This was my first time at perrys, not sure if I’ll be back or not. The waitress was wonderful and the décor is pretty amazing as well. We spent 300 on dinner for two but the price wasn’t an issue… The food was. There was really nothing great about it. It wasn’t disgusting but it certainly wasn’t good either it was just eh. I really wanted to love it. I can’t say I’ll never be back but Im not in a rush to return either, maybe just for cocktails

Haven’t had anything but the Friday lunch special. But if you’re like me that is all you need to be hitting this place for. Don’t waste your money on fine dining! Nah you can, but when you’re not feelin like dropping stacks check the Friday special out and get a mean $ 14 melt in your mouth pork chop that’ll keep you coming back. Also make reservations if you do plan on going, gets poppin.

This place was on point from the wait staff to the silverware. Had an AMAZING experience and the staff was very professional. Sometimes when met with employees around the same age as us they feel the need to slack or loosen their tongue but these guys were more than professional and friendly. The food… the FOOD! Lets start with the bread and butter, this was the best bread and butter ive ever eaten. The butter was the perfect amount of salty with creamy. Then they brought out the fried calamari, complete with slices of jalapeños and squeezed lemon, again, perfect. Then we had the lobster bisque which was perfect, I took a scoop and stared at my wife, she looked at me and we both said it was the best we have EVER had. For dinner we had steak and lobster, at this point my wife and I just laughed because everything they had brought out was immaculate and we kept saying«this is the best thing ever». Thank you for this great experience to the entire staff at Perry’s this is our new special occasion spot.

We just moved here from Houston and are pleased to know that there is a Perry’s in The River City. This family from the greater Houston area knows the restaurant business extremely well and knows how to satisfy its customers with excellent steaks, pork chops, fish, and other entrees. Houston has some of the finest restaurants in the U.S. We prefer Perry’s over the high end chain steakhouses.

1 star if I am the one paying for $ 900 bill. Food Quality — 5 star, except ice tea. Ice tea was very opaque, definitely long over due on salt/filter replacement. Service — 2 star. Emptied iced tea glass sat on table entire night, server never offer refill. Party of 7, 2 had ordered alcohol already, 5 pp sharing a bottle is a stretch, but can be done. Was pushed for 2 bottles of wine, when we told server we are not big on wine, just want something to toast with. Ordered Nutty Dangelo, we have always enjoy the table side cooking, and the opportunity to interact with server. Sadly, our server seems to be a rush to complete the task, there was zero attempt for interaction. Food exucation — 3 star. 2 out of 7 entrees failed the cooking request. Medium rare plus came out close to well done. Medium rare came out as rare dripping with blood. But the other order came out perfectly. Overall experience — I will NOT return, or recommend to other. Manager never swing by to check on us, despite our server clearly is new. It was raining and windy in low temperature, other location always offer umbrella escort to valley station, but we were left to huddle out side in the cold.

Only open on Fridays for lunch, which is always really busy because you can order the famous pork chop for only $ 15 instead of $ 40. Make sure to make reservations far in advance! There was a really long line waiting to get in at 11am today. I’m not a huge meat eater, but the pork chop here is so delicious! It comes with a side of mashed potatoes and apple sauce to dip the pork chop in. SOSO good. I would never order pork chop anywhere else, but it’s the only thing I order here. My cousin ordered the tomato basil pasta, which I would not recommend. Tasted like it was pasta that was frozen and reheated. I would definitely stick with meat at this butcher shop turned fine dining restaurant.

Disappointed — We’ve been a «Perry’s Family» since the first week they opened here in San Antonio and have been pretty consistent in dining there, at least, once a month. We, most commonly dine as a full family of 7 and, in previous years, the service and food were both par none. Lately, it seems that things have begun to slip. Either through lack of training or supervision, the service is on its way down hill. When paying $ 300plus for a meal before the wine or cocktails certain expectations are established. To have different party members meals hitting the table at intervals as far apart as 15 minutes, having dirty dishes remain on the table for over half an hour, having a waiter note an empty cocktail glass, ask if we would like another and, when the offer is declined, leave the empty glass on the table and walk away are things that do not scream first class dining experience. All of these things happened with this evening’s experience. I would like to say it was a one off but it has been happening in the last 4 – 6 month’s trips. With the exception of one waiter(Daniel, who is a true professional) it seems the staff quality has severely fallen off. On top of the decline in dining experience is the«new menu». This seems to be nothing more than increased prices with two or three new items added. It seems every item has increased by a minimum of $ 8 while portions are decreasing. In a hard economy it would seem foolish to both raise prices and cut portions while expecting to attract more diners. The converse effect is actually what will happen in short order. Especially when there are now two other«Prime» steak houses within 5 minutes of Perry’s location. I know that we were here on Tuesday night, which is not always a big dining out kind of evening. Nonetheless, there were a lot of empty tables and a full staff that was lacking the concept of hustle. I guess a lot has changed since my days in the business. This appears to be a classic case of a restaurant transitioning from being hungry to establish itself to being comfortable and taking their clientele for granted. I for one, cannot change their choices in their business model but can choose to not support those choices with my hard earned money. Bottom line, the flavors are all still there, the quality of the meat is still outstanding but the bloom has definitely begun to brown at the edges of this, once lovely, rose.

The chop salad and cilantro tequila lime salad were both really delicious. All the entrée were so good from the sea bass, shrimp, red snapper to the chicken and pork chop. Not one bad dish. The sides were too many to choose from Although we managed to sample seven of them. All were soooo good. Not one bad dish. Our server was Lisa. You couldn’t ask for anyone better. she gave excellent service . This definitely is one of my favorites.

So this was my first at Perry’s. I have been to renowned steak houses before. This place was as expected. Really nice décor. Lots of fresh meat on display. Very visible wine offerings. As per the dinner and whatnot. The food was tasty all around. Although the main reason I went to Perry’s was for a good cut of steak. Now I ordered my steak medium. Came out well. Sadly I was so hungry I decided to continue eating. Upon the server asking about my meal I had said my issue with my entrée. He immediately offered me another cut. But I didn’t feel right getting another piece of steak after already eating so much. Nevertheless the manager came over and offered his condolences and took care of my entrée. All and all had a great experience and will most likely return in the future. FYI. Double check the costs if the server offers an option to you. What I didn’t know was the original $ 10 glass of wine I was interested was declined by the server who offer a «better» wine which was literally more than double the price of my original.

Last Friday took the family to Perry’s Steakhouse to enjoy their famous Pork-chops on Friday. I hadn’t try pork chops this great before OMG! they’re out of this world they’re so tender and juicy and flavorful, the mashed potatoes were good. Also tried one of their famous dessert Nutty d’Angelo they prepare the toppings right in front of you and then poured on top of the vanilla ice cream. It is just delicious I highly recommend it, but there’s only one thing you’ve to make reservations, but it is worth it.

We came here this evening to celebrate our 2 yr wedding anniversary & they did not disappoint. Our server Seth was absolutely phenomenal & his recommendations were all spot on. The Famous Pork Chop was out of this world. The glaze on it and when paired with the applesauce left me wanting so much more. Thankfully, the portion was massive. My husband had the Symphony Kabob(the presentation was exquisite) as was the South African lobster that was in it. We ended our meal with a dessert called the Nutty D’Angelo. The ice cream, almonds and sauce was made in heaven yummy. Again, I can not say how wonderful our server SETH was. We look forward to coming and being served by him again. He is the best of the best. Thank you for making our anniversary special!

My husband and I took our son to Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille for his birthday dinner. I made my reservation on Open Table and later called the restaurant to make sure they knew it was his birthday. We ordered a bottle of MacMurrary Pinot Noir and my husband and I each ordered the lobster bisque; my son had a chopped salad. The lobster bisque is served with a small serving of lobster visible in a bowl and then the bisque is poured over the lobster. This was very tasty! I have been here once before and had their Salmon, and mimicked my order because I had enjoyed it so much the first time I had it. My salmon was a little over cooked this time; I requested medium to medium rare, and our server Stephanie said that she would put my order to be cooked medium. This was served with asparagus, and we ordered the mashed potatoes as a side to share among the three of us. The potatoes had an amazing flavor but sadly to report, they were served cold. My son ordered the Surf and Turf which was a 4 oz lobster tail and a 6 oz. Filet Mignon which was served with steam asparagus. His Crème Brulee was complimentary for his birthday. We all had some of this and it was wonderful. Our server Stephanie was very attentive and made sure that we were very well taken care of. I enjoyed the ambience and the fact that it was quiet while we dined.

Great place to get a break from the standard happy hour places at La Cantera. I have been here for dinner a few times in the past and I wasn’t impressed. I would rather spend my money at Ruth’s Chris. But if you’re into pork chops, this would be the place to go. They have a lunch special on Fridays for $ 13.95. Make reservations or get there early. Anyway, select cocktails and wines are half price during happy hour. Happy hour is Monday– Friday 4 – 6:30 and Sunday 4 – 9. Their happy hour appetizers are pretty good and range from $ 7 to $ 12 each. The calamari, Butcher’s blend burger, pork chop bites, and Strip pizza are all delicious! I definitely recommend Perry’s for happy hour or for their lunch specials. I do not think it’s worth going here for dinner. In my opinion Perry’s is not on the same level as the other quality steakhouses in San Antonio.

4.75 stars. It had been probably a decade since I last dined at Perry’s and it hasn’t skipped a beat. Every Friday during lunch, Perry’s serves a well seasoned pork chop so massive that entire sections of your cut intentionally taste like different meals. The lunch cut could easily feed two adults, but when it comes to Perry’s, I morph into a greedier member of the species and take the remainder back home. Sides that complement the pork chop include buttery mashed potatoes and a subtly sweet applesauce. While service at this particular location was either hit(the waiter who was jovial about the lunch cut pork chop) or miss(a waitress who tried to upsell me on everything even before I bought a glass of wine that was more expensive than my meal), the atmosphere is that perfect balance of classy and sophisticated that never crosses into arrogance or pretentious behavior. I noted that they have a 4 course prix-fixe for $ 44 during the month of July to celebrate their anniversary. Too bad I just moved back to Texas. I would have loved to have taken advantage of this deal. That said, it would be wise to keep on the lookout for dining specials as Perry’s can run a pretty penny if you aren’t careful.

Wow. What a surprise! I was in San Antonio visiting some friends and they recommended we go have a great meal at a place that offers a great customer experience. Perry’s it is! You have the ambiance of your high end steakhouse, the service definitely matches. Our waiter was extremely attentive and made sure all of our needs were taken care of. I had the famous pork chop, and it was hands down the best pork chop I have ever had. *Side note, I have had a lot of pork chops* The chop was HUGE(could easily feed two people) and full of flavor. When they present the pork chop, they bring it to your table whole, and then they cut it down and show you how to eat it. There is a «ribeye» portion, ribs portion, and a loin portion. All of which have a different flavor, consistency, and JUICINESS! Yeah… I said it, JUICINESS! I didn’t have desert, but my friends did, and they LOVED it. Big enough to share for at least two people. *the only reason why I didn’t get five stars to Perry’s is because when we were greeted at the door, the host noticed that I had on flip flops(we were out and about all day) and she said, «normally we wouldn’t let you in with flip flops, but this time I will let you.» I appreciate the kind gesture, I know she is just communicating a message relayed to her by management, and I respect her for communicating the message. However, there is no difference between me coming in with flip flops and a woman wearing open toe shoes, that being said, management team, you may want to take a second look at this rule, not only is it a poor way to communicate with your customers, it is not a rule that holds any weight, the shoes that people wear have no weight or bearing on what type of money they are going to spend* I’ll be back to the Perry’s in Denver for pork chop Friday’s!

Had a great experience there every time I’ve been. Best filet mignon I’ve had so far, just melts in your mouth. Check out their lunch specials. Only $ 13 for their famous pork chops, $ 37 during regular time. Great place to bring a date.

A steakhouse at La Cantera: pretty but pricey, with hit-or-miss service and food depending on who’s working. Prices are fair for the quality and average for the area, but the service isn’t on the same level. My aunt and grandmother are long time fans, but when I visited with them recently, they stated it was the worst experience they’d had. DRINKS: Perry’s reserve cab is tasty, but the table favorite was the blueberry cucumber martini. APPETIZERS: The escargot is divine. A healthier option is the pear salad, which has a great homemade garlic dressing. ENTREES: My grandma and aunt regularly split the massive porkchop special but tonight’s version was smaller than previous orders and was noticably smaller than versions served at tables around us. My sister and I split the Prime Three Peppercorn NY Strip, which was overcooked(medium rather than medium rare) but very tasty with the peppercorn sauce. SIDES: The mashed potatoes tasted like instant flakes in a cafeteria, and the mac and cheese was extremely peppery and unappealing for 3 our of 4 at our table. But the honey sriracha brussels sprouts were unexpectedly awesome! DESSERT: The dessert trio(truffle, mini crème brûlée, and mini cheesecake) was disappointing, particularly the dry and unappealing cheesecake. Grandma loves cheesecake and the version here is typically one of her favorites. She opted for an additional regular slice, and it was served sans the advertised blueberry sauce. Server procured additional sauce, and grams was happy. Our visit spanned nearly three hours. This is not an extremely high-end place where several courses are spaced out over a long period, the service was just painfully slow. My drink took half an hour to arrive at our table despite multiple reminders to our server, and at one point we went to the bar for water refills because we hadn’t seen her in so long. When she was present, she made some awkward social missteps(repeatedly complimenting our looks, not acknowledging the water we got from the bar in her absence, other odd quirks). Apparently Perry’s strong suit is their porkchop, and it’s available from 11am-4pm on Fridays for a very low price($ 14). I’d probably come here a few times a year as a local, but their service needs to step up the pace and improve consistency. EDIT: Dropping a star, upon opening out takeout box the next day, we found a disaster. Someone else’s steak was received instead of my grandmother’s leftover porkchop, and my aunt’s remaining food had lime slices underneath it, as if it had been dumped in haphazardly at the bar?

3.5 stars Sunday happy hour from 4−9pm?! Half priced drinks & select apps. Genius & I’m SO there! Perry’s is a steakhouse… it’s dim, it’s modern, it’s pricey, it’s very oak-y with a trace of snoot. Don’t go in your bathing suit, k? Keep the prom dress in the closet, too, though. We sat at the bar. My biggest complaint is service is slow/not as attentive as it should be for Perry’s caliber. Our bartenders would frequently see our empty wine glasses, leave dirty plates sitting there for over half an hour, & make eye contact then pretend like they didn’t see your eyebrow raise indicating«unscrew another baby bottle of Cabernet & pour it in my glass please». The beef tenderloin sliders were superb. Shredded medium filet mignon with melted cheese, sautéed onions & mushrooms atop a doughy, buttery bun. The fries were pretty good & well seasoned. The smoked pork quesadillas were also good. I liked the homemade roasted salsa. But, couldn’t hold a candle to the sliders. After many glasses of wine, we ask for a pizza. Outta dough, boo! Manager came to apologize personally then comped our sliders, cool. Too bad he couldn’t cure my wine hangover this morning…

This place should be called Perry’s Pork Chop House. That’s what everyone gets there, right? That’s what has us coming back for more, especially on Fridays for lunch when their signature pork chop is only $ 11.95! Even at that price point, the portion is quite generous and can easily feed 2 adults. We’ve also tried their steaks, seafood dishes, pastas, and salads. While all decent, it’s the pork chop that we crave and want more of. So meet us there next Friday for lunch???
