cheap! The place is adorable. The food is great. The little things about the place are fantastic. I can’t wait to comeback.

I am so happy to say that I had such a good experience at this little cute tea house yesterday. The service was absolutely great. The man behind the cashier had some great recommendations and he even altered the menu for us since we didn’t like a certain ingredient in one of them. He was patient and knowledgeable. All the staff were men today and all were professional and very well-mannered. It’s so nice to come back to a restaurant after having so many bad experiences and they actually improving tremendously. I met a friend for lunch today and we got the high tea which consisted of 3 different type of sandwiches. They all CAN appeal to a different palate which is awesome when you’re with a group of friends. The entire lunch was perfect except for the bread, just a little too rough. I do have to say that today I became the biggest fan of their blackberry sage tea. As I write this review at 5:10am I can’t stop thinking of the aroma and the perfect combination of leaves and flavor. I will be back for that tea. I do love the ambiance this little tea house gives, it’s quirky yet quaint.
