Took the family here for a birthday dinner. What a disappointment. Let me first start off by saying they forgot to do the birthday song and bring the cake that i spent 20 minutes on the phone prearranging. Leading up to them forgetting that, it literally took an hour and twelve minutes for us to get our food. Two servers got in a yelling match right in front of our table. A manager came over and reprimanded them right in front of us. The food when it came was ok but nothing I would come and sit through all the negatives to get again

Fun place to eat. There are fake robot animals that look real and move around. The entire location looks like a rainforest. My favorite part was the roof, it looks very cool and reminded me of the Milky Way, and it moved to, well changed with lighting effects. The food was good. The prices were on the higher end. I think we paid like 24.99 for both adult mails. The meals did come with lots of food. Lots of real life fish in tanks to look at. Two adult mails two adult drinks in a special glass you get to keep, appetizer, and a child meal cost us over $ 100.

Service sucked!!! We were practically the only ones here and it took over an hour to get our food. The waiter came by maybe every 30 min or so. Never again. Food was ok but not worth the hassle.

Man. We came to visit San Antonio and decided on Rainforest Café for dinner. I understand that this was a holiday weekend and we did not worry about the 2.5 hour wait to be seated… of course, that’s understandable. We get texted that our table was ready so we made our way to the front only to find out they sent the text by accident. Fine, we waited a bit more and were told to go to the third floor because our table as ready. We get to the third floor and our table wasn’t ready. So we waited some more. We finally get seated and get our menus handed to us. We ordered our drinks and one appetizer. It took about 45 minutes to get our drinks. I can’t tell you how the food taste because we are still waiting. It’s been an hour and thirty minutes since we ordered. I’m definitely not coming back to this restaurant the next time we visit the Riverwalk.

Walked in and the two, I guess we can call them«greeters». Well, maybe not even that because they didn’t say anything to us. I went to the hostess who I saw to my left. She asked our name and contact phone number and then told us to go to the 3rd floor. Those two«greeters» didn’t even bother to tell us where the elevator was. Not that we mind taking the stairs but one of us was holding a toddler. So maybe just a little consideration. We go upstairs and waited a few minutes before we sat down. We sat in the area with the man holding the world and the sign that says, rescue the rainforest. We waited about 5 min for a waiter. He asked if we had been helped yet. He said he would take care of us. He left and came back about 2 min later and we were finally able to order. He was a perky young man. Nice kid but they may have given him just a little too many tables. He honestly did well though. As far as the food, the natural(veggie) burger was horrible. No flavor whatsoever. Everyone else in my party seemed to be okay with their meal choice. Nice and fun for little ones. A little overpriced and major tourist trap. Oh and the restroom on the 3rd floor wasn’t so clean.

Overall good experience for Mother’s Day(mom been wanting to go) The food and drinks were just«ok» and over priced even though we got there right when they opened, it took awhile to be seated. The rainforest coming to life was a cool touch, especially for the kids. This is a one and done for me.

Had dinner with our family who drove in from the Coast, we all had young children so we opted for a family type entertainment dinner venue. You get what you ask for, the staff was very kind and apologetic but here are the facts: . Too many people poorly managed front half of the restaurant made for waiter staff table designations. We had 2 waiters none really knew who’s table we belong to. . No drink orders taken at all, we ended up with water rushed to the table once the delay was realized. Long wait for food and the 1 salad orders the easiest to place came out last lol. . Too cold too spicy too messy we got it all. . Bathroom on 1st floor flooded was real bad and a big health violation? . Special sauce on the shrimp wrap was ketchup? . We stayed to pay but noticed several tables just walking out without paying because of 1 or more of these issues. The animals did work and out girls did love that but they did not like the macaroni and cheese. The 1 star should be less than the 1.

–My boyfriend & I decided to eat here when we were visiting the Riverwalk in San Antonio. –The restaurant has a very dim lighting. To go along with that, they have a rainforest theme. Some of the features include plants, a waterfall, and fake figures of rainforest animals(monkeys, frogs, elephants, etc.) –Every once in awhile, the animals will«come to life» because the animals are animatronic. –Rainforest Café is owned by Landry’s, so expect it to be expensive. –They were really busy the night we went in, so we had to be put on a waiting list. –For our drinks, my bf & I both had their smoothies. I got their Key Wester smoothie which is pretty much a blend of strawberry, banana, and cranberry juice. I don’t remember what my bf had, but they were both pretty good. –I ordered the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. The burger consisted of their bbq sauce, cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. It’s also topped off with a fried onion ring. The burger was fantastic. I love the sauce that they used. I believe my bf got the Taste of the Islands dish. It’s a seafood plate that consisted of shrimp, scallops, tilapia with mango salsa and your choice of side. This dish was also $ 25.00. Of course my boyfriend would order the most expensive thing on the menu. I asked him if it was worth $ 25.00, and he yes because it was really good. Especially the mango salsa. –Our server was decent and friendly enough. –Next to the restaurant is a gift shop where they sell all their merchandise. They sell a variety of items such as stuffed animals, T-shirts, action figures, cups with their mascot on it, keychains, etc. CONCLUSION: Expensive. Good for kids if you have any.

No wait time, yeaaaaah buddy we were getting our drinks even quicker! My bestie & I made our way upstairs like we were instructed to be seated. People passed but no one approached.(–1 star) Cue the Jeopardy song! We were about ready to leave when someone finally came out, unhappily(–1 star, sorry to bother you while you’re at work), but came none the less. We sat & decided Mojitos were perfect & then out of no where came Alfredo. All was forgotten on how we were 2 seconds from leaving not 3 seconds ago. He was AMAZING. Made simple small talk, gave recommendations & even smiled. Can you believe that? Someone at work with a smile on their face– it was our observation that was rare at this location, we got mighty lucky to be seated in his section. A manager here should think about having Alfredo train some of the other staff bc boy do they need it! Thank you, Alfredo! You made our little visit to the RiverWalk worth our wild! Now visit California!(:

Was there during my visit in San Antonio, Riverwalk. It was so cool and such a fun place to dine at. We sat next to the gorilla and our waitress was joking it will come out alive but don’t be scared. Haha. The food taste great! Must try this place if you are in that area!

Pretty much like all Landry’s restaurants except made for families! Don’t expect to spend only $ 30, just like all other restaurants on the river walk it’s a tourist area so it’s not cheap. In fact because it’s a Landry’s restaurant gives that away. The wait is long so be prepared to kill some time, like an hour or two. small gift shop is cute and the animals in the restaurant are incredible! The food was good and so was the service! I would definitely go back.

Good for the kids! I really wanted to dislike this place… it seemed overpriced and kinda boring… But I was surprised how much my kids enjoyed it. They loved looking around for animals and enjoyed the thunderstorms that come every once in awhile. The food is expensive but if you stick with the burgers you’ll be set. They’re big, filling, and tasty. We went on a Sunday and didn’t have to wait too long. We ended up on the 3rd floor not really close to anything cool but the kids found fun things to look at and do. The staff we dealt with www friendly and made sure we enjoyed our experience.

Tonight I brought a group of 50 to Rainforest Café. We did not dine in, however, we did the riverboats with dinner. Seeing that I had 50 teenagers who are difficult to please, this was a win! Right off the bat I have to tell you if you want to do a riverboat dinner plan ahead. I believe you need to make reservations for this. Our service with Rainforest was phenomenal. First and foremost, the food was delivered promptly. That’s hard to do considering they have time the food readiness with each completed tour of the boat. But as we arrived each time, the course was hot, fresh, and ready. And as for these picky teenagers they loved the food. We had quesadillas, burgers, pasta and of course the ever popular volcano! The server for each boat was courteous and helpful. The staff was accommodating and even the kitchen staff checked on us to insure our satisfaction. I was pleased with this experience. I would return again and I would bring a group again! I have nothing bad to say. Thank you for a great dining experience!

Wanted a place to relax before lunch and grab a cheap drink. Should have known by the fake thunderstorm upon our entrance that we were doomed. Got two cheap run of the mill beers and basically regretted it with every sip after. You get to keep the glass? Why? So I remember how much I overpaid for my beer? Bartender was nice but I am glad we didn’t stick around for overpriced food that I am sure was made by a microwave

Stopped in for a beer because it was convenient. I foolishly assumed a local but nationally distributed, mediocre beer would be in expensive. Low and behold, they charged me $ 11 for a single shit beer. Couple this outrage with the incredibly aggravating«rainforest» nonsense(booming sound effects and what not), this place is a disaster. I pity the fool who actually eats here… and, now, the fool who decides to stop in just for a shit beer, only to be bent over a stupid plastic giraffe bar stool.

Super duper pooper scooper!!! Incredibly over priced. My wife and I each had a $ 17 burger that was horrible and bland. Atmosphere was way more sad and gimmicky than cool. Looked like 10 years of dust all over the plastic plants that line each of the three floors from wall to wall and the ceiling. Service was ok but obviously no one was very passionate about what they were doing. My family and I will never eat at any Rainforest location again. We spent $ 60 for three people to eat(two burgers, one kids Mac n cheese) RIDICULOUS.

We’ve eaten at various Rainforest Cafes before, including this one. A bit overpriced, but on the Riverwalk that’s the way it is. It’s a bit of a change from most dining atmospheres. I had 2 older kids, a teen and preteen, and the waiter encouraged them to go on a scavenger hunt(really meant for younger kids) to get them occupied while waiting for the food. Food: took a bit of time. That seems usual at all Rainforest Cafes. I got the Paradise Chopped Salad. It is almost $ 7. As you can see by my photo, it’s just lettuce with a few diced tomatoes, some shredded carrots and supposedly cucumber. The service was good. Our server was fantastic. For young kids, or those with sensory issues, this may not be a good place to take them. The table next to us had a screaming child when the forest sounds and«thunderstorms» started up, crying that she wanted to leave. Consider that when taking young children.

The wait was over an hour — actually it was more than an hour. But in the end, it was worth the wait because the ambiance is unique and the food was delicious! Some of the dishes we ordered: taste of the islands(blackened tilapia, coco shrimps, scallops&shrimps), jungle steak & shrimp, Reuben sandwich. Too much to described but they were all great choices, scrumptious! We also ordered the Mai tai, Margherita, mojito! All so good! Overall, if you can make prior reservations before coming during lunch&dinner! FOOD: 5⁄5 SERVICE: 4⁄5 AMBIANCE: 5⁄5
